KillApps: Close Apps Running

Was using another app that I was very pleased with, until they changed the UI and things were not as good as they once were. Decided to give this one a try and so far I'm very pleased with it. The ads are not "in your face" and didn't cover up anything they're not supposed to. Whitelist is right there on the home page (along with apps that failed to close at last run). Even shows you how much memory is in use. Definitely would recommend!

Have to buy the pro edition to be able to close system apps. Which, let's be real, is why we all downloaded it in the first place. Just be a paid app or make that clear. Classic bait and switch marketing tactics. Upon typing this out, you go from 3 stars to 1, simply for the insult to the knowledgeable and for preying upon the less knowledgeable. Edit: And it does not even work as intended. Maybe that comes with buying pro, too. You truly are bottom barrell.

Update: the developer reached out to me and was able to walk me through the process of fixing my issues with the app. It is once again working perfectly. Excellent customer service, I am really impressed! Don't know what happened, no longer works last 2 updates. I'm on pro version. Nothing closes anymore. Tried the uninstall, reboot, reinstall and still not working at all. Everything ends up in the "closing failure" list and nothing is being force closed anymore. This was my favorite app, so much so that I paid for the pro version and I don't pay for apps!

This is my favorite app. Once I figured out which apps to add to the exception list, all I need to do to shut off invasive apps that stay running that shouldn't, I just hit the arrow and those apps are turned off. For the phone I use for a navigation device, this app helps me keep stuff shut off and works great. My battery really does last almost twice as long on all my devices now. You gotta try it to understand just how many apps you aren't using that chew up battery and data.

Does what I need it to do. Closes all running apps. Apps that seem like they're already closed, because I closed out of them, and my phone doesn't show any apps open. This app shows me that they're still running in the background though, and sometimes I'll have 20-30 apps running, using up all my processing power. This app actually closes and turns them all off, with one click of a button. (System apps cant be closed without paying for premium though, that's the only reason I dropped a star)

Nitrous in an app. I was looking for an app to kill all the junk running in the background and decided to try this, being skeptical the whole time. The app installed very quickly and after using it the first time, It only took about 15 seconds to run, but I couldn't believe the speed difference after it finished. Now my phone runs like I just bought it and no longer gets overheated. I'M SOLD. Simple straight forward design and very effective.

Works really well. easy to use. the best app for speeding up your phone. it turns apps off VS hibernating them and leaving them running in the background. Extends the battery back to original by turning off apps that are running in the background all the time. The buy version turns off a lot of the apps using a lot of the memory. thanks again!! If you use a number of really "chunky" apps on a routine basis, this fixes what results when you've got a few going at the same time. That...and nothing else. It's simple and it works...I wish everything on the Play Store was this effective! And you can set your "don't turn off" apps up so that KillApps ignores them...perfect for background apps such as VPNs, etc. A total win!

I bought the pro version, which is extremely rare for me, so that's a strong endorsement. There is room for improvement. There is a (small) learning curve, the documentation is a little incomplete, and it has some "idiosyncrasies." Therefore, four stars. BUT, the most important thing: it works. For reasons I don't understand, other apps, even apps with zillions of downloads, could not kill anything. This app, however, kills almost everything and tells you if it couldn't kill something.

Reformated my phone and now needed an easy to use app that closes all those pesky apps that remain open in the background, because those are a battery drain. Found this app and love it. There's one button you press, poof... it closes all user-installed apps. You can mess with the other settings for a deeper closing, such as system apps, but I don't use those because I simply want to close the apps that I opened up that day, for example. I highly recommend this app.

Works EXACTLY as advertised! Even the free options are more than enough to close those pesky apps. I needed something to close apps that 'continue to run in the background' EVEN after I did a force close.. for example Instagram! I would FORCE close it and it would start back running an hour later. With KillApps + my custom list, it gracefully closes all running apps I put in this list! I definitely see a big difference in battery saving. Finally some developers who know what they are doing!

I LOVE THIS!! I actually had some serious phone troubles. Every app was stuck on 'active'. It wouldn't let me toggle it off. It was crushing my data and the battery couldn't stay charged. It saved me when I was in a rough spot. Now I use it all the time. Thanks to the exception list my music can run and not miss a beat. I love it.

Hands down the best for android 8.0 or higher. Since 8.0, the other apps don't work using the method that worked on previous OS' even if it appears to be working. KillApps actually closes apps thus freeing their memory making your phone fast again especially when something starts hanging up without having to reboot! It also has all the other critical features such as ignore list so my alarm clocks will always work. Buy the very affordable pro version! The ads take up a surprising lot of memory.

Highly recommended if your phone runs hot, is sluggish, charges extremely slowly, and will not hold a charge. It's likely that you've downloaded so many apps that they're all running in the background, using up the resources and creating heat in the process. My phone would charge all night and be at like 20%. Now it's at 20% in like 5 minutes. It keeps it's charge all day long and stays cool. This is the only app I've ever paid for the full version. It's more than worth the $1.49.

I have used this app for at least 2 years & this is by far the best app for closing unwanted or annoying apps that run in the background of your phone (including system apps that don't need to run get closed). The small fee I paid to stop all apps was well worth it. I love how you can pick & choose which apps you want to close. Download this app it's worth taking the time & paying money on!!!

I needed an app that would let me take charge of numerous apps etc. running in&out of background on my phone.... The stuff that slowly drains & (more permanently) kills my battery. I wasn't going to let TWO batteries be destroyed early and unnecessarily & knew such an app would help me avoid the second time. It's a lightweight program that does exactly what I wanted it to do, without doing anything else. If more people understood their phones, almost everyone would use KA all the time.

Excellent app. Easy to use. Unfortunately the free version doesn't shut down the system apps, which are often the greatest part of the lag problem. It also doesn't clear the cache of the apps that it does shut down. I would have given it the full 5 stars if it was free and it did these things. Since these features cost money, I didn't test them and thus do not know how they would perform.

I bought the Pro version, and this works really well closing those damn apps that keep running in the background. Once I sign on I immediately run this app to close all those that open automatically. It closes an avg of 76 to 97 apps and brings that total down to 4 or so for the UI. I did have to uninstall it once and then reinstall it when it stopped doing its job, but that was once in over 3 years of using. I run it a couple of times a day and it does a great job of shutting down apps

Don't know what happened to my earlier reviews, plural, but here we go again. It is darn near flawless. Sometimes it'll tell me no apps running but I know they are, still trying to figure out why that is happening. The developer is responsive and did a great job on this. Too bad Google restricts apps from automatically closing other apps. The developer told me it's Google Play policy and he's not allowed to make it do that.

I love it. Of course anyone can go thru manually and close open background apps, but this takes all the work out of it for me. And I can get pretty busy sometimes. I have 3 phones & a tablet I stay connected to all day, and a few minutes here or there just for me to take a breath is a Beautiful thing. This app is wondering to say the least. Respectfully Theo
