interface is pretty simple and it is organized well. However, the links to "track" orders never works and also, if they cancel your pick up order, they don't tell you why. Pretty inconvenient. This would mean that their store inventory and app don't sync correctly - or they're just too lazy to actually check if they have items in stock. At least at Walmart, they still get what they can get ready and/or replace the items (of your choice).
This app was always glitchy, but the latest version sucks. The latest version of the app does not work at all. I cannot sign in, and I am absolutely using the correct information as it works on the desktop site. Extremely frustrating. Have seen tons of reports for this issue and yet it's not fixed. Great way to treat your customers. If our isolated town had any other place to go for these supplies, I would absolutely go there instead.
this app blows. Half the time placing an order is perfectly fine and the other half the time it's impossible because the app continuously switches the items in your bag from pick-up to shipping, etc. the items are also often not up to date based on location, so if I am able to place an order, half of it is canceled. Also, often when I go to the final step of checking out, there's some sort of "problem" and it doesn't go through. I hope they work on it and fix these issues bc it's disappointing
Ongoing problems Within the past 2 months I had a transaction go through my bank account three times, but the order never populated into my JoAnn account, AND the store never received my order. I had to dispute the charge. Today, I have tried to place an order with different cards and the app says "payment failure." I know all the cards are good for it, has to be an app problem. Of course if happens during the best sales of the year! I just wish this app were more reliable.
One of the worst apps I've ever used. It is impossible to order on it due to constant errors. It will say my address is wrong. I've lived here 35 years. Everything is accurate. I get errors about my payment method being wrong, but my credits cards are correct. The inventory lists are never accurate. It will say an item is available at a certain location, but in reality it is not. I've missed out on a lot of sales because of this app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.
Often just freezes, my cart has been stuck for two days, I can't add or remove anything. Their FAQs say to sign out, sign back in, update the app, and if that doesn't work delete and reinstall. None of that worked and I'm shocked they find this acceptable. Surely someone there uses other apps and would know this is not normal. And it's not even a one-off random situation. If it does decide to work, it won't be for long. I'm not even convinced my rewards scanned properly in store yesterday.
Horrible app experience. The search engine routinely freezes and also does not remember what section you are searching. Forget about trying to move anything from "ship to home" to "ship to store." It puts multiples of the item in the shipping method you do not want and none in the one you do, as well as completely deletes some items. I recommend going through your card with a fine tooth comb before checking out. Also, there is no ability to add something you find to a wishlist.
Just got charged for a pickup order that didn't even go through. No email or trace about the order, except for the missing money in my bank account. The app is awful. One second it shows no item available at current store, refresh and it says 6 are available. One minute I have a full cart, the next it's empty! After reading bad review after bad review on here and on reddit, I've learned my lesson. No hate to my in store experiences though because they've always been wonderful.
I have had one good experience with using Joann's over the many many years I've been going in person and ordering on the app. Codes won't work, inventory is off, and payment methods are refused. It's 100% not user error and no one at the store can help. When I call or email, I'm never met with help either, just overworked, underpaid, clueless people. It's so frustrating. The app itself is glitch and slow, it takes forever to load, and then I get to checkout and it all fails even worse.
The only reason I keep the app is that it's faster than looking online for some things. It never let's me check out and doesn't save any of my info. I can usually complete a sale online, but entering my info every time takes a while. If there are any errors, I have to start over from scratch. It's taken less time to drive to another retailer and make my purchase a few times. If you don't want my money, just say so.
I like that the app is super easy to use and I can search the coupon tab to see if there is any relevant sale going on. I do wish that there was a way to scan paper in store receipts for rewards. Sometimes (most of the time) I forget all about the app reward Barcode when I'm at the register, so I never get any extra rewards!! Frustrating.
Horrible! When you but something it may not be there. But they say they can't tell until they go to process your order. Nonsense! They need to get new IT employees and program! Today, the things I have put in my cart, I cannot open my cart as the app shuts down and closes. Now I will miss out on the one day coupon! I have had the issue with purchasing for over a year now. You put it in you cart, you pay for it and then you get an email a day or even more telling you that item was cancelled!
Crashes constantly. You can not spend more than 3 minutes in this app without it crashing and closing on a random command. So, the app is frustrating because it is unusable. The store is ridiculous. Placed an order, 5 yards of fabric, and 4 days processing now. No holiday, no disasters, no fabric still. This is why Amazon takes over. You know when your order is arriving. I have reinstalled the app, rebooted, cleaned my phone cache, app always crashes. I guess I have to get my supplies on ebay.
This is the worst store app I have ever attempted to use! The cart endlessly attempts to change your shipping/pickup selections, states that items are both in and out of stock at the same location at the same time, refuses to verify standard billing addresses, and struggles to process visa (debt & credit), master card, PayPal, etc.. It's gotten to the point where I'm so frustrated I only shop at Joann's after I've checked everywhere else 1st. I recommend only using for the coupons codes.
I haven't been able to order anything thru app since mid '21 due to an error message, "can't add items to cart," each time. If that doesn't frustrate you, then the search function certainly will. Basic keywords won't pull up as many options compared to navigating the selection menu itself. Searching by the item number or the product name yields nothing, for ex. patterns, but Google shows otherwise. These issues prevent me from using the pickup option advertised often. Wish the app worked better.
Horrible. The app crashes when using the zoom feature. It tells me there are errors in my shipping address when there are no errors. If I retype my address, it gives me another error. If I do make it to the end and complete the purchase, it will tell me for security reasons, I have to redo the order. Then, my shopping cart will empty out. This is the absolute worst shopping app I have ever used.
Great for sales and coupons . . . BUT . . . I can't find a way to turn OFF Notifications. I found it in Settings and unchecked EVERY box. I'll still getting AT LEAST one notification per day! I use the app when I take my daughter to Joanns, so I don't need (or want) to see Notifications. I'd rate the app higher IF it weren't for this apparent deficiency. 🙄
App has a ton of issues. You can barely navigate theough the shopping part, and every time you try to click on something to add to cart, it'll change multiple times on whether you can do in store pickup or have it shipped to you. And when you try to go through checkout, it's absolute hell. I've used the same address and card for multiple orders multiple times before, and it now constantly keeps saying my address is incorrect and will not let me place my order.
It sucks! My shopping cart is never right. It's a miracle if I even have anything in the cart tab besides a price and a checkout button. When applying coupons, the cart ALWAYS says nothing in the cart qualifies, which the website never does. The app used to be phenomenal, but in the last few years, it's trash. Yes, I keep it updated. I can't edit my saved for later either. I can add items all day long, I can't ever remove anything. It's frustrating and irritating. There is so much more wrong!
It literally NEVER works right. The bag will default some to shipping even though you selected pick up. Then when you try to change it, the app freezes and you get prompted to remove items. So you remove the items and suddenly "alpaca yarn" is "ice cream shop yarn" and none of the descriptions match the photos. So you go to the website and you get stuck in a "review your order" loop that you can't get out of. You all need new programmers.
