DO NOT SPEND MONEY IN GAME!!!!! My friend was a part of making this game and he told me that as soon as you use bought items in game, it automatically increases the difficulty (making you still lose and keep wanting to spend more money) its a decently fun and basic TD game, but you are better off not spending any money and just earning by playing. would definitely give 5 stars if it weren't for the "casino" tactics.
well put together tower defense game that plays as an ideal game of its sort, easily losing track of time in. As you progress, however, the pay to win wall creeps up on you. Rather sinister in its subtlety, I would suggest the game if not for that. If the game's intent was to entertain rather than to hook then bleed you dry. I'd have actually invested in it, would really like to see a game that's there to entertain rather than fleece. That sorta thing ppl would naturally support!
Played this like 12 years ago. Still good now. Ideal sort of free game: almost as polished as a pay game - not a watered down experience. They used this game to sell several sequels, and that's where the profit came from. So if you finish this game and want more, they do have more you can buy. I wish more developers could follow this model, instead of monetizing by either cramming in tons of ads, making games pay to win, or producing a very low quality game and still cramming in constant ads.
Exactly what is advertised. I'm telling you, I have scoured the play store looking for legitimately good games... this is of the VERY few good games... great art style, very juicy, crunchy gameplay, engaging gameplay, unlockables, achievements, easy to understand... I could go on and on. Bravo, I commend the design and development team for an incredible job on this game.
This is the first legitimate tower defense game I've found on the play store. It plays just like the old flash games on the computer in my youth, and gives zero pressure to purchase anything. No ads, no hassles, just pure nostalgic enjoyment, which is refreshing in this day and age. Love it! Especially love all the little Easter eggs and hidden achievements you can find, it's so fun!
I didn't think I was going to enjoy this game as much as I do. It's more strategic most TD games, with a bit more freedom. Example, I played a level three times using different tower, placed in different areas, had different results and won 2 out 3. So far earning currencies seems reasonable and to receive more you have a choice of watching ads. Oh, NO FORCED ADS... SO FAR.
As someone who has played these games on PC for years (RIP flash), it translates well as a mobile game. There are a few hours worth of gameplay, maybe more if you are a completionist. There are hidden bits of comedy to be found by clicking on the stage environments, which doesn't hurt. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.
Great game. I've been playing for around 3 months and haven't experienced any kind of glitches, loss of progress, or lagging. Don't really have any ad interruptions or ads between levels. It's challenging and moves along quickly. Easy to understand, not too many things going on that cause distractions. The only issue some people might have is how challenging it can get. It feels like you have to buy items to defeat some levels. It's possible to beat them without purchases, but it gets hard.
It's a very well-made game, with minimal ads, interesting and varied gameplay. It's definitely a big step above most mobile tower defense games. It's just really hard! Even on easy, I'm struggling to get past "the dark tower." I even followed the walkthrough (1st time this game) but enemies kept breaking past. I started to get really frustrated but eventually with the right upgrades I was able to continue. Definitely a good game for those who like a challenge.
This game is awesome. No ads, little to no spending and great game play. Like others said, the levels do get quite difficult with time, but it makes for a challenging opportunity. The only dislike I have is that the hero gets selected by default(or by accident) when in a battle. I try to click on a tower and I get the X saying that I can't move my hero there, but All I wanted to do was to select the tower and not the hero.
I remember this game from when I played it years ago, back in an age when Flash was supported. Upon finding out it had been moved to an app, I knew I had to download it and go through the nostalgia. The overall main game is enough to keep it interesting to the end, with maps having minor variances in mechanics along the way. The facts that the store is not required for the main game and that ads are 100% optional, they make this game, without a doubt, something to enjoy.
This game is great! I played through on easy level, there were no ads and it wasn't necessary to purchase anything. It's fairly simple gameplay and intuitive as well but there are enough options to offer diverse play styles. I made a purchase at the end just to show support since it's seems so rare to find a game that isn't pay to win. This one is worth a try if you like tower defense. One issue: if I paused a game and the phone went off, the game couldn't be revived.
this game is really good. Just one gripe, whenever I play, the pause button is placed in such a way that even glancing it with a finger will trigger the menu. Combined with the fact that the two biggest buttons in the pause menu are "restart" and "quit," I get sent back to the battle menu much too often in the middle of a game. Please fix this, or at least add a "Do you really want to quit/restart?" before I get kicked out of a game I was doing really well on. Edit: Happened AGAIN!
Funnest tower defense game I've played. The gameplay, characters, and right engagements, down to the 1x1 unit levels are spot on. Really well done. Furthermore, there is a ton of variety in options, maps, and new units. A lot of work went into this. I'd really like to see a x2, x3 speed option. Some of the battles take a little bit of a time commitment if the units are slow moving.
Hands down! this is the quintessential game when it comes to mobile games. A classic tower defense game , made special by absolutely fantastic art style. Not to mention its solid game play, responsive controls and an overall charm as you take down wave, after wave of enemies. You get the sense the studio not only wanted to make this game, but also had a fun while they were in production. This is THE tower defense game for mobile.
Game was definitely not meant to be a cash grab. Love that. Every single level (including all Iron and Heroic) is beatable without an enemy or extra. Took a long time to do so but just great timing and tower mix. Overall it's a very fun game, great music. Not liking how to the screen jumps to another part of the screen sometimes when I click to put either rain of fire or soldiers somewhere. And it zooms in at the bottom of the screen when building. Completely unnecessary. Still 5 stars though.
I love this game! one of the best tower defense games ever put to design by far. the style and art direction is instantly recognizable while keeping things readable. the only negative I have is the heroes. the very pay to win nature of the heroes is slightly disappointing. I just hope that doesn't become a bigger thing in later games. thankfully the prices are pretty fair.
Compared to other tower defense games; kingdom rush has consistently been at the top of the genre, right alongside "bloons tower defense". This game has all the right things to make it stay at the top, even here on the first game in the series: nostalgia, replayability, good graphics, quirky art style, great gameplay, and a lot of range as far as enemy types, locales, and tower types go. This game is absolutely one of my favorite td titles of all time, I'd recommend it to any fan of the genre
It's FREE, and offers what feels like a very fine tuned tower defense experience that offers variety and challenge, coupled with the fun addition of the player controlled heroes to help cover weak points and mix things up in the gameplay. Once I've started, it was hard to stop until the end. The payable extra hero classes are surely fun and powerful, but you absolutely do not require them to beat any level, difficulty, or challenge. You just need wits and determination (and a guide sometimes..)
If only all apps could replicate the replayability and balance of difficulty. I have come back to this game several times to replay just because it's fun to play through. With the right strategy you can play through all difficulties and levels without paying. One of the few games I wouldn't mind putting money into because they deserve it, not because you need to.
