With recent update, app is better. But there is very basic issue when adding payee. Soon after entering account number, validation of payee name starts and concludes that name doesn't exist. This happens even before we enter payee name. There is no way to check again after payee name is entered. Not sure how this isn't flagged by their internal testing. Also, there is no option within app to give feedback.
When I tried to make credit card payment in the app, it showed an error saying couldn't make the payment, try again later. Tried several times but the same error showed up. After some days, I was charged late fee and GST for the late fee. I still couldn't make the payment in the app. I am able to make the payment on the Website. Very frustrating. I will cancel my credit card and delete the app.
As an NRI customer I use this app as my only option for UPI payments and it's an utterly frustrating experience. I need to login to the app each time, which doesn't work half the time until I force quit the app. Each screen takes forever to load. Each UPI transaction is an ordeal. I really wish ICICI makes a standalone UPI payments app that is faster and easier to use.
After the Authentication page, a pop up kind of message gets displayed that it is Loading and it takes forever... This has become a big irritation for the last few months. I had to open my laptop many a times to do my transactions. Do something instead of keeping quiet. Or at least kill/stop that micro service which is blocking users to do their transactions. I really want to like the app. When it works, it's great! however, logging in takes forever. the screen halts at every step from biometrics to adding your pin. At crucial moments, after taking forever to log in, attempting UPI payment it errors out telling you the session has expired. why let me login and navigate to all the pages just to give me this error? the developers can do better. I have had great connectivity throughout my trip.
I had a 5 star rating last year. Now I wash, I could go 0. I couldn't login, it was always giving an error, I tried to uninstall and install. Installation is almost impossible to get it working. Always failed to go past SIM verification ( US phone). Somehow one day it went past that and I could see my account. App worked only that day, since then I couldn't log back in. Always getting an error your transaction could not be processed, please try again later. Trying for few days and it never works
Icici customer care support has become dismal. It directs you to an AI that doesn't understand what you're saying or gives wrong information. it's just disruptive and unhelpful. Then if you're lucky enough to get through to customer care, the wait time keeps getting longer. It was 6 mins when I called, then 7 mins after holding for 2 mins!
Nearly 100MB (now 125MB) app for a banking, financial transaction app is obnoxiously large. Please look at making the app smaller and faster. It is too cluttered, and tries to do tooo many things, and 90% of what I do not need. However the app has been reasonably stable on my devices. Reviewing Credit-card statements is confusing. I see negative amount as payment due that is not correlated at all with transaction entries.
Such extreme latency and inability to load the app at start. Waste of time just to get the app started. With every upgrade it's getting more horrible. Edit: It has become even more useless, not even able to log into the app since last 30 mins. No improvement at all and it seems there is no point in expecting it to improve as well.
I use this app mostly for UPI transactions. What I don't understand is why do I need to close the pop-up about upi being enabled for NRI customers using intentional numbers? It's extremely frustrating to close this pop up every time. Also the functionality doesn't work fully. I can't receive money via upi because of my international number. Please fix these two issues and I'll be happy to give you a 5 stars review.
04/06/25: New app provides very less space for remarks. 11/02/23: Downgrading rating from 4 to 1 because app stopped working. When opening it everytime shows there is some technical issue and while logging it shows alert to check internet connection. So not able to use it. Also it asks for update frequently, this is also a major inconvenience to users. Are your previous than latest versions so much insecure?? Other apps and internet applications working fine on phone, but this app not working.
Please display total due amount prominently and clearly in the cards section of the app, instead of showing it in a convoluted way. I like the way it's very clear how much I need to pay right now without unbilled transactions in netbanking. Apologies if it exists and I haven't seen it properly. Speed and responsiveness has improved but user experience still needs to improve.
Taking screenshot is disabled in the latest update. This is such a regressive step and causes so much inconvenience. Moreover if the image is shared to other apps using the share option, the image is distorted. How could you break a feature that was so user friendly and working fine previously? What kind of testing do you perform before releasing the newer version? Moreover I don't understand what security benefit you get by disabling the screenshot option. Highly disappointed.
After the recent update, I'm no longer able to log in to the app. Whenever I open the app, a window pops up and says "screen sharing apps and a few other apps are installed on my phone." That window will not go away even when you click the back button. I won't be able to remove these apps as I need them for my personal and work purposes. To the developer who made these new changes, I agree that it's for the customer's security purposes, but please provide a button to accept the risk and log in.
I tried to download the upload several times. But the signia goes on rotating. Google says they have found out suspicious activity. And ICICI is not bothered to address the issue. 2. The insurance instalment amount payable says ₹9963.40. I tried to reduce the amount. There was absolutely no response from the App. 3. I am not able to set up an Autopay for the desired date.
ZERO, ABSOLUTELY NO BENEFIT... Connecting to the toll free number is horrible. Imagine if it was an emergency then you can forget any help on time, because by the time they do it's over... what you were trying to avoid is ruined, I'd rather deal in cash. All the tech available and yet they can't resolve in real-time is SHOCKING. Besides, call gets transferred and then disconnected, DISGUSTING. Luckily 3rd time someone assured to look into it, STILL await solution. JUST PATHETIC
Undoubtfully I could easily say that this is the worst mobile banking app ever made. I am wondering that how could this app get 4.6 rating. Although it is not userfriendly, that doesn't matter since many times it is unable to login. If I am try to link credit card to the app, then saving account linking is not possible and vice versa. A bank which is inthe classification of 'too big to fail' miserable failed to built a good mobile banking application. What a shame!
5Feb2026 Very sorry to see, the app still troubles while opening. Takes lot of time and hangs.. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help as well. No more the best. It was (about an year or so and prior). Of late, I see that 75 to 80% of the times it takes long to open or app just closes without any reason during login process. Reinstalled and reopened repeatedly and still the same on 29Mar2025 too..
i never thought there would be any app worse than SBI's YONO. but icici app has beaten it hands down. it is very slow and unresponsive. nothing happens in the first attempt - be it login or paying credit card bill. it takes forever to load the pages and page not found errors are common. other private bank apps are super responsive (IDFC and HDFC), those banking apps also have options to pay credit card bills from UPI.
Completely useless app. Unable to login again and again. App keeps failing without any reason. Tried reinstalling, clearing data—nothing works. For a bank like ICICI, this is shocking and unacceptable. When login itself doesn’t work, what’s the point of the app? Customer support is useless and gives no solution. Extremely disappointed. Fix this immediately.
