I have used this app on multiple vehicles and devices an have loved it. However after getting a new mobile device and downloading the app on it, logging in the app on the new device, the accept/decline screen does not work, click anything and the screen flashes, and returns. Can not advance past that screen. Deleted ,re installed, all the typical stuff to no avail. The device is useless without the app working. So instead of 5 stars, it gets 1 since I cannot use it now. Very disappointed.
Someone pointed out that it worked well for the free trial, but stopped working after they started paying for it. Now that its been pointed out, it has gotten worse after i paid for the subscription. It doesn't work too well, everything is grayed out, and the remote start rarely works. I have to close the app a few times or just spam the button I want used until it works and doesn't just give up after 1sec. My GPS still works for it which I guess is the most important part.
Update: after waiting 3 months for this to be fixed I installed an older version of the app and connection problems are fixed. As a software developer I don't know why would you break code that works? Original review: The newest version of this app does not connect when the app is started. I always have to go to garage and select the vehicle, then it will connect. All prior versions I did not have to do that. Been using the app for four years.
These guys were VERY responsive in their support! Even updated the app in a few days to fix a minor glitch! As for the Linkr LT App, I like it a lot! In selecting some options, be sure to "slide" up/down on a blank or dash to reveal choices (including car COLORS). I was mistakenly "pressing" on a double dash, expecting it to open the fields. Note some older cars don't have default graphics, so you're left with a pic of a "car cover". I'd love to have ability to drop in a pic of my actual car!
Had it for about 1.5 years. First year worked okay. As soon as I renew that app for another year nothing works. Anything I press it automatically turns red and says it fails. Won't connect to my car no more, won't give me the state of battery, won't give me anything. What was the point of spending an extra $200 to get the app and then pay every year on top of that to keep it active ? Extremely frustrating.
This works really well, I guess I was surprised because it's not for a high volume product. I've never had an issue starting the car and it even provides a confirmation. Two complaints: 1. To see where your car is you have to click the up arrow on the bottom and under "Auxilaries" there's a map icon that isn't colored and it's labeled. Not sure why it's buried and not labeled. 2.The door lock status doesn't update if you don't use the app. It should poll every so often for updates if possible.
To fix the GPS location going offline, I discovered you need to remote start your engine; this refreshes the telemetric module and brings your GPS location back online. It will go offline again when left to rest for a couple of hours, which may be by design to save your battery or for some other undisclosed reason; who knows? Other than this, I have been having issues where Linkr keeps having server errors, rendering the app useless until their servers come back online.
Only had it for about 2 months. Everything functions perfectly except the gps location. I'm in a area with great service. I'm looking right at my car across the street and the last location update is 3 hours ago. When I go to the gps. Its just loading. 3 hrs later still loading. Restarted my phone. Un-installed and reinstalled and still to no avail. I'm 2 months in and definitely won't renew. That's the only reason why I bought it. To track my vehicle. Waste of time and money
Update: Still garbage and still no help. Will not renew my subscription. ~ Will start my 2020 Camry but only to shut right back of in less than 10 seconds. My key fob works fine. Linkr says it's a Fortin problem and Fortin says it's a Linkr problem since it's only the Linkr gps unit or the app is the problem. Wish I would've purchased something from a different company all together. It also won't let me set the timer.
Had problems with getting PIN to work. Tried resetting with password but didn't see the keyboard. The dialog box that opens is actually a field to enter your password. Not too obvious cause the install technician didn't notice it either. Customer service for app was terrible. Glad we stumbled upon the solution. I like the app and the responsiveness. Location feedback and controls are almost instant
2 out of every 3 times we try to start our car from the app it doesn't work. The app doesn't show power connection to the vehicle. This is suppose to work from inside a building and most times doesn't work if we are looking at the car from inside the house. We are very disappointed. We chose this remote start because of this option so it doesn't meet our need like promoted.
FINALLY!!! Omega remote start module has 2 data ports (black and green) and both have to be programmed to "iData" for both of the following modules: Immobilizer bypass module and Linkr LT module My omega remote start's data ports were set to DBI and iData by default and I only got battery voltage, temperature, signal status and GPS. I used the programming table to set it right. It worked immediately. I was getting frustrated and tried everything. Fully functional now
will not connect to my vehicle sitting 30 feet away in my driveway with a solid internet connection. areas where this works is very hit or miss. status of door locks is not accurate. shows locked when they are not and vice versa. REALLY need to allow the use of multiple provider networks in order to insure connection reliability. the app is valuable, but reliability is hampered by a very limited connection protocol.
They don't update this app at all. i tried them out and alot of times you dont have signal or thier network is down very annoying. my alarm goes off no alerts to my phone even though notifications are on. you save a little over viper but not enough for all the issues. im going with viper smartstart for remote start better features and it doesn't matter the brand of alarm as long has it has the port for remote start from your phone.
Great way to start my car from anywhere with cellular service. Especially appreciated in winter months. Great product. Easy to use. Just found button at bottom leads to viewing my car exact location. Awesome.
I use the Remote Start and Remote Lock and Unlock. It works every time without issue. The GPS location view is accurate as well. The only feature I would like to be added to the app is App push notifications if the doors are left unlocked.
All it does is crash. Barely ever connects. Will turn car on then off before it is supposed to. I hope an update or something resolves it. And I wish I could use a voice command on my s22 ultra. Or maybe I haven't figured it out yet. If that could be fixed and added 5 stars
App is great but sends false alarms and phone goes off when nothing is going on with vehicle. This needs to be addressed. Also would be great for a time stamp of the event and even a zone trigger so you know why it went off.
Update: I managed to fix it myself by hard resetting. It works well now. Old review: The device does not work. I'm paying for a service that shows my vehicle like the battery is dead, which it's not. It is hard to get in touch with a customer rep. It is sad cause this service used to be good.
Slow, lagging, GPS is horrible, does not follow commands when entered, entire system does not work properly always, always issues and problems since day 1... I've had this for over an year now. Worse mistake ever going with this brand and system.
