app has always worked fine for me. for some reason, my refund was rejected this year. when I try to go into the app and fix it, I get a connection issue error. I've tried it on mobile data and on wifi, and it does the same thing. I can't even log in before it flashes multiple times on the screen, and when I click reload, it makes me have to redo my login. so frustrating I have to call in to fix this.
I have been an H&R Block customer for years, but this service has kept getting worse! They lie about the "free" service and then you have to jump through hurdles to change anything. I would recommend to use another app and DO NOT TRY TO USE THE TAX PRO REVIEW!Don't expect to get any real help unless you pay to have your taxes done through an actual agent! Even with paying for the drop off service, I'm still not able to get any answers about the situation.
I'm filling my taxes like I normally do right and couldn't via website since it was constantly refreshing and logging me out of my account. Download the app to do it. its constantly wanting me to pay for the premium versions for taxes which I kept saying no to. At the end my return supposed to be $280 or whatever. They forced a ton of fees on me that basically made it to where I owe $20. I don't understand it I don't know what they changed and I'm having a bad day now thank you.
the apps terrible. I couldn't import any of my w2s which wasn't that big of an issue but if I open a second window on my phone to pull the info because everything is online it closes out and i got to log back in everytime. also half of the time it doesn't recognize my username. now the most irritating part is it claims free but when you go to finish up your being charged and you have no option that ive seen to cancel the payment like the app claims.
not the best experience. they want me to review before ive even finished filing my taxes, I had a typo when putting my ssn in my hnr account, which resulted in a typo on the w2 that could not be fixed. I couldn't fix the mistake, and had to delete my account and make a new account to change it. The customer service chat bot is absolutely useless and infuriating. only reason I'm still trying to use it is because its free.
Awful. I usually file in store for a stress-free tax experience, but with the pandemic I decided to e-file. Damn app wouldn't list my existing emerald card account as a refund deposit option, so I guess I'll wait months for a paper check. Also when I tried to contact customer service, no associates were available to take my call. Tried troubleshooting by looking up my issue, couldn't find anyone discussing the problem because of the sheer number paid ads for the exact service I was trying to use
I found this way easier than turbo tax. Incomes and taxes were roundest to the nearest dollar, too. I found items on the state returns that turbo tax never even had, and it got me a way better state return. If there is one thing that needs improvement, it is the lag that occurs if you step away from the app. I had to get my bank details, and when I returned, the Green 🟢 wouldn't stop spinning. After rebooting my phone and logging in again, everything else was right where i left off. Thanks!
Roped me into paying more this year than needed. Wouldn't allow me to edit information I needed to, or start over as a way to fix the issue. **(To the response to my review. I'm aware of how cost is determined. I checked boxes for some possible deductions, which caused the app to require me to upgrade. When they weren't explained well enough, and I was unable to use those deduction tools, I couldn't go back an unclick those and go back to my original level of filing.)
Well, it's a little more convenient than going online, right up until the last step of entering dates and it bugs up and messes with the number entry. Eventually it seems to work. Not sure what filing is supposed to cost, but I certainly couldn't imagine it being a penny more. Not sure i really know what I'm even getting for the money anymore.
Good: submitting W-2s by photo; moderately streamlined overall. Bad: DO NOT BUY PLUS. Even though I entered EVERYTHING on the free plan, when I upgraded to Plus, then decided to go back to free because of the fees, I had to start from scratch "because information doesn't transfer between plan tiers". That's really underhanded, and it's a great way to make sure I NEVER buy anything from you. Pages are jittery if I scroll to the bottom, with some vibrating up and down wildly.
I used the app last year and it was quick and easy. This year, it tells me my password is wrong and I keep enabling fingerprint access and it never works. The app keeps crashing and/or telling me I have a poor signal (I'm on home wifi with a strong signal). The state taxes won't finish so I can file. It demands that I rate this app before proceeding. I may not get to file at all this year.
The price is ridiculous anymore so I decided to use Intuit this year. Although it costs too, it's less than H&R Block. Some of these tax preparation services say free until you get to the end and need to submit then they hit you with the fees. It's a deceptive tactic I think. I'm sure if you can afford it or are getting big a big refund it's a good app, but as for some like us folk who can't afford it, I'd rather shop around lol.
9 times out of 10 you get a blank screen when trying to sign in. the app is not responsive when this happens. it's frustrating when you are trying to log back on to finish up. just did the new update today and it's happening again. some serious changes are needed. I'm just going to add that you should not use this product. Trying to e-file and it freezes and puts you in a loop so you never get back to where you left off. this is after paying them over $100. Now trying to call to finish up.
I dont appreciate being tricked into upgrading for "free" and being charged for it after finishing my tax return. I also dont like finding out that you are going to charge me to put the remaining balance into my bank account. hint, dont claim to be free and upgrade for $0.00 dollars only to surprise me at the end. It's all good though, I was able to file with credit karma for free and got the same results without the surprise payment at the end.
The app wasn't horrible to use. I used turbo tax first to compare. They both gave me the same refund but H&R block was $10 cheaper than Turbo Tax. H&R Block listed a free option and after clicking on the upgraded option to see what it was about, it would not let me go back to choose the free option which I didnt like. Turbo Tax was way more user friendly though. It was easier to use and simplified. My friend uses Turbo Tax and said there is a free option but I did not see it listed.
I've used h&r block to complete and file my tax return for the last 3 years now and will continue to use them as well as recommend them to everyone! SO SIMPLE and CHEAP! Not to mention quick! You can just take pics of your documents and they fill in the info so you can't make a mistake. You can also have a tax pro look it over to ensure its all good before filing in case you're not sure of something.
nearly useless app. Ir will run you in circles over and over, constantly suggesting if you double the payment of service you will be able to complete your taxes and file, rather than getting to the issue at hand. I was also charged multiple times, so the final cost was nearly 3 times what I intended to pay to FINALLY finish my taxes
Got through my taxes, it said they are ready to send, and now the app keeps crashing, won't load, or will load a screen that I can't do anything on and must restart. I've been struggling with this since yesterday, it barely lets me log in half the time. I'm NOT paying anybody to file my taxes because they're ready but the app simply won't work. Very irritated. Very disappointed.
Long, asked many of the same questions. I wasn't given the refund on a pre paid debit card like some of the other tax prep apps do. lastly they took way too much of my tax return they took almost 20% of my return. I almost didn't submit my taxes but they would have been late if I didn't hurry up and get the paperwork in. I will not be using there service next year.
Could not navigate the web site. Terrible. Never had so much trouble. 1st - birthdays- had to click back 58 years TWICE. 2nd - free or plus- would not let me proceed until I chose plus. I wanted free. 3rd - Import- could not import. 4th - box 13 and 14-would not let me enter what was in those boxes. Wanted me to pick one that was incorrect. Simply put, your online app is impossible to navigate. Extremely frustrating! And, your automated inquiry could not answer a single question.
