I agree with those that tried it a while ago, was happy with the results, so tried it again only to receive awful ones that look nothing like me. The first pack I don't know how many months ago was awesome. The second which cost more are terrible. It also doesn't make it clear that after you pay for the year, you still have to pay on top of that but at the discount. So even with the subscription on sale, I paid $37 for 200 more avatars that look nothing like me. Very disappointed.
I downloaded this for the avatars. (First, it takes forever.) Disappointed. I bought the $11.99 pack and the $7.99 pack and I liked about half of them. The problem is my daughter (who's biracial) wanted some so I spent $7.99 on hers and it was totally white-washed. Like bad... It made her blond with blue eyes and super thin. I'm confused, it didn't do that to me. I wouldn't leave a bad review if I had paid $5 for a subscription or something. Charge less if its not a sure thing, that's all.
App is cool. The photo editing part is very well done with tons of options and features to use and the 3 photo per day limit for free users is a good compromise. However the big pull to use this app was the magic avatars. Seeing peoples' versions pop up on social media convinced me to give it a try and when it wanted me to pay for them I didnt mind doing so. However once done I was very disappointed. I used pics of my gf and most if not all of them didnt look like her. 1 redo would've been nice.
The app description says it's a photo editing app. It prompted me to try the free 7 day trial for the professional version. I signed up. THE ONLY THING I CAN DO ON THIS APP IS THE MAGIC AI FEATURE, which has its own costs. I'm not mad paying for weird digital versions of my face, I'm mad I can't edit real pictures. Y'all need to change the description of this app, and remove the subscription option, because clearly it doesn't appy anymore.
Purchased two separate packs the 1st with 100 photos turned out well. The 2nd pack of 200 was a let down 80% of the photos either show the back of an avatars head, the face is completely covered or they look like generic black women and bare no resemblance to me at all. If you decide to spend your money, stick with the smaller less expensive pack for the best results.
It's pretty neat, but I would say that about half of the photos are messed up (eyes crossed, mis-shapen features, etc) and it takes away the "neatness" when I paid for 300 photos and almost half are unrecognizable. Therefore, I won't be buying more & will be canceling the subscription... but it was cool for what it was, I guess.
I purchased the magic avatar package for $8 and about 2/3 of the images were cool. The others? Some didn't look like me at all and some has weird attributes like a third eyebrow. However, the 1 star review comes from my attempt to purchase a 2nd package, this time the $12 one - this is when the app crashed, but not before taking my money and giving me nothing in return.
Unusable I couldn't upload the photos I wanted to with with because their photo selection screen doesn't pull up any full folder. Furthermore the UI is deceptive. If you want to use their magic avatar feature, they make you choose all your photos for upload first, then they good their hands out for the money. Not criticizing the fact that they charge, but the way they charge could be presented in an upfront manner.

Purchased Premium Membership Package, figured I was going to use this app WAY more often, and I did. Didn't like the fact that you have to continue to pay each and every time something is renderred... But also, when I actually WAS WILLING to pay, half the time the app couldn't get past the Male/Female part when figuring out what it was going to render. It's very defective and frankly I am super disappointed... It worked the first 2 or 3 times, but now, it's not even doing anything...
Seems like a cool app to edit your photos but really just grabs your money and runs. I signed up for the subscription after buying a cheap back and haven't been able to use the subscription ever since. Basically, I paid over $30 for the app to edit a handful of photos for me one time. And over half of them were deformed looking. Don't do it. Highly disappointed. I'm trying to get my money back, we'll see how that goes.
Paid for year membership, paid for "Magic Avatars" (which it did not reduce the price of) and get nothing. It just reloads the page for purchasing the avatars and then tells me it's an error I already own that item. The photo editing is terrible, so few background choices and doesn't do anything more than what snapchat filters do. I want my money back.
A scam on multiple levels. Got me to pay for a subscription, got me to spend additional money for the AI images, and cannot load due to multiple error messages. First said "service is unavailable", then "cannot upload photos", then keeps trying to get me to pay more money for AI, though I bought TWO packages... an absolute wreck of an app.
This app took my money and never generated my avatars. Real frustrating to be told that it will only take "one minute" but still have nothing generated hours later. Just stuck on "almost done" no matter what I do. I unsubscribed, restarted, uninstalled it, but still nothing. Just your average broken app that never seems to freeze or break when it takes your money. I want my money back, but I wont hold my breath.
App is buggy. Forces you to buy their programs, but then the programs do not work. I bought bother the 50 and the 100 image pack, and neither worked. It kept sending me back to the menu to purchase plans. If you're gonna make me pay for the tech, then make sure your app is working correctly. 🙃 I'll be disputing the charges, and I've already deleted the app. Don't waste your time and money.
I selected the Magic avatars option. Selected my phots and paid $8.50 my pack and still have yet to receive them. I've emailed them multiple times. They only solution they offer is to log out and back in (which I've done numerously). Now they reduced their prices for the packs but that doesn't change the fact that I've already paid twice the amount and still don't have what I paid for. I'm beyond irritated
I mean it's a cool app and the price isn't too bad. I spent $17.11 on the app and got nothing lol. After selecting all my pictures I wanted to use then selecting the package, the app then took my money and said "something went wrong". I started the refund process but having to go back and forth to have something fixed like this is so tedious. I'm thinking want just charging it back and being done with it. Hopefully you guys have it together later.
Paid for the $12 bundle of 100 photos, app displayed loading icon for a moment then asked me to pay again. It's been abkut 30 minutes and there is still no indication that I paid for anything, absolutely zero progress bar notification. It's literally acting like I haven't purchased anything at all, and when trying to go through the process again I receive an error stating that I "already own this product". I expect a refund for this purchase.
I paid for the magic avatars, which also automatically enrolls you in a "free" subscription. I forgot to cancel the subscription and was charged more money. No big deal. I figure I will use the app for the year subscription and then cancel EXCEPT the subscription does not actually buy you anything additional. I can't do anything in the app without paying even more money. Total scam.
Tried to use the Magic Icons feature and got to the payment screen, which is already ridiculous because when you start the app the first time, they make you consent to signing on for a subscription. On the payment screen, I selected the 50 pack of the 5 styles and "checked out" only to be brought back to the checkout page. When I tried to re-purchase the item, I got an error saying I already owned the item. I then tried the 100 pack only for the same to happen. Hopefully get a refund.
Over 100 distorted images, wasted money! I signed up for the trial and paid for 200 images. Most of them have wonky eyes or they are blurry. Most don't even look anything like me. It's like someone else's images. The ones that did come out great were the Egypt filter. I can't lie it was pretty cool. Yes I used good photos and high-quality images. Sadly it did not translate well. It truly is hit or miss! Good luck!
