Inshorts - News in 60 words

I've used Inshorts for a long time to get my news quickly. But over the last few months, I'm seeing news from topics that I've specifically marked as "not interested." It's super frustrating. I emailed the Inshorts team to fix this, but I've gotten no response. I even reinstalled the app, but it didn't help. If you want a reliable news app that respects your preferences, look elsewhere. [Update: If this issue gets resolved, I will change my rating.]

The brief manner in which the news are put is really effective. However, some irrelevant news pieces keep popping up (more & more) even after dismissing such as 'not interested' Edit: News must be less subjective. If I want someone's opinions, I would rather be reading blogs. Of late, some of the pieces are coloured with (writer's) views. Also, for 1 out of 5 news piece, there's an error loading the news.

It is free! I have only had a short while, but it seems good so far. It is more than just a snippit headline packed with acronymns that few are familiar with. It gives enough detail but does not overwhelm reader with too much filler (because author gets paid by the word). I will keep watching for now. Thank you.

Pretty good app to stay updated. It has separate tabs for news, a personalized feed based on preferences, crisp and short news, etc. But my problem is that it takes too long to load even when I have good internet and device, sometimes glitching and crashing too.

This used to be a very nice app when it launched but now slowly slowly it's a hub of advertisement and lots of bugs. one common bug is when I open notification of any news than it opens some another notification not the one which I clicked and sometimes just click on notification and not open the app and notification also gone. this is now happens almost daily so now I am not able to to read news which I am interested and I have to go open app manually and than search that news. very frustrating

Your articles aren't neutral anymore. You should just communicate news to your audience, you shouldn't give us your opinions. Your articles seem to be biased and leaning towards the right. This is a slippery slope because what is now stopping you from filtering and/or "slightly" changing the "use of words" in your future articles? I've been using your app for close to a decade now, so I will continue to observe how you guys do. But if this continues then one fine day I will stop using the app.

After recent updates, i've observed that if there's a slight slow data connection, the news won't show or update and its very irritating. This was supposed to be less data consuming and more content as it is already running in background and consuming data as well as RAM. Please look into this matter as it is a major letdown for the users who are using this app from the very start!

For some reason, unable to open the notifications I receive from the app since last few days. The moment I click on the notification, screen goes white with blurry half and half news and picture format but nothing shows up to read. Dont know if others are facing this issue as well. Please fix the glitch. Edit: There was no update of the app showing until this review, later the update shows up. Updated and it's working fine.

I have a suggestion. please include a feature where the news keep automatically moving to the next according to a preset changeable timer from user. this should be optional and it will be beneficial to people to just read the news while workout so as to just mount the device on a stand or something and keep reading while multitasking Edit: nothing has been done yet... Pathetic

I am editing my review after 7 years, this news app was used to be daily news reader by each and every update it ui become too confusing and mix of non logical news updates. i shifted now on x for better will keep app let see any new developments came in to save it or just the keep filling all with worst ui.

The app is good,but the sign up module doesn't function at all. Moreover many articles from leading international and national newspapers such as "Hindu",,"Times of India","Economic Times of India", "Telegraph" etc. are not available. Wish If there was any seperate option for reading news in a particular newspaper then it would be very good.

I really like the Inshorts app for its concise and well-written news summaries. The English used is good and informative, but occasionally there are words that some users may not be familiar with. It would be very helpful if a long-press option on a word could show its meaning or definition. This small feature could greatly enhance understanding and make the app even more user-friendly, especially for learners. Thank you for building such a great app

I like this app. But you need to pay heed to this - there are just too many notifications with each news carrying one notification and we receive notifications even for the news we've already read in the app. So please do this one thing - make it such that the user doesn't receive all notifications of literally all news snippets, but only those news which he hasn't yet read in the app.

Edit 1: App is crashing too often nowadays. Pls check. This App marks the start of my day and gives important snap shots of major news daily, In Shorts!!! Edit 2: The inshorts misc compilation on non-news items is good yet they keep appearing again and again even after I have read them, pls work on this glitch. New Edit: Great improvement in the App.

Good app, I was getting a bunch of news daily on widget. but now the widget is not working properly, getting repetitive news, and not getting updated news.

I just want to read new in the notification banner, i want it to provide all news summary in the notification banner. So that i don't want to waste my time in scrolling news in the app.

its good to know more in short reading.... i like the idea.... and I have a request.... also cover important government moves (not politics) and stock Market.... it will be helpful for very large level of news watchers....👍😎

Best app edit 2026: Well, poor UI now. I have the app 5 stars earlier in 2017 but now the UI Is just trash. kindly provide an option to switch back to older UI .

Best General awareness app. Concised and to the point. One need not hunt for countless sources and read pages after pages to know what's going on in the world.

Repetitive news. I guess I am not able to figure out my preferences properly. Their insight section is absolutely worth and that extra star is for same
