Librera: all for book reading

so close to being at least 4 stars. somehow, there's a progres bar on the bottom that you can't see, but can swipe to the end or beginning of the book, instead of hitting one of the 3 android buttons on screen. lost my place 20+ times today alone. got it so it doesn't automatically pop up the blue menus on top and bottom of the pages but when I need them, I can't figure out how to get them back, and in doing so... lose my page. there's way too many ways to flip pages, and lose your page.

I'm very impressed with this eBook reader and would buy it if the free version or anybody online had answers about its ability to highlight. The only way to indicate where in the page you have left off, which I usually use highlighting for, is to add a bookmark on the text but it doesn't show the bookmark at that place on the page. It only shows the bookmarked text in the upper left corner of the screen. This means that finding where you left off is unnecessarily complicated.

I love this app! It enables the user to read books and papers in any format.. PDF, epub, MOBI, txt, etc and is more customizable than most. The app allows one to change a wide variety of settings, including the font, color, format and style of the file, according to personal needs and preferences. An all in one reader that replaces the need to have separate apps for each type of file.. convenient and highly useful. 😻

One of the best Reader Apps I've found that is versatile and can do more than I need. At times it can be a bit to technical with options I don't understand so I just try and keep it simple. Once I found a complimentary TTS Voice App that wasn't completely digital sounding I was good to go. Now I use it to read PDF copies of books from time to time or downloaded ebooks from a subscription service. Only reason 4 stars is because it can often be confusing and not so user friendly for simple stuff.

It's just OK. No way to edit document or file info such as title or author like other readers allow. Reading view is good and easy to work around, but I'd describe the main library interface as "nerdy", showing a lot of options and controls without a lot of effort to clean or streamline the UI. It works, it does most of what I like, and the problems aren't deal-breakers.

I've been using this app for a couple years now. Because I have such limited time and/or brain bandwidth to read, I use the TTS feature almost daily. That being said, this most recent update did some damage to my TTS accessibility. Much of what I listen to has foreign names, words, pronunciations, etcetera in them. The update wiped out every single exception I had and all of my settings. It installed on its own today and wiped out EVERYTHING besides one bookmark and one favorite. Ouch. :(

The reading settings do not work. It will only display justified text. I prefer left justify which doesn't work so I tried all others including center and none of them work. If I change from portrait to landscape it changes your place in the book, and when you go back to portrait it doesn't even put you back to where you were. Completely unusable.

It's good. But, detecting some starts and stops for sentences leaves it inconsistent and the voice is pretty robotic. My main issue is that it can't read with blank space along the center of a page which is common for textbooks in PDF form. It can't seperate the two sections and reads the different paragraphs merged as one. If this was improved, it'd be a major study tool for busy college students on the go.

App is slow to start and loading book pages sometimes lag. There is no manual or instructions on using this app anywhere and with so many settings it is hard to know what is what. The app does not open to the book you are reading or the page and the page you left off on as other ebook apps do. The app seems to also be using a lot of data - and my ebooks are all in my phone's memory so there is no need for the app to be using my data. There also seems no way to shut that off.

I absolutely love this app. Everything is customizable and doesn't charge a fee to do so like other apps. From the font, size, color, scrolling options, brightness, and so much more. It found and consolidated all of my previously downloaded books automatically and painlessly. But the best part of this app is the included widget, it turns my homescreen into an actual library, displaying each of my open books by their covers and takes me to each individual book from the home screen. Love this app

There are several readers that I like one of them is Librera, but I do have an issue with it. I like to study the bible, it just takes so long to load books. Other books not so, even The Stand as thick as it, it loads very quick., The bibles and concordances I use, well over 5 minutes to load. I use a different reader for those but i would like to just use this one.

Good app, but every time I exit the app there is a loud verbal advertisement that I can't silence. I have to quick clear gecache o my phone before I wake everybody. Other than that, it's the first app I've found that I can successfully use bookmarks that don't disappear when I close the book. Get rid of the ads at the end & I'd change it to 5 stars.

I just purchased the pro version to support the developer. It is the best reader I have found for vertical scrolling. The reader is highly configurable and you can back up your book positions. Even the free version is excellent. I have tried tons of book readers and this is the best and receives steady updates. I just wanted to show my appreciation. Thank you for the app!

Love this app. The text to speech also works fine. I can read so many formats. Best thing. I can change the font color, font size and background, that means I can read in night mode and daylight mode comfortably. It shows me the progress nicely. Auto scans for files. Occupies very less space in you phone memory. I wish the dictionary didn't open in another app, there should be like a popup with the meaning of the highlighted word in the reader itself.

you should move down the "recent" at the bottom when reading a book, it should be in line with the other buttons not taking up an entire row for just this button. otherwise the program is decent if a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it in pretty good.

This app might be illegal! 😆Exactly what I needed... Has a text reflow option for books that don't include reflow, so it will automatically convert to a reflow format that's readable--for those hard to see books. The other option is to download some software to a PC and do a manual conversion! Thanks!

Great app, maybe the best, BUT the interface is very outdated. You cannot, I repeat, you cannot even list your books in the library by "last viewed/opened/read", you either need to use a whole another tab solely for this purpose and not be able to use the favorites tab, or filter out every other book that hasn't been opened yet and make them disappear in the library tab. This is the biggest reason keeping me, and I'm sure many others from buying the paid version.

the functionality is great. most of the time, the ads are small ads at the top. And ads only appear when navigating. but there are occasionally hard to escape full screen ads which are quite irritating. for that, I drop 2 stars.

it has a lot of promising features specially page autocrop and can view half page for books scanned 2 pages in the same page. it is the closest match to ebookdroid app. but when i tried to buy a license through google, it returns error about country mismatch. i am purchasing other apps normally. by the way, i live in Egypt and my account country is set Egypt.

Instant uninstall - as a first step the app requires you to grant the app access to all of your files. That should be irrelevant - as the only files the app should be accessing are the books and other documents you want to share with the app. If your response is just going to state why the app needs access to everything don't bother.
