Life360: Live Location Sharing

So untrustworthy and inaccurate. The location can be "accurate" within a distance of about half a mile. Not helpful in many situations. That's if the app updates a person's location at all. Often, it shows my husband or one of my kids still at our home or at a place they were much earlier in the day and it stays stuck at that location for many hours. We always check for updates when it starts acting up and there aren't any. We've had to log out and back in or even uninstall the app and reinstall

For the most part, I love the app as it gives me peace of mind in knowing where my family is, especially when they are traveling. However, it's not always accurate. My family member can be in one place (verified) but the app will show otherwise (and no their phones were not left behind). There are delays (lagging) in the app, as well. I have the Gold membership, because of the added benefits due to the amount of traveling my family does. Really wish this app would improve its accuracy.

Used to be a good app. Lately, the app loses connection with locations. The screen comes up blank. I can not see the location of anyone in my circle. I have to force the app to stop and then go back into the app. It will work a few times, then stop again. Very annoying. So I was asked to contact support, I did. Their solution was basically to log out and log back in. I have to do this several times a week. What a pain. Well, now the app crashes every time it comes up. No longer works on android.

The app overall has been decent. The main problem that I have experienced over the last three weeks has been that the app says that there is no network connection for the parties in my circle. Updated, cleared cache, and uninstalled/installed app multiple times and still does it. The subscription fees are ridiculous if the doesn't work as advertised.

I originally had free, upgraded to subscription, big mistake. If possible, pay yearly, cheaper than monthly, over $40 in savings. However, this app has been terrible since November. I've done everything chat bot says to do. Everything is turned on. I have no driving reports, but I look at my husband & daughters drive and it shows all the drives. Also, my problem started when I upgraded to yearly, not monthly. Nothing works. Please fix or refund money.

This app would receive more stars if I could, to any degree, get ahold of a support agent but it doesn't work in my app at all. It crashed so I redownload it and it won't allow my to sign in (buffers for 10-20 minutes and does not show any improvement). And I can't change settings since I can't get much further than the start screen to login. Much like when it initially crashed just a loading screen and not showing anything of relevance.

Used to be a nice clean simple reliable app. Have been using it for 5 years. Helped a lot when my kids were younger making sure they were getting places safe. But the past year the app has gone way downhill. The location is no longer accurate, when I or my wife leave home every morning it does not update location until we are at work, and will just show a straight line instead of the route traveled. The live location map is now jammed with stupid widgets, blocking the map they get hit, sucks.

I like the app, but man is it infuriating to deal with the power saving pop ups. I lose my wallet and my keys near constantly, and I need to use the beeping. Every time, I have to deal with the stupid pop up going "turn off battery saver." And now with this most recent update, it is demanding I buy premium by making everything go dark besides that pop up. Turn. It. Off. I'm not gonna buy premium if I'm forced into this pop up.

Update: I am irritated that the price of the app is going up $30 when there are so many bugs in it! I love all the things this app is supposed to do and when it works properly it's amazing, but it is very often not working correctly. I pay for Gold status which is supposed to allow for arrival & departure alerts. My app will no longer allow me to set those alerts even after removing some that were previously set. There are other issues too but not enough space here to write it out.

I've been using this app for about 3 years. It's great, sometimes it lags on the location. But recently, it hasn't been notifying me whenever someone leaves/arrives @ certain "bubbles" ex home. Edit*3 years later and this app is officially lost. You have to buy a subscription in order to get accuracy on location. Not to mention, this app was sued for selling our personal info!

ok app I guess if you don't mind it being highly intrusive, battery draining, and inaccurate. constantly demanding notifications to be on, gets uppity if you turn on battery saving and worst, there's no setting to pause tracking or set a static location for a short time. Good luck surprising your significant other with lunch or something from their favorite store.

I only use this to find my own phone. But the selection I made for the double button press ("ring my phone") often deactivates itself, making it useless. I try to open the app regularly to verify that the "ring my phone" option is still selected, but I should not have to do that. This is highly annoying, and nearly defeats the purpose for which I bought it. I don't find the app particularly easy to navigate, either. Would not recommend.

Useful app. The only thing I dont like is that it dings you for hands free phone usage while driving (even though it says it doesn't). I only use maps (and dont touch it while driving) or skip a song (Bluetooth connected) from the steering wheel controls. Also they advertise their premium version a little too much for my liking. But other than that, it's a very useful app!

Half the time it can't find the location of my family. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling. We all have full cell or wifi service, so I believe it's an issue with the app. Edit to add: several months later, still the same issues. And now, it's completely inaccurate. The "home page" that shows everyone in our circle does not match the locations with the location shown when you click on each person. It also shows high rates of speed driven in areas where that wasn't even possible.

Not bad for free, but the constant push and layout is very much a nuisance. For example, you tap someone in your group to follow but you cannot watch speed because of that "protect this drive" banner that won't go away unless you $$$. Lame. Instead, find better ways of monitoring, tracking, alerting, and much more to pay. Just stop being inconvenient.

Used to be great until this latest update! IT'S AWFUL!!! Vibrates everytime you touch it, when you click on 1 person it jumps around to everyone else. Persons location stays on one place unless you click on the individual person, then you can see real time. When you try to zoom in it jumps around. The pop up about push notifications that comes up everytime is SUPER annoying. I don't need the pop up that says how long someone is at a specific place. Will be looking for alternative if not fixed.

if I don't want notifications on, that should be fine. But this app has a pop up every time I open it, telling me to turn off notifications. Then another alert about battery optimization. while I was always annoyed by this, I didn't see it as a huge problem until the other day when I had an emergency, and needed to see a location on the app...and spend an extra 90 seconds navigating unnecessary pop ups. I DONT WANT NOTIFICATIONS ON, LEAVE ME ALONE

This app is hit or miss. Love the idea and love that iPhones and Androids can use it. However in about Oct 2025 it became very delayed and now inaccurate. when someone completes a drive, it shows up about 5 minutes later. If I look at a map, it shows my family members at a location that they've been gone for for 20 minutes, but if I click on their name it will give me their correct location. There are no updates available. Too inaccurate to pay money for at this point. speed is always wrong.

Too invasive on my phone. Recently bought three different tracking devices. Upon installing the app, it keeps pushing for the $14.99 a month Gold level. The app takes over too much control of my phone, not knowing who else is going to have access to all this information. It wants me to turn off the battery saver which I do like having on so my phone doesn't drain quickly. Too many settings this app wants to control, decided to return the purchase and look for alternatives.

Works great. Most annoying app I have ever used. Every time I open it, it asks me to turn off my power saving, it opens up my power saving menu in settings, and then prompts me to turn on notifications, and then it will have a pop-up to buy something. Just to see someone's location, I have to go through like 5 steps of closing stuff out just to get there. Ask me ONE time and then don't show it again. So annoying.
