I'd like to be able to ONLY get system alerts about low battery and other critical issues, and via TEXT. The option to choose a certain battery level to get a notification would be great as well, so it isn't just when critically low level. I don't want to know every time it is locked/unlocked. Seems like a simple function to add. Emails get buried in spam and this is a rental so lights/beeps don't do & I don't want to have to check the battery status everyday, that's what notifications are for.

The app does what it should, open, lock, set up.... However, there are a couple annoying issues with it. 1, if you lose your WiFi connection to the lock, there is no way to reconnect unless you uninstall the lock you have in the app, then you have to go though set up all over. 2, the Geofencing notification is annoying, everything I clear it, it just pops back up. I don't care that's it's on or off, there should be a way to turn off the notification.

The app struggles to connect to the lock to use for remote lock/unlock regularly, struggles to keep lock status current, notifications are either within seconds or hours, no in between. My husband is always being kicked out of the app - has his own admin account, and the activity log is stuck. Even after redownloading the app, and deleting stuff, it still won't show any activity past yesterday afternoon, this happens often. I can add or edit pins to unlock the door with no issue regularly.

Normally companies like to put their names on things. Not Kwikset. To figure out that a Kwikset Convert Smart Lock is that, you have to search for images of it online. Apparently, they lack pride in the quality of their product. As they should. (The genuises also place a set screw on the bottom, where you can't get at it easily if you have a door handle--which most doors do.)

I have given the app two stars only because it allows me to lock and unlock the doors remotely. However, contrary to claims, it is of little use regarding the providing of notifications of the locks being opened otherwise. The notifications are so delayed that it's too late to assist you with an unauthorized entry or an attempt of the same. Responses to my reviews have been meaningless and inaccurate. I don't recommend this to provide security.

I have the Halo touchscreen wifi enabled lock. It will not update to current version of firmware. The app uploads the firmware and then it errors out saying bluetooth connection error. Phone is less then 1 foot and still errors. I have two locks, both will not update. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled. I have reset locks to factory. Only thing I have not tried is slam the lock on concrete! 😉 which is about where I am at with Kwikset locks. If it can't be resolved, I'll buy other brand

Frequent WiFi/Bluetooth issues force me to factory reset the device every few months. Support wasn’t helpful and only suggested upgrading to a newer model. Unlock-by-distance barely works anymore, and the geofencing has unlocked my door when I've been home for hours and/or ASLEEP, leaving me unprotected. Overall, the product has become completely unreliable.

The lock worked great for 2 years however sometime in the spring it started losing its wifi connection. at the same time it quit connecting to the wifi it started draining the batteries every week. The only way to reconnect it to the wifi is to do a factory reset and the whole set up process again. it connects for a couple days and then disconnects for no reason. It's super annoying and frustrating after burning through about 50 batteries in 5 months it's cheaper to buy a different brand lock.

60% of the time, it works every time! I can add/update user codes for my airbnb guests once in a while like it's supposed to. Recently, the app has decided not to let me add or change my guests' access. I've tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and deleting cache and data. If you're looking for a solution for airbnb access, I'd say this is not it. Edit: I already re-paired the phone via Bluetooth. Even while connected via Bluetooth it will not let me add/change codes

So far, one star. Physical installation was simple (I've done this many times ). When following the steps to pair things go fine until the second I actually pair it successfully. Then the app tells me it's already paired and I have to delete it from my Bluetooth connections. So I do that, and then the process just repeats. So now I have a nice smart lock that can only be used like a dumb lock. Looked online for a solution- nothing. Called the support number in the book - closed. May return it.

I've had the lock for 3 years, but since a could months ago, the batteries are dying in less than a week! They used to last a few months! I use duracell and other alkaline batteries. What's going on Kwikset? This looks like poor system management and the device is pinging on the network to often. Please give the user at least the option to decline a "better connection" response if we want to save battery life. The lock used to be great, but now I'm considering replacing it if you don't fix

I've used this app for 2 years and new batteries drain from 100% to 60% in less than 2 months, and this is with manual usage. I don't use the keypad or app as I live alone and exit my condo from the rear door to the garage which does not have a smart lock. The smart lock is only used as security and remote access if needed. Also, the app does not have the ability to reconnect to a WiFi without going through the complete setup process, which is very frustrating.

It rarely works to unlock my front door when I hit unlock. I have two of these and they often are unresponsive to the app. Sometimes it won't let me add/edit users, it just fails to update. I've used the app on two different android phones and have the same results. I have also tried what Kwikset suggests to delete and reload the app which would have been super inconvenient if it had worked, which it did not.

The app works to connect to my lock over wifi, but constantly asks to re-pair on Bluetooth. The app also doesn't connect with Alexa. It says my user name doesn't exist. I logged out of the app and logged back in to double-check my credentials. I was right, it's an idiot. Kwikset needs to get it together. I like the ease of their locks to switch keys whenever I want (rental property) but this app is kind of hot garbage. It makes me rethink switching to another brand. I don't care if I pay more.

Failure msg with most actions I try to take, requiring multiple attempts to change any settings. Doesn't alert me when batteries are low, it just dies. And I won't notice for weeks or even months. And this is the worst lock I've ever had. Batteries die at 6 weeks, despite literally ONLY manually unlocking from inside, because I don't come in that door ever. I'm going to need it for emergency entry, and it's not going to work. Garbage lock, garbage customer service. Waste of money. Garbage app.

I love this front door lock. It is easy to use and looks good, too. l appreciate the ability to set individual codes. The only negative is that it eats up batteries! I finally gave up replacing batteries every month or so and have now gotten very expensive but extremely powerful rechargeable batteries, but still have to change them every two months!

Absolute garbage. There's nothing like randomly having to go through setup process with this lock every couple of months. The lock is fine as long as you don't plan on using the app. Based on the app itself, my next lock will not be a kwikset. Update 11/25/24 I have attempted to contact customer service as asked, and the automated call system hangs up automatically before I'm able to speak to someone. Good job Kwikset. I fully stand by my 1 star review.

App is not well developed... no options to control notifications, so you get 100+ bothersome notifications a day every time a door is locked/unlocked when opened/closed. The only option is to shut off all notifications using the android app on their phone, which defeats the purpose of getting low battery or security notifications that you do want. And in the case with my new Samsung S24+, turning the notifications off doesn't work...they still keep coming non-stop!

Still does not actually support full WPA2 passwords. I had another Kwikset smart deadbolt a few years back, did the same exact thing. I have two guest 2.4 networks that broadcast from the same router. Signal strength and configuration are the same, and I have a lot of devices on the network that these locks will not work with. Only difference is the password complexity. One is the full 63 characters and random, the other is a short phrase for easy sharing. Fix your app/locks.

New App has change some things that I really don't like. Primarily that I can't see my Access code list without being connected to the lock. I need to see my list!!! I don't need to edit it, just see it. Right now it's grayed out and I can't scroll down to see the whole list. Can barely see the grayed out portion. Now I have to write the codes down on a piece of paper.
