It's fine. It gives instructions for taking their COVID tests. I don't like that it appears to have control over my volume--if my volume is off, the videos will still have sound. I don't like that for privacy and annoyance reasons. That permission and access is unnecessary. I do like that it can track my results. And I can set reminders to test. I like the timer. I can send results. I do like that there are two versions of results pages: one with your name and one without.
I over-think things, so I struggled with some things during instructions. Make sure you loosen the cap on solution first! All of mine and my family member's test kit bottles have been on so tight, it was necessary to use pliers to unscrew it. This causes you to miss audio instruction playing on your phones iHealth app. If you don't pause in time, you may not be able to go back to the point you need to.
App is too rigid and does not allow for you to skip through steps you are familiar with once you've watched the videos a few times. Additionally, if you test and get a negative, the app will suggest retesting in 1-2 days. If you go back on day 2, it will say you're past the retesting day. All in all, this app is only really useful as an individual user for keeping track of your results over time. Otherwise, just watch the vids once and do the timer yourself.
I prefer to read paper instructions over watching the equivalent videos, and this app makes recording test results the most painful process possible. You are forced to watch (or skip through) several videos that all start playing fullscreen and with sound. Even if you turn your volume down, every step's video resets your volume so that you have to turn it down again. Where's the option to say that I can read and don't need obnoxious videos? It doesn't exist.
After installing, the agreement terms for access to my phones camera, and photos, etc were too intrusive without an explanation, kind of a turn off. You should give people access to the introductory video and instructions for the covid test, first, with a clear explanation of why you need all that access. I uninstalled it right away. This is a disincentive to testing.
Forces you to give them contact info just to watch the videos. I downloaded the app since the limited instructions in the package said I should watch the videos in the app to see how to do it properly. There is no way to use the app in any way, without first creating an account and supplying your personal information. This app is data mining at its worst. They are essentially withholding critical instructions for using their test properly in order to force you to hand over your data.
Easy to follow directions accompanied by videos. The videos appear each time you open the app, however after you become familiar with the process, you can simply advance to the next step in the video, which is a simple enough workaround instead of watching the step-by-step video process. The videos can also be helpful to those who use multiple brand tests to ensure the directions are followed accurately. The app works as described with no latency issues.
Very easy to use. Clear instructions. Helpful timer feature. Most difficult thing is that it isn't the full app name listed on the box. -very nice that it keeps a record of your tests w/dates and results: in case you need to show proof somewhere, or just remember when you had the last one -CDC data collection is available, but totally optional
Easy to use with clear instructions. Only downside is that the 15 minute alarm doesn't sound when my phone is locked. This is pretty important since the instructions mentions possible false results after 30 minutes, otherwise the app is very handy for holding the history of your results and the ability to report your result to the CDC.
Update, after updating, the application is working well now! Did my first test and everything worked fine. I went back to the app to add a family member and I get some sort of network error. I go to add my Vaccine info or create a group I get the same error, when I go to my profile the app crashes and closes. I can't find a place to get any sort of support.
Does it do anything besides making a lot of unnecessary noise? I don't know if this app is any good or not, because the stupid thing insists on running a video, at full volume, and kept turning on the sound on my phone. I kept having to turn it off because I'm in a library. I finally just uninstalled the stupid thing. I know how to read instructions and I've done the test before. When I mute my phone, your app shouldn't turn the volume up to the loudest it can get. And certainly not 3 x.
There are detailed instructions included in the box, this app provides step by step video instructions and a convenient timer indicating when to check the test results. The complaints in other reviews I read (switching from landscape to portrait, having to confirm each step, etc.) are true, but are only minor inconveniences - the app isn't intended for every day use. My Android phone did go to sleep while the timer was on, but when I checked it with 8:05 remaining, it didn't go to sleep again.
At the end of the test it optionally sends results to the CDC. I accidentally sent the wrong result for me (because the field was already filled in from having sent the result for another person just before and I didn't notice until after I hit "send") and I can't figure out how to correct the incorrect result that I sent to the CDC. Otherwise the app and video were helpful in leading us through the test-taking.
Easy to use, the video and instructions. My only complaint is that I turned my volume down repeatedly to turn off sound and follow instructions only and after each step, every video TURNED MY SOUND ON which was infuriating. If I turn my sound off, DO NOT turn my sound on without asking me, forcing to have my sound on.
Firstly, very frustrated that I even needed to download an app when this could have been written on the box or on a website. Second, incredibly obnoxious that I have to create an account to access the information. Lastly, it's just a terrible app. Give me a written list of instructions. I don't need a bunch of autoplaying videos that force my phone in to full screen and don't let me back out of it, won't let me skip to the next screen because of a pop up. Just give me a list of instructions.
Easy to follow directions, step by step including the count down timer. Same with reading the results, easy to read results. And has simple way to send results to the CDC and your PCP. Wish all testing could be handled in this same manner. And no ads to be seen at all. I say thumbs up. And 5 stars for this app is great!
Mostly it was nice to have the instructions. The ending was awkward because the way that it wants to email results to your provider is through a CSV file which is ridiculous. They should just set up an email dialogue. Also, it was hard to exit the instructions once you were done
Great App. 1 flaw. It won't let you delete a person if you create in error or duplicate a family member. Other than that it's a great app. Also it would be great if better instructions were given for managing groups. What is the control number you are supposed to enter for a person for testing?
Asking me to confirm every click was annoying. Flipping from landscape to portrait and back again during the video was annoying. Like others have said, letting it sleep during the timer does not seem to be a good idea. However on my phone, my timer alert sound rand, so all good! Otherwise, easy to use. Would be nice to have adjustable font size.
Great app. Did everything you would expect plus more. It will also send your results to the CDC. It tells you instructions step by step but at a slow pace which is good esp if you're not tech savvy I guess you could say. It sets the timer for you, even if you switch apps, the timer is still going. It's all in all a 10/10 in my book! You can add family profiles also which is neat.
