premium is required for most basic features. service is very expensive, not a good deal at all, just a money grab. i could never justify spending that much when there are so many free resources available. beginner lessons are more like intermediate and very repetitive. Cannot change native language, it automatically defaults to system settings, and dictionary language only helps so much to change native language experience. - -

Really like it. Only issue (not even a big deal really) is that it isn't seeing all of my activity in the app as being part of a streak. If I go on and watch a video, it says I didn't "visit" that day for my streak it only seems to count reading activities. So it's a bit annoying to get "hey, we haven't seen you in 3 days" messages when I had been on everyday.

honestly when using this with Japanese I was having some mixed results in the early stages. The app gets a little confused on where words in Japanese start and stop, and a couple of other weird quirks (not really the apps fault). That and I was stuggling with progressing through the early barriers of language learning. However, after reaching a certain point my results have started to snowball making it easier to be consistent and causing my rate of improvement to increase dramatically.
