Was useful when you could highlight what you needed to highlight. Really liked being able to save and file things away. With the new liner it's all gone. The whole reason I was using liner is gone. Don't care for the new ai business. Now I have to figure out how to get my files out of this. Don't recommend this app anymore. It's not the original version.

Liner provides a good way to capture highlights as you read, but no good way to use the highlights. It should be easy to export your highlights for use with writing or a notes app. To do this in Liner, you have to hit a button over and over for every single highlight individually. It's an annoying waste of time. There’s no API or even a “download all” button. Without this, Liner is not for me.

I've given this app plenty of years and opportunity to grow and work out the kinks, but I'm done waiting. I was patient when my highlights were in the wrong places when I would go back to look over them at a later date. I was patient when my highlights wanted to move all over the page as I was highlighting. And now after the most recent update when I attempt to highlight, the highlighting button stays hidden behind the options to "cut/copy/select all". Time to move on to better things.

While I do believe the app can be improved in some ways, I do not believe it to be as complicated to use as many of the reviews state. It definitely does work, and you are able to review the list of all highlights and can easily export them as a word document which saves so much time for note taking. It would be nice if the liner tool was an add-on to Firefox or chrome browsers because who wants to use a separate browser every time just to highlight stuff? All in all it does work and save time!

This app marketed itself as a simple highlighter tool that keeps track of your highlights and works on multiple apps, and to some extent that is correct. However, upon downloading it, I realized it was more of a social media app based around highlighting. Also, I feel like the notifications are a bit intrusive. I am completely disappointed with this app.

New app version is confusing. Hitting back button always closes the app which is frustrating. They're trying to make some kind of browser and it's wayy too complicated. There's not one but three rows of menu bars in addition to whatever you're trying to read. Now there's no way to browse highlights because when you look at one highlight it resets you to the top of your highlights list, so you can't browse highlights anymore, which was the entire point of this app. I just want a highlighter app!

This used to be a highlighter app for PDF files. now, it is an attempt to steal your research for 30$+/month... (it used to be free for 2 weeks... on the latest version it's 3 days... then your work is behind a paywall.)

I spent two days working in this app on a very important research project using scientific references. After I copied the link and logged back into the app the next day, I was shocked to see that everything was gone. It only showed me the title and a black screen. Practically all my work was destroyed for absolutely no reason. Giving it even one star feels too generous. It’s a complete scam.

Had to change my review, I previously called this a "good highlighting tool with a useless social media element attached". This now almost an entirely social media / article suggestion app. They've updated the interface and I can't even see where I'm supposed to entire sites to highlight text anymore??? I don't even think you can highlight with this anymore! Can't see the option to anywhere!

The app is very full of bugs. If you try highlighting the first word in a paragraph it will go crazy and highlight the whole page. It's also way harder and more convoluted to actually open an article for highlighting. The last straw for when i finally uninstalled the app (from all devices) was when an updated forced me to follow 3 out of 8 topics and 1 random person. Would not recomend it for anyone.

Lags like hell. I've used other AIs like Chatgpt, GEMINI, Deepseek etc. Never faced lag. Even its web version is laggy.

This app is what I have been looking for a long time! I really liked it, my only criticism is that sometimes it stops syncing the text that I have highlighted, like if I refresh the website all the highlights will disappear and they won't appear on my profile either, so I have to constantly check if it's syncing or no, the rest of the app is really amazing!!! I just wish you could fix that ♡ device : android samsung

I used to love this app, it helps me to reducing so much time by tagging the important articles in the internet browser, so I didn't have to re-read the pages all over again when I needed it someday. But, after I uninstalled this app and reinstall it just now, I can't use it the way it was. I have to go to the Liner's app to find the article instead of highlighting the sentences from my internet browser directly. The product excellence is downgrading.

Honestly this app is a good one but of a truth it lags a whole lot. I also find it difficult to copy a written text that I am typing. Another issue with this app is that it doesn't display the full search on your workspace. Liner AI is superb when it comes to academic and scholarly searches but the developers need to fix the lagging issue and the inability to copy a written text or a text while typing.

The mobile version is disappointing. The desktop version is more than I ever needed. HOWEVER, the longer your prompt is on the mobile app, the longer the lags become and it gets to a point where it either crashes or just freezes. That is my main frustration with the mobile experience. Not sure why that happens but just so you know. Something needs to be fixed there.

One of the worst Apps around to waste users time. It doesn't do anything except giving you some news etc. Instead of highlightes. Don't waste your time to try this App. It will just collect some of your personal data, email address etc. for their marketing and to sell that data to others to make few cheap bucks ! I really wonder how did Google approved this junk App ! Lets report it to be removed from the App store.

I hate the new Liner, the reason I used to use this App was to highlight webpages like Wikipedia. It took me 30 minutes to try to figure out how to highlight in this updated version. I still don't know how to, so I tried to download other highlighter apps, but they just didn't have the same ease and functionality as the old Liner? Why did you remove the reason users use Liner in the first place. What's the point of all this? I even tried to find an apk of the old version online, to no avail.

It's a nice app, but it's VERY BUGGY. Dragging highlights is very erratic. I sometimes spend more time picking out the edges of a highlighted section than actually appreciating what the highlighted text means. Also, when working with pdf files, after highlighting something, the bubble won't appear the next time you want to highlight something else. You'll have to close the file to get if back. This is mildly infuriating to be honest.

I subscribed to Liner annual plan without realizing. I heard about the app, downloaded it, did the trial and deleted it. Months later, I realized I had a charge of $314.99. I immediately contacted them and let them know what had happened, and they told me they have a no-refund policy. I requested them to check my activity and they will realize I've had no usage at all other than the week I signed up. They did not do it. Now, I'm out of $315 only because I checked out Liner's features one time.
