HP Print Service Plugin

I really love the app, but I only gave 4 stars because the, 'help us improve our app' icon appears in my notifications every time I print. Also, if there was an easier way to unselect multiple pages, that would be lovely. Hopefully, leaving this review stops all of that. UPDATE: 2 years later, and I still get a request to rate the app every time I print something, even though I've already done so.

Works well. Once connected, the printer can handle many file types and has a great range. It works well with even guests phones. It's extremely basic which is good here. There is no learning curve to figure it out. Its two buttons to print. The app is extremely clear when there is an issue, like no paper or low ink, and lets you know very quickly if it can't print.

Quick, super easy, and super convenient. I love that I can print straight from my phone with just a few clicks. And I LOVE not having to go to the store to buy replacement ink anymore! It's definitely worth the monthly subscription. I have to admit, it was quite frustrating setting up the printer when I first got it but it finally cooperated. Now it works like a dream. Works great for my baking business too. When a customer sends me a picture sample of their order, I can print crisp and clear pics so the colors are exactly what the customer wants. Highly recommend!

It's a good app. It allows me to print from my cellphone. I could not do that before. It should have advanced features like sizing for photos and irregular sized documents. It also gives you messages such "Sign-in the HP Print App" when you're already signed in and the photo is ready to print. It's kind of annoying! Also, it gives you the message, "printer is not available; check your printer" when you know your cellphone is already connected to the printer. It's very frustrating!

So far, I really like this app. Using a wireless HP 8610 and I assume, related to inactivity and power saving, that the printer often gets disconnected from my different devices. When it's time to print, it won't find the printer and hadn't seemed to communicate with it without rebooting network and printer. With the new app, it seems to communicate much better, resolving the old issue.

For my windows 10 computer and Android phone, this app works sporadically. When it works, it's good. When it doesn't, it's very frustrating as I usually need to print quickly. For Word or other text files it is good. If you want to print something from the Web, it gets touchy. UPDATE 12.29.21 I lowered the rating to a one star instead of two. I'm a pretty understanding guy when it comes to technical issues. However, this app just does not work 80% of the time.

It does well to send photos to the printer. Purchased and used for printing a variety of photos for a craft and not having the ability to resize really frustrated and hindered my ability. Only two options for printing were print to scale and fit to page. Ended up printing, then copying manually while reducing the size (hoping I reduced the size enough so the image would fit within the parameters I was limited to on my project). Needless to say, there was a lot of wasted printing and copying. :-(

Great app and very user friendly, the only way I can print photos in the correct size from my phone, without this app my pictures came out way too zoomed in and cut off. It's also pretty cool that it keeps track of your ink levels right on the home page. Also if you need any help you can reach out to them directly on Facebook messenger (because it's impossible to get support especially late at night)

When it works, it works pretty well. Although my printer is set up, the app continually tells me it's not, even and especially, in the middle of printing multiple items. It doesn't give you the option to print from Drive, from the app, unless you happen to have a PDF in there; it's not always happy to do that. Would be nice if the app would immediately open the printer that is functional, instead of calling the same printer by two different functional names and making neither a simple process

The app works fine...when it works. More of a connectivity issue + it is very annoying that now I have to sign in every single time, never had to do that before. Often when trying to print from my phone or PC, it says the printer is offline despite it working fine when making copies or scanning. Never had this issue initially but lately I seem to have to turn the printer off and back on for the app to show it as ready to print. It's a bit annoying, not sure what the fix would be.

I like the printer, but there are a few issues. At times, my printer is unavailable through the app even though it's been setup multiple times. Next, if the printer drops from the network, it can be challenging getting it back on. When I first purchased this printer, it took a while getting it to show on the network and I am tech savvy. For beginners to fully setup, I don't feel it's user-friendly.

It is fine when it works. But often it does not. Not consistant. "Printer Unavailable" errors happen a lot. Or it just will not print with no clue as to why. I don't like that there are fewer print options on mobile than desktop. I like being able to resize on desktop, but unable to do so on mobile. Currently, I'm having trouble getting my phone to even find the printer or keep it as a connected device when it does. The last 2 times I called customer support, they were very rude.

Handy app but about half the time I print with it, the document comes out blurry because it double prints. I wind up having to print it again. Wasted time and wasted ink. And then there's the scanner portion. Don't even get me started on that. It disconnects at will and it takes me 30 minutes to try and get everything reconnected, reinstalled, or whatever else it needs. I probably should have given it two stars just based on that alone because I do a lot of scanning.

Every time I use the app, it opens and then tells me that my printer is not available. I thought it wasn't working and couldn't figure out why. I was frustrated. Then, completely by accident (I was distracted by something else and didn't close the app right away), after waiting several seconds, there it was! A preview of my print item popped up and the app was ready to use. Works like a charm now... I just have to wait for the "printer not available" message to go away. If I wait, it works.

The custom size paper does not show up as an available choice even though it is selected at paper setting. Also when printing pictures, the only options are to "fill the page" or "fit the page". We need option to print at 100%, not bigger, not smaller. If the custom paper size works, then this is not an issue. Borderless printing for pictures also not available. Otherwise, it's quick and easy.

Hate that I have to sign in every time I use the app. The camera scanner quality is awful & the pages print blurred & cut off. But, it is convenient for printing from my phone, although the pages seem to print very slowly when I'm printing from the app. It's easier to scan to Google Drive, then print. But, now I have to take an additional step, which is also inconvenient.

Hp app was very simple for me to set up using the Android store. I'm a pixel user. It's simply to pair with my phone and very easy to use to print things. There's even a notification when the cartridge ink is low and also if the document(s) might have to go through more than one device to print. All of these notifications show up on your phone or whatever device you're using such as a laptop or tablet. I recommend giving it a try. Thanks for looking at my review.

Often when I want to print, it says "printer not available", as if it cannot remember the settings that have been in there for months. Then it will either work or I will have to go under the list of printer choices, to specifically choose it again. When it does work, it is actually that works fast. When it doesn't work is very frustrating and take some time to wait for.

The printer isn't recognized initially when I want to print. I get a "printer not available" message, when it most definitely is available. I have to wait until it recognizes it. Once it agrees that the printer really exists, it works just fine. Also, it tells me when my ink is getting low, which is great, but I'd like more information. Which color? HOW low? Can I see a graphic with the levels of all colors so I can anticipate low ink? Etc. App is functional, though. Gets the job done.

We also have the same issue, that the printer sometimes does not appear until the power is turned on, and you scroll through printer options (multiple listing of the same printer, though just 1 or 2 options actually work). Would like to figure out how to add an email to Settings, so scanned items can be sent to an email. We often have to juggle which device will be able to print this time? We do like the app and HP Instant Ink subscription.
