not very reliable it's not a bad bank but when you need help or something sorted they tend to forget about you. you have to wait days or even weeks to have a reply this if you lucky enough to get a reply or really need to pursue you just went through a fraud experience and had no support whatsoever and still waiting for them to say anything to me it's nearly a week now. was going to use this bank as a main back for my wages and payments but changing my mind as I have no help sorting things out.
The Kroo app is one of the slowest and laggiest banking apps I have ever used. I have used the app on and off on 2 android devices since 2023, and despite contacting support, it has never improved. While I have found customer service to be generally good, I find Kroo's product range has remained very limited. Its most attractive single feature is the interest paid on current account balances. I have long hoped for an improved app, a wider range of features, and innovation, but am not optimistic.
Decent app but has a few glaring deficiencies. Login credentials have to use a password or biometrics, there's no option to use a numeric passcode or PIN which is much easier to enter. The payee functionality is also flawed as any references entered are not saved so it always shows as "Sent from Kroo". This makes making payments to say credit cards a pain as the reference is your 16 digit card number. All good otherwise and very slick with an easy-to-use sensible UI.
Pitifully slow compared to other banking apps. Slow to screen refresh, also populate and show screen contents. Has an intermittent habit of not loading also from startup, have to end the app and restart. Have mentioned it to support but not interested. Hasn't moved on in app development or improvements as far as this user can see. Chat function is handy and staff are helpful. Shoddy should be better for a banking app.
Great banking app and useful to get interest on a current account. Main app screen needs a rethink as log in is at bottom of screen and tricky to access, otherwise 10/10.
Absolutely terrible bank, i advise not using this company. I set up an account and the first time I used it blocked my account as soon as I put money into it, they then unblocked the account and blocked it again 1 minute later! I still can't access my money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Terrible app, slow missing basic features, even worse customer service. Placed restrictions on my account for moving money between current account and external savings accounts that was moved to pay bills. This has consequently been a massive issue in my life and has made it so I can't access my own money. To make it even worse the support have offered no information regarding this when requested.
Excellent service. Competitive rates and transactions are easy to execute.
I have no problems with my Kroo account and would easily recommend this account to everyone. It is easy to follow information on how to use it to get where you want to be for the task you are doing
Endless issues with the app! Impossible to login without uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Every single time. Face recognition and everything. Countless emails regarding this are met with 'we are investigating', only followed by emails a few days later saying 'we haven't heard from you so we're closing this ticket'! Not recommended if you need to watch your account.
Decent app, nice and smooth. Easy to set up. Good interest rate. A few things letting them down though at the moment. No option to search transactions. No option to save references for transfers. Until these basics get implemented it's hard to recommend using as a main account. Also transfers sometimes take a few hours.
Just keep scrolling past this "app"... As described by several other reviewers here, couldn't even get through the steps of opening an account - it froze on names multiple times. Got as far as trying to create a password, but it too froze several times. What does that say about a bank...hmm... If they can't even get the sign up process working, what's getting your money from them going to be like!! Wouldnt touch them with a frozen bargepole. Shame 0-star ratings aren't possible...
I joined for the interest rate, jumping from a competitor which had far better and quicker customer service. Kroo bank throws up errors now and again when trying to make payments stating "your address is different from the billing address", which is an issue I've never had with other banks. On top of this, making a large transfer takes ages to "review". I'm currently two hours into waiting for Kroo to authorise a payment I'm trying to make, and can't speed it up - This is just unacceptable.
Very lengthy account opening, 3 weeks in total. App operating slowly, but smoothly, except I cannot download my statements. Just keeps saying "something went wrong". I've logged in with different devices, but always get the same problem. This is very inconvenient as I need the statement as ID for something else.

A friend of mine recommended me to use this app and we both found it beneficial. The app offers really good interest rates, but unfortunately, it can be quite slow to load information after opening it. This can be especially frustrating when you need to transfer money quickly while on the go. However, with performance updates to make the platform faster and more stable, it has the potential to be an excellent app. It's still ranked among the top ten free personal banking apps, which is great.
The worst banking app I have used by far (I currently have 10 installed and have used at least three more). Veeeeerrrrrryyyy ssslllllooooooowwwww to do anything. Not intuitive, e.g. can't see where to find my regular payments and the bill sharing is not easy to use (well, I haven't figured it out yet) Very poor. If it weren't for a good rate of interest I wouldn't bother, and I certainly wouldn't use it as my main bank ac - far too painful!
I'd been very happy with this bank/app up until trying to send most of my balance to another account to receive better interest. The transaction has been "under review" for about 10 hours, no contact, no questions. I'm obviously not happy with this and will consider moving the rest of the balance elsewhere also. Edit: It seems the office is only open during daytime and once it reopened my money came through. If you want to transfer money do it during open office hours!
I really want to like this app but the customer support is just so awful. The waiting times are bad enough (10 days without a response from in-app support for me) but when I contacted email support to get a reply I get one instantly as apparently my chat had been "missed". If I ever had an issue with a payment or my account I can't have any faith in being able to get it fixed in a reasonable timeframe, or ever if my message gets missed, so simply can't bank here.
Payements take longer to process. The app UI is really bad. Some basic banking info aren't even there (or hard to find) such as IBAN, SWIFT ref etc..overall I think it can have potential with more work but its still not scaled enough to keep customers in. They have to really offer some incentives if they want to keep customers. Otherwise they might all leave as there are a lot of other alternatives. Im currently considering closing the account.
Not a bad bank, nice app. However, the duration for transfers in and out of this account are often much longer than other banks. I have compared with Lloyds, Starling, Chase. Every other bank processes transfers in less than a minute. Meanwhile, Kroo has taken 50 minutes, and a few weeks ago even two hours. I know there's always a disclaimer that transfers may take up to an hour or two, but the standard has been set by most banks now that domestic transfers are almost instant.
