I get plenty of gigs here. most are well below my average hourly rate, but the flexibility makes it worth it. the worst part so far has been the customer service. I haven't gotten a reply in 2 months despite my somewhat frequent check-ins. most reslcenetly a store gave me the wrong clock out code, when I ask about it she gets fidgety and I still haven't been paid. I'm supposed to go back today, and if 8 don't go and work (possibly for free) they have the power to end my profile.

Only 3 stars because although the app functions well, 80% of the notifications that I get are for jobs starting within 1 hour. That is ridiculous. I need at least a 24 hour notice so that I can prepare and meet the requirements. A one hour notice will not even give me sufficient time to drive to locations that are further away. Do better Instawork.

They have made me lose several shifts taking income away from me for simply not resolving a simple technical issue on their end. I updated my phone two months ago. The system doesn't recognize my number when trying to do the phone screening calls that's required for several shifts. I've sent several messages was told a ticket and a technical rep was going to take care of making sure this issue is going to be taken care . Nothing and this is me sending messages for days on end for weeks.

I'm still pretty new to the app but so far it's been a good experience. Without gig history, shift access isn't the best (could also be my area, not too sure). Also, some shift instructions are difficult to understand, but there's nobody to reach out to prior to applying. Communication seems to be a reoccurring issue in different areas of the app, so ensuring there are ways to contact instawork and employers posting shifts directly with questions/concerns would be incredibly helpful.

It's hit and miss. The gigs that I have been able to catch have all been great and the pay has been pretty good. However I'm barely able to book shifts because I don't receive notifications or see open shifts and when I do, by the time I go into the app to book the shift, the position has been filled. It's frustrating but the app is legit and it's worth a try, everyone's experience is different.

The app itself is decent. The UI is friendly enough and easy to navigate. The problem is I didn't find any gigs in my area that fit my skill set, work history or my income requirement (which I'm flexible on). None. Oftentimes, when searching for a gig, my search result would come back empty and the app would tell me to try again later. eventually I just uninstalled the app. other people seem to have good luck finding work, but I didn't 🤷🏽‍♂️

they make you take about a hundred different assessments and they don't even fully load to your profile after you're done taking them. I've taken numerous phone calls over and over again. I would say you have to do one phone call at least 50 times before it even takes to your profile. you also won't get jobs if the assessments aren't done. but how can you finish the assessments when they don't load after finishing. please fix this bug! I've talked to customer support numerous times.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I worked my shift but got labeled a no-show. An AI bot is the only contact I could get to report the error and it refused to escalate the problem. This app is poorly designed and it easily helps facilitates wage theft. There are also so many requirements to access better shifts-- requests for photos, voice interviews with bots, video interviews with bots, quizzes, etc. All unpaid tasks to be eligible for more shifts. Would not recommend.

Ridiculously strict for a gig app. I'm trying to pick up occasional shifts as a busser or dishwasher, etc. Something anyone with a pulse can do. It requires references from management at every job on your resume, and will not grant you access to most positions until you do a screening phone call with an AI bot. As someone who is firmly against AI and is just trying to make ends meet while underemployed, this is not an app that I feel good about using.

I will say customer service is on top of things. I appealed my suspension and they understood. I really don't mind the app. but im still curious why we need printed time sheets and the app is a timesheet with GPS on your location. there's only one job here that I want but I cant print the timesheet in time. library opens at 10. I'll print a few up incase I see the gig again. but it complicates things, & we miss some money that could've been made.

Instawork has been a game-changer for my schedule and income. The app is incredibly easy to use—finding and booking shifts is a breeze, and the range of opportunities is great. Instwork is a cool and easy app to use and navigate. The schedules you are assigned will show up on the my shift tab. Don't sync your schedule from the app to your personal calendar because I just noticed when I did that, it wasn't accurate, and it showed I was booked for a day the app didn't show. Trust me, just rely on the app to know when you're scheduled for work.

I really wanted to like this app, especially as someone who prefers gig work, BUT, support is almost non existent. I have done the same screening call multiple times to be approved for more shifts, and although it said it would be reviewed in a couple days, it has been almost 2 weeks. I reached out to support via the app, and still no response even days later. Very unprofessional to have a work app with so many restrictions and rules but yet they follow none of them when it comes to being prompt

Its been a whole month and I STILL have not been paid for a shift I worked. 3 failed payments attempts to a supposed debit card, when I've never put one on file. The app is extremely glitchy when it comes to support messages, and when it does work, I'm having to fight through Finn the AI bot to get my chat transferred to a human...if you wait too long, the chat closes automatically instead of getting you the help you need. If this isn't fixed soon, I'm done with the app

I'm editing my review to reflect the fact that I was marked as a no-show when I canceled the shift ahead of time and try to reaching out to the plan of contact and in the app it has their phone numbers as over 20 characters long and I even tried googling the correct phone numbers I couldn't find anything and I still cannot get a hold of any type of support. When I tried to appeal the suspension they put on me, the app wouldn't allow me to upload any proof I had to delete the proof to to submit.

This platform is the BIGGEST waste! I've been trying to reach customer support for 2 weeks because I can't log in toy account. I have called every number posted and every email listed, and still no one has gotten back to me! I'm told to "log in". what's the point of reaching out when you all don't return correspondence? if Iiss a shift you have no problem blocking my account, so we should be able to reach you all with NO ISSUES!

Absolutely horrendous! My positions I applied for were pending for over a week. I went thru all the trouble of getting the recommendations filled out just to have nothing approved. I contact them as to why just to be told that the coach who did the interview rejected me the first day. Why was it pending for over a week then?! And I have 10 years of experience, significantly more than other people I've known to be approved immediately, which I more than proved during the interview. Incompetence!

This app is badly optimized. It takes a long time for pages to load, and it can be frustrating doing anything. They're very slow to notify. Every time I get a notification for a job, it's gone by the time I open the app. You might have to find a program that will automatically accept these jobs on your behalf. Between the slow notifications, and slow app you will always get beat out.

For the most part, Instawork usually comes thru for me in terms of the consistency with which they post skill-specific gigs. I say "usually" because - over the past 2 weeks - in the 15-20 seconds that it takes to open and view the shift details after I receive the push notification, the shift is already fully booked. Every. Single. Time. Over the past 2 weeks. 15 SECONDS! Ive got a 4.91 rating and silver pro status, but I'm definitely no longer receiving priority access to shifts suddenly.

The app seems like a good alternative to other agencies, but after 5 shifts, I can say that it's not, in my experience. One of the shifts the client turned in incorrect hours/tried to say I didn't even work and it took a week to resolve, with getting paid taking a week and a half. Another shift was presented as paid back up, but when I arrived, I was informed they would be taking all who arrived, even if all the confirmed shifts showed up. I left and it took another week to resolve the dispute.
