I upgraded to the paid version after being very disappointed with the free version and it's worth every penny. I'm not sure if the usability issues I identified with the free version have been resolved but the experience is good in the subscription version, and it's inexpensive. However, recently I've started seeing an issue with the highlighter - it drifts around the page randomly and often I can't move it back, which makes that feature unusable.
Great concept but a lot needs worked on. Spelling errors which cause the narrator to mispronounce stitches and ect. Can be hard to get around on the app as well. I dont see why anyone would pay for a premium version when the free version still needs a lot of work. Wish there were more patterns/items to choose from as well. Will edit my review when bugs a fixed.
There aren't many knitting apps out there I've found that include a community with forums for discussion, patterns, tutorials, etc. In that regards it's probably the best knitting app. I just wish the community was larger with more content or maybe I'm not navigating it the best in which case the navigation aspect would be it's downside. All in all though, if you knit (or crochet) you should have this app
this is honestly my favorite app ever. I do not use the free patterns but knit so much I find it hard to keep track of where I left off and where I left my pattern. this app is absolutely fantastic. well worth the small fee for premium. had a problem once (paid for wrong feature, my fault) and when I reached out to them they were so friendly and prompt. quickly refunded my purchase so I could get the right thing. if you knit fairly regularly this is the only app you need!
Overall, it is fine. Navigation when selecting a new project could be better: I was trying to select a different stitch, and had to start creating a new project multiple times. Also, in the beginner patterns section, the instructions for the scarf with squares has an error on line 121. The instructions are supposed to be different from line 120 but they are not.
Been using this app for years. I pay for the yearly subscription, it's super cheap and worth every cent. It's got everything I need without being bloated and manages to stay simple. The import pattern feature is essential and the timer is enlightening. I love that it has a little library of stitches for quick access (I always mixup M1L and M1R).
Pretty sure some of the built in patterns have errors but as a new knitter i can't figure them out, especially as there's no option to see all of the steps laid out together in a more traditional set up. Really good app though for introducing the idea of knitting whole projects in an organised way for tech savvy people, and there's lots of little tools built in which look interesting. The tutorial videos are quite poor quality, you can definitely get much better ones on YouTube.
I find the app easy to use and a convenient way to organize my patterns ( you download them straight to the app.) With a counter feature, and reference sections that are informative, and easy to navigate, it's really very handy. I do wish the yearly membership was less costly, but otherwise for a free app, I love it!
This app takes a little bit of learning and getting used to, but now it's essential to my knitting and crochet! I can upload patterns so I don't have to carry paper with me everywhere, I can keep track of my rows and time spent, and it reminds me to take pictures of my finished projects!
So far I am only rating the counter and import feature. I love having an overall counter and a repeat counter that are linked. Being able to add a comment at a particular row is also an amazing idea. Being able to import from Ravelry or .pdf is also really great - I can see the pattern and counter in the same screen. I'll be sharing this with my knitting circle. Great job! 12/2018: Suddenly adds. I'm disappointed. I'll continue to use it until they become incredibly annoying.
Very impressive. Update: Now there's an ad when I try to increment a row, it's distracting enough that I can't really use it. The link to upgrade to premium isn't working for me, and I can't figure out a workaround to get the upgrade. I took a couple of stars off.
loving the app. I'm new to knitting so the visuals are great. the directions easy to follow. just wish the ball weight/length was given at the beginning of each project. have to guess to get the correct amount of yarn.
This is the best app I've ever downloaded. Download your pattern directly to the counter, voice activated row counters, multiple counters at once, as many patterns in progress as you want, video tutorials... it's pretty much exactly what I need.
I really like this app. I recently upgraded to the paid version so I could add pictures of my completed projects. I love the feature where I can import a website or screenshot of the pattern I'm working on so it's right there with my row counter. The last update gave more features that have been helpful.
Incredibly useful app. Couldn't do without it, my go to resource to keep track of many WIP. I have the premium version so I can synchronize my progress on different devices. Great work!
Everything I've been looking for in a row counting app! The sub counters are easy to use and I love that you can import patterns from multiple sources. Thank you!
Knitting genius is is great the things I like about it is that it has the speech addition so you don't have to stop your work to press next the next thing I like is that it keeps up with your progress and the app has patterns for everyone.
Love the app. But I was under the impression it was NOT a monthly subscription but a yearly one. Or as it said at the time of purchase, a one time payment. The patterns are nice, but there is really nothing I can't get somewhere else for free.
great app! The patterns are really easy to follow and every step is laid out very clearly. The videos are really helpful too.
It's nice I've been looking for how to learn knitting online, oh this is best for beginners, keep it up
