KaraFun – Karaoke & Music Quiz

I love to use this when I entertain at Assisted Living homes and long-term rehab facilities. If anyone makes a special request I can usually find it. it would be nice, though if there were a few improvements for the mobile/tablet app: 1) Being able to use a Bluetooth remote to play, stop play, and control volume. 2) Being able to play other karaoke mp3+G or mp4 files on the device. Feb 2026-Problem fixed. Thank you! Updating rating. July 2025-Was working fine until a few months ago. Option to change key of song doesn't work until the song has been playing for a minute or more. very frustrating that it takes that much time for feature to become available which means a lot of waiting and then restarting the song to be able to sing it once I'm able to change the key. Restarted phone. Uninstalled app and reinstalled and doesn't seem to correct the issue. what else is possible?

This app used to be AWESOME. Now many songs that I have enjoyed for YEARS are no longer available and others are downgraded versions. One of the best features was being able to change the key to match your vocal range and now that doesn't work anymore either. I am a long time subscriber and am probably going to cancel. VERY disappointed!

I really like the quality of the music but this app is too strict! I have login issues sometimes, and now it says they don't recognize my sign in email! I am a paying customer and they're slow to answer my emails! they should have a separate email for paying customers! and I I'm only signed in to one device at a time with their limit... funny they don't have a problem with my CC number to renew! And they need to add controls to a full screen!

was great until a week or so ago. several of us have this app (paid version) and none of us can get through an entire song without stalling or not loading at all. We have tried phones, android, and iPhone, and computers or laptops. It must be poor servers, tons of memory usage. No app on any device can make it through an entire song glitch free. Thanks for the reply but it's apparent what went wrong. 8 of us, all different devices, experiencing the same issue, on the same app.

Running app on PC is ok. The songs sound weird, like they are covers of the real songs and some cut off the end. I was thrown off during a song when it played the ending line early and then played a verse after. I tried the premium for a month, but it is not worth paying for another. Changing my review to 1 star. The song list lies about the version of the songs. I've had multiple songs have different lyrics from the stated version. Some of the lyrics are just wrong for other songs.

Loads fast and fun on my Samsung S22 with home wifi. Lots of songs are available and most are note-perfect! Some however, screw up the tempo of certain phrases and get the lyrics wrong. Sadly, you don't discover this until singing the song. It would be best to preview the songs and make playlists of your best choices. Yes, I do recommend this app.

Generally, the app and service are great. One bit of feedback, though. After using the Voice Match feature, the list of songs is very dim - almost illegible. At first I thought I'd turned the brightness way down, but the header and footer of the app are still at normal brightness. I'm in a dark room, and I had to turn the brightness way up just to read them.

I absolutely love Karafun! The voice match feature is great. It lists the songs in your vocal range. There's also tempo and key settings so you can really make a song your own unique version. I use Karafun for practice so I feel more prepared for songs when I attend karaoke. This means I use the mobile version. I do wish it would continue in the background so I can keep practicing even when I have to respond to a text or email.

I've used karafun for years. Always a hit. Simple to use. $5.99 for 48 hrs of unlimited songs is worth it for the every now and then party. $9.99 a month sub for anytime access. Yes, the catalog takes time to load, the first time. It's over 25,000 songs. Use a desktop or laptop for faster catalog lookup, or use the search function. Way better option than purchasing tracks. There is pitch and key adjustments as well. The app is better used with an active speaker. very simple.

07/28/2025: I tried other apps and their inventory is very meager compared to the voluminous choices of songs in this KaraFun app. The songs are mostly the best of the 1900s thru now. It was too rough trying to stream the songs direct from the server. I learned to download them play. I've downloaded over a hundred songs and it works great. 02/25/2025: ok I had too many songs on favorites. I took some out and it's working much better. Also helps to put songs in the queue one day ahead of time.

I don't write many reviews, but this one is definitely warranted! This is the best karaoke app EVER! Nothing else even comes close. Here's why: 1) phenomenal selection, including several songs I've never seen anywhere else in 20+ years of doing and DJ'ing karaoke 2) excellent sound quality 3) ability to adjust or turn off lead and backing vocals individually! 4) ability to adjust pitch & tempo without ruining the sound quality 5) it's not free, but is a great value for all you get

App always loads quickly and streams without too much buffering, it tends to be faster than when I use the app on my laptop. The ONLY thing I would wish for is to let you log in on PC and the phone at the same time to use phone as a remote for the app, I know that's way complicated and probably nowhere on the radar but that would make it a lot easier for me when we're all hanging out singing so that I don't have to be locked behind the screen all night.

I love the app, I wish you had an android remote app for regular users (not subscribers) that can be used to connect to the remote control, and be able do save their songs from one session to another. I personally have a subscription, but I also go to other sites ran by friends, and would like to keep my Playlist of favorites between them all.

I originally subscribed to Karafun because I liked their quality as a karaoke service. Tempo and key control and voice volume are features I cannot live without, as long as they are implemented with quality. Unfortunately, their standard of quality is inconsistent. Some songs have merged vocal tracks, so I cannot sing just one part and have the track handle the rest. It's still quite a high-quality service and app, but that leaves it disappointing when it misses the mark.

The concept is really good, execution is abysmal. The app constantly buffers, skips, loses connection, and crashes. I have tried multiple tablets, and phones ranging from older devices, to brand new Note 10+. Im running on a 200mb internet connection with enterprise grade WIFI. Nothing seems to help the terrible performance of the app. What a waste of time and money. *UPDATE* I dropped it from 2 stars to 1. Remote devices add 3 copies of each song. Opening the queue crashes app. Worthless..

I Love this app and use it a lot!!! BUT PLEASE PUT THE MINI PLAYER BACK THE WAY IT WAS!!!! it is now way too small to use in your que screen and doesn't move forcing you to use full screen and not have access to your que list. You can't adjust your set without having to rotate the screen every time which looks very unprofessional and stops the flow. IT WAS PERFECT THE WAY IT WAS PLEASE PUT IT BACK!!! THANK YOU!!!

Thousands of songs, although, sadly some popular tracks are unavailable due to 'licensing' - come on CR owners, licence the songs we are in a digital age! Good options to add in lead vocals for practce/helping less confident singers/duets. Great idea to use a QR code to allow others to browse/add songs. Loses a star as you need a very strong net connection for casting or music may stutter. leaving the app the words will still play now but the music stops and it goes silent.

It's a good karaoke app with lots of song selections. They update it frequently and its great overall. moving songs around in a playlist is awful on Android. you can only move 1 song at a time and then have to save it every single time...if you try to move two, it won't do it. And we could use the option to duplicate or copy a playlist.

Great app, but the only downside there isn't enough newer rock or metal songs. Some of my favorite bands like nothing more or beartooth only have one single song yet mainstream pop artists have all of their discography listed. Would be nice to get more songs by such rock or metal bands on this app so there's more for everyone. But again it is still fun.
