It's a nice app so far, connects easily to the adapter, and I was able to view the trouble codes. The pdf generation crashes the app and doesn't work, and I can find where the saved info is from the diagnostic screen. I clicked save, and it said it was saved, but where? I think that's a big downside for an OBD2 app but I appreciate that it is free and would buy it if those issues are fixed and I get more into wrenching in the future.
(Edit: I've decided to buy pro ver) I question most of the bad reviews here. Just READ the description, & any in-app guides to familiarize yourself with how it works. You'll know of possible issues that may arise & why it may be happening. If you don't have patience 2 read, it's a YOU problem, not an app problem. I've used free version for 5 years with multiple cars & 2 different generic Bluetooth OBD2 adapters with no issues, it just works. I keep one plugged in at all times. Thanks Developer
I have always promoted this app until now. Requiring your location is an absolute unnecessary permission for an OBD2 reader. I can accept needing nearby devices, but when I deny access to my location it will not connect the Bluetooth device. Clear storage and do the exact same setup with location allowed and it works. I have used this for years and hope the developers can resolve this requirement. Oddly enough, when I tried some other readers, they did not require location permissions.
Accidentally deleted my previous review by hitting the wrong button and thanks to google I can't get it back so I'll try again. First off, the developers response to my review was gibberish. I've worked over 30 years as a software developer and 24 years keeping my truck out of smog repair garages. I bought a dongle a few years ago and it's worked fine with torque pro but now I can't upgrade the tablet and I can't use torque on it so I was looking for an alternative (can use torque on my phone but not tablet). I've also used scanxl from my laptop to this adapter and no issues except the usual bt headaches. If all connections are the same for all apps as the developer claims then why is it only their app fails? I've never had as much trouble with connecting to this device with anything else. After 30 mins I just gave up. As I wrote before, I've had no issues with torque connecting to this adapter so unlikely an issue with blue tooth. I've also been testing blue driver which has it's own adapter and no problem there. I understand that it could have been connected to something else which is why I uninstalled torque and blue driver and no help. Plus, as I pointed out before when you select the adapter, you can't unselect. All you can do is pick another bt device but when I did that I could no longer get the adapter to show up again in the app. Yes, I checked the connection type first to make sure it was correct. It appears on my phone but not in 'avail devices' under this app. I can see my soundbar in the house but not this obd adapter; 2 ft away. I can see the adapter in the bt list for my phone but now within this app. At that point I just gave up. Is it because this device has a pin, don't know. Rebooting the phone has no effect. I'm not debugging the problem for them but it appears to me they just haven't properly tested this app and using customers as testers is unacceptable.
App worked twice and now it doesn't connect to my elm327 device. First time when putting the device everything worked fine and took around 6-8 minutes to connect. Then it didn't work again and like a miracle it did a second time. Since then I'm trying everything and the app just keeps changing the protocols and loading but doesn't connect. Can you help me ? I guess if it worked twice then it should continue to do so and the problem isn't in my adaptor or car. My phone is Galaxy s20 als
App is hideous. It's a huge invasion of privacy, they don't need your location. The option to turn location off is greyed out and not able to be toggled, it's irrelevant anyway because they access it through Google services, if you go app info, permissions, three dots, all permissions you'll see what I mean. The app also has permission to go through all of your data. Why would they need any of that for a car scan tool?
I have used this app for over a year. Only app that worked and still works for my toyota avensis t25/2005. Not sure about accuracy of fuel economy average reading (both l/100 and km/l) as it shows good numbers but sometimes it just doesn't add up with actual km I travel against fuel in tank. Still pretty handy app which works brilliantly to determine/erase engine light/error codes.
I own couple of cars, this app works like magic with cheap obd2 scanners, also with multiple adapters , you just simply need to connect the app with the obd2 scanner you are currently using and it works like charm. I have obd2 adapter connect in every car at all times for live data monitoring and the app works great with every adapter and every vehicle. YOU JUST MUST BE PATIENT AND SET UP THE APP PROPERLY . Then it works flawlessly
This app is wonderful,🚙 diagnostic reading with codes and descriptions are completed quickly! ptovides code + description, help sources , and reports are available for free, your able create pdf and export to email, also free! I have not purchased any upgraded versions and have received all I need to diagnose the issues with my vehicle and check engine light cause, option to clear codes, above to speak knowledgeably and eliminate price gauging. I love it completely 😊
Tried TorqueLite, it was useless, so I tried OBD Car Doctor v5.02 on my Galaxy S6 Active with the BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices available on Amazon ($18.99 on sale). It was easy to navigate and even graphed the oxygen sensor outputs. Some ads pop up but didn't bother. Well done, thank you! Update 02/24/2022 - $2.99 for the Pro version is cheap, get it!
Been using wi-fi connection with this app and obd adapter for over a year now (and regularly with my car!!! always throwing up codes). This is so easy to use and clears codes in a jiffy. As good as my carsoft and i don't have to faff around with cables.
Seems accurate, but the UI could use some work. Increasing decimal places displayed, and being able to set graph boundaries would be a start. It'd also be great if it'd calculate trip fuel usage instead of only instant.
I spent over an hour wasting my time with this app. I tried to put in my vehicle's parameters and when I go to save it it says it can't save it while it was connected and it wasn't connected. after about 12 attempts to connect to the Bluetooth adapter I just installed the app because it's useless they need to take it off the play store it until it works
I'm happy to tell anyone out there to purchase the pro version, the guys listen reply and CARE, More importantly they work to improve the app, not like most authors that are in it for the $$$$. Since the last time I used this app, it has improved leaps and bounds. Its a credit to the owners or owner as they actually do make improvements and care for us the user's. So please try the free version for connectivity purpose. Then please thank them by upgrading to pro. If there is something you'd like, just let them know. They do care and reply, but more, they will do there best in bettering the pro version. Cheers to all. James.
I used to love this app it was a good free one it did everything I wanted it to until today. I used to be able to read history codes or pending codes and now I can't do that anymore which is a basic part of being able to read codes in general. Now I can't do that and have to upgrade or unlock that function which is bull I am very upset. It is just another money grabbing tactic. It's sad how greed ruins a good thing.
I purchase this device a year ago! And it has never worked. Tried it with Android phone. Tried it with iPad. Just got a new iPad 6th generation still not working. I believe I bought this on one of the shopping channels either HSN QVC Maybe Evine. It's so disappointing how they advertise devices and they don't even work. I am so frustrated because something's wrong with my car and I cannot get the information that's needed. Everything is such a false information. They say can do all of these things then they want you to buy another device upgrade I'm sick of this world and their fale advertisement!!!!
this app is absolutely useless!!! literally every time i need to use it, it never wants to connect even though it says its connected, it wont do anything, cant run a diagnostic though it says connected, cant do anything with it, not just my car, it does this with all cars ive tried, always a stuff around, some days it works (rarely) and others it doesnt. so disappointed, it should be as simple as connecting the wifi or bluetooth then click diagnostic.
first app I found to work immediately and so quickly! 10 sec's to get results of course you have to follow instructions ( a lot of users don't do it ) 1 ) stop Bluetooth 2) stop data 3) connect WiFi to WIFI_ODBII baldy did not find a pro version (not compatible say Googl) to pay developer ...
Won't even connect. I have wifi adapter and it just says scanning. I'm already connected! What are you scanning for. Not my adapter as it works with other apps no issue. Needs location permission to boot. Get out with this garbage!
Brilliant because it found a code that my so called professional code reader did not find. From now on I'm putting my faith in the app. Thank you very much for building a kit that really does work and very easy to use. Once again I will thank you for saving me money.
