The game had been a lot of fun, up until around zone 6. Specifically the 6-5 boss. The game almost suddenly increases the difficulty to impossible, unless you spend a significant amount of money. I have gotten every medal in the game up until zone 6, and have even spent a small amount of money. Still, the upgrades achieved by literally 100%ing the game up to this point and paying for some crates, are not even close enough to beating this level. It seems impossible to make any progress forward.
I love this game, so much fun. It's very easy in the first 5 or 6 chapters, but then begins to become a real challenge. The classic feel brings back lots of great memories also. One only had one issue with the game, which was a glitch that was happening that made the game impossible to play, but I emailed the devs and left a description here of what was happening. The next day the issue was fixed with an update. I'm super excited I can play again.
I'm not sure what people are complaining about. This is a game that doesn't pretend to be anything but what it is. A nice drive and shoot game. No forced ads, options to pay or watch to upgrade, and decent recovery of energy. It's a little slow to upgrade at times but not outlandish so. Overall its not to bad and a descent time killer. If you're looking for something with a plot, or super high res graphics, you're out of luck but otherwise its descent.
Actually, I was surprised at the fun I am having with this game! It is challenging but not impossible, and I enjoy the retro graphics and music. My only complaints (which are minor) are that you have to unlock hard mode for each level, and that I think the upgrade system is unnecessarily complicated. But both of those things are manageable, and I think this is at least a four star game!
It's fun to a point, but for half decent rewards you've got to watch ads for everything. You can make a few stages before you'll have to start dumping real money into the game to get the upgrades you need to make it through boss battles. Also, anytime I try to do anything other then a standard mission I get the "no internet" error. Kind of kills the fun.
Very "metal slug" feel to the game. It's not heavy on the "pay to win". Even the video ads that you can watch in exchange for loot say "We are sorry to include this in the game but it helps us develop it". I've never seen a mobile game that APOLOGIZES for including ads. The game has been VERY enjoyable so far. Anyone who enjoys metal slug, shoot em up, bullet hell games... You should download this. You will have a lot of fun, even if you don't spend a penny. keep up the great work, devs!
Pay to win in it's most trashy form! To compete at all you have to watch so many ads that it becomes so lame, so fast. If you do decide to play this free game for free, be ready for some serious gambling.. The slot machine and dice game are a scam.. then there's 8-3.. They set these high powered, long range guns right at the entrance. They can shoot you before you can shoot back, and make you run a gauntlet. If you haven't put real $ into your guns and your vehicles armor, good luck. 👎 👎
It's a good game and very fun. The problem is I've been grinding and watching ads for a while to build my truck without spending any money. But level 6-5 is the last level you will get to without spending money. Very sad. Put a lot of time into this game for it to turn into a money grab. Don't download unless you wanna spend loads of money because you can't finish without it. Don't care what the dev's say. And nobody wants to join groups for rewards or watch ads for a month to pass 1 level. SAD!
It isn't terrible, great art, nice sound, alright gameplay, it doesn't quite hit that nostalgia spot like other games at the playstore do (like for example Team Six which is a great homage to the classic Cannon Fodder). By all means not a bad game and it deserves a chance, if you have played other Archero-like games you know what this has going for.
I can almost admire a game that makes you opt in to nigh-constant advertisements, but that's an "almost." Around World 2-6 your weapons will slowly lose all effectiveness, requiring you to watch ads, gather login bonuses, and otherwise NOT play the game to progress. But hey, at least it doesn't MAKE you watch the ads. You get 3 stars for that.
this is a great little game. it's basically a hybrid of the old NES game Jackal, with more polished Metal Slug style visuals and sounds. it's balanced well, not too easy, not too hard. bosses are cool. pixel graphics are legit and spot on. the only thing id adjust are: sound fx can be very quiet and then very loud. some need normalization. music volume needs to be raised, but again, at end of level, it gets very loud. and finally, your jeep could use grenades like in the original Jackal!
First of all the targeting is a joke. Your guns will lock onto a barrel before they lock onto an enemy. Everytime. Secondly, how is it possible to not die when no less than 15 hidden bunkers open and they all have kamikazes coming out all while your facing 10 bazookas and 10 turrets launching 12 missiles each. I'm not even exaggerating. That's on stage 6, level 3, easy mode. I know the game has to be challenging, but at some point you passed challenging and went straight to nearly impossible.
Super fun arcade style shooter with especially smooth control, added plus that I don't have to hold my phone sideways when playing. I really dig the look of everything and the nostalgic pixel art color scheme. Don't be like me and dismantle duplicate parts, fuse them HA! The ads aren't overbearing and when they spring an ad on you they tend to be short and skippable. It's a good free game with game mechanics that make it different enough to not be just another top down aero fighter clone.
Overall the game is fun. Does have a high level difficulty in the upper levels. Few things that need to be fixed. 1. The snow sinpers can shoot through walls, that I can't. Same with the flame guys. They already have very long reach, this just gives them an advantage that is not needed. Part of the strategy in this game is shoot and hide. Can't do that with them. There are a few other minor things, but those two need to be addressed.
I enjoy the gameplay. It reminds me of the classic. But it is pay to win. It quickly gets so hard to kill even a simple foot soldier that it is almost unplayable before you can even get past the 9th stage. Even paying a little for some extras and the short-term ad free bonus get you so little that it isn't worth it. I'm sick of this sort of money grubbing.
It's a fun game but the energy situation sucks. Unless you feel like spending loads of money on this game, then don't even bother. Once you run out of energy, that's it. No more playing. Only way to get more energy is through in app purchasing or watching 5/5 adds. Plus obtaining in game currency is practically a waste of time. Hate to see such a great classic game get turned into just another scheme for money. Shame on the devs and their selfish ways.
The game is pretty fun, but it's VERY pay to win and progression is insanely slow. Also, PVP mode is completely unbalanced. There's absolutely no reason that I, who have been playing for a total of 5 days, should be put up against someone who's 20 levels higher than me with max gear. The first enemy in the PVP stage will kill me in one hit. That needs to be fixed to be more fair.
Very enjoyable game. I was able to play a total of 18:16 (18min. 16sec.) without a single forced ad. At the same time it had asked for a review. The pay to play packs are a little bit obnoxious for taking a decent chunk of screen space. The in game "announcer" or indicator voice is weird, at times annoying. Overall it's a well put together game. The graphics are nice with a good amount of detail as well. I support it having microtransactions. It does need a good bit of work, but is a keeper.
Game was fun for some time, but now it is dead. No support, cannot sync progress anymore, no events. Anyway, for anyone who liked this, try shooter.io, basically the same game, same graphics, same levels, but more buffs and other bonuses..
I've been playing this for more than a year. Plain and simple: game idea is good, and it can be fun for a while... but in the end it's just another ads farm and PPL (pay per lose). In more detail: PvP is completely unbalanced, not real RPG or strategy features, absolutely no way of increasing your power without paying. At a certain point, you'll have to pay top dollar for small, random (yes, random) upgrades. Besides, there's no care for the loyal community of players.
