KIRO 7 News App - Seattle Area

Every single time I click a notification it goes into the app and freezes. I can do anything. The only thing I can do is go to my phones history and clear it from my history so I can get out of the shop and use my phone. The August 2nd update made this an unusable app. It doesn't matter if I click a notification or click on the app itself. If I enter the KIRO7 app it freezes. Please fix this.

The same repetitive commercials are very annoying. It constantly has an "error" message. It's the same issues for the Amazon fire stick app. Somedays are better than others but ultimately I would not recommend this app. My rating has nothing to do with the morning crew. Nick Allard is my absolute favorite! This review is strictly based on the performance of the app.

The app is great and provides local info crisply. but one bad thing is that the auto play video ad on the top of the screen is so annoying that it always push me not to come to this app. You can show display ads inline in context just like Google news app but don't annoy with auto-play ad. they are distraction.

Mostly terrible app. When it does work (which is only during literally every other update), the news stories are decent. The settings are an absolute joke...I have all boxes UNCHECKED except for sports alerts and severe weather alerts; yet, I get 7 or 8 completely irrelevant and unrelated alerts all day long. The "quiet time" function is nice...when it works...which it doesn't. I still get alerts during my selected times if I haven't silenced my phone for the night.

I've been using this app for a several years and for the last couple weeks every time I try to open it l get a message to check my internet connection the it shuts down. My internet is fine, everything else works. Unistalled and reinstalled, didn't fix the problem. Removed app and created a shortcut to the website on my home screen. I suggest that for anyone having similar problems. Android OS oreo 8.1.0

Terribly designed app for listening on long commutes. The radio is just static in some parts I travel through, so I wanted clear audio. I open the app and 12 ads immediately play before I get to hear the news, very often the same ad repeats right after it ends. Content jumps around, one program is playing and I don't get to ever hear the end because it gets cut off with 10 more ads before something entirely different resumes that I was never watching. Going to listen to a different station now.

The amount of commercials you need to watch just to see a tiny bit of news is ridiculous. And then after sitting through the commercials, half the time there is no video to see. Then more commercials, then more... I finally gave up when I just went to adjust settings and all I got was an ad to stare at.

This app is a mess. You can't find anything. When you get a notification for breaking news, it just loads a video that has nothing to do with the article, just general news of the day. The tv channel is cool. The app needs work. Redownloaded it to try it again - still 1 star quality. Still keeping it uninstalled.

I have quiet hours set, yet every night around 11 my phone goes off with some alert. Also when you send a breaking news alert for a live announcement from the governor dont make me watch a 15sec ad then tune me in late to the announcement. Especially when the ad always glitches and take 45sec instead of 15. Most of the time by the time it loads the main information for announcement is over and now I have to go find a written article to find out what was said.

It would be nice if the content could be cast to my TV via Chromecast. It sucks trying to see, and hear, the important news alerts on my phone when I can cast other sources to my TV where I can see and hear better. Speaking of breaking news alerts, I downloaded the app to get breaking news and updates about this pandemic. But some times when I click the alert, instead of the topic mentioned in the alert I have to sit through a live broadcast where the alert topic is never mentioned.

Good for notifications. App sucks beyond that. I don't like how the internal browser keeps you in the app. Also you'll be able to watch about 10-15 seconds of a video before an ad interrupts and stops playing the video. This is all after waiting watching a 20 second ad before watching any news. This app is a mess!

Lots of bugs!! It constantly stops, and every time you restart it you got to watch another commercial missing more of the news! The volume just shuts off at random!! I get more frustrated trying to watch it, I just shut it off!!

The app takes forever to load and doesn't go to the story indicated in the notification. Also, the notification needs to indicate if the story is video. The videos disturb those around me, so I prefer reading the story rather than watching it. I like KIRO News but this app sucks.

I've used this app for years with no problems, but since November 22nd, 2020, the website launches for a few seconds and then the screen turns black with only a link on top to Homestreet Bank, thus making this KIRO 7 app USELESS! Luckily, KOMO 4 and KING 5 apps continue to work fine-- sorry KIRO 7. UPDATE: After reinstalling the app 3 times and with location & notifications turned off, it appears to be working for now-- crossing my fingers.

Great love being updated about the news, no problems there at all. But this month August 2022, I received a message from my phone carrier, all of my data was taken up by this app running in the background, 28+gb used. My plan restarts every 13th of the month and it's now the 19th, (6 days) 35 gb of phone data used!!! Word of advice - Turn off your background data when downloading this app.

I cant give it a zero so it gets 1 star. 2 or more adds just to get to one video. I'll get a notification about a video saying one thing, then when I open it, i watch 2 adds just to find out its a totally different topic. Waste of time. 0 stars!

I use this mostly for traffic and weather. It is usually spot on for both. The description of where the roads are slow and the severity it's impact on driving conditions is of great help in making sure I allow enough time to get to where I am going.

I trust kiro 7 &cbs the best, the app is good & clear, my only problem is the adds, they look like news stories, hard to tell difference, & some are not good, im elderly & dont always know.. when we get into them, wish you could distinguise deferences before i open them. Thanks for the integrity..

No matter the notification settings you get to hear about every murder in the US. When you click notifications start the ad mini game. Your brought to the homepage and an ad. You then get to refind the article you wanted to read with every wrong choice bringing another ad. Worse game ever..

I can't describe my disappointment in this news app. I was looking for news, not constant advertisement. Everytime I got a notification, it never took me to the notification story, but rather to the story I already read. This app wasted my time and notification checks and gave me no better news than googling the news when I want.
