This app isn't smooth to operate. my biggest complaint is how there is no way to correct foods that have the wrong info or add your own. many of the foods are entered in short-hand, which makes them seem like something else entirely. put the full name!! I'd also appreciate a way to manually adjust, or at least have a miscellaneous entry you can manually fill in, or take a picture of the nutrition label rather than the bar code. I also want to adjust my goals. Not everyone is the same.
The scale gives different readings in successive uses. The app transmits data and pulls power while not in use. The meal reporting function is a disorganized disaster with frequent calorie count and nutrition errors. There is no way for the user to enter calorie and nutrition data. It can only be obtained from the established list. The list desperately needs an improved search function. If this service weren't free through my insurance, I would look elsewhere for weight loss management.
I really like this app along with the devices they send you. Lately my blood pressure cuff had been having trouble sending my readings to the app. Other than that, for what it does do, it's great. My only suggestions to improve user experience would be to be able to add notes to readings such as current symptoms and the ability to add readings not taken on the livongo devices as my family all have at least one of the kinds of devices that I use.
I use the mobile app because it is convenient to use especially if you eat out at times. I sign in, get to the food log, and the screen goes black and I can't get out of it. It freezes my phone and I have to reboot. Keep getting asked what version I am using. There is only ONE version on the playstore. That is where I was instructed to get it from. I have sent in numerous claims to have it checked out to no avail. The IT department needs to have bug fixes. This was a great app. No good now.
I was really excited when I first got my devices (glucose and blood pressure monitors). However, my bp monitor suddenly starting having connectivity issues such that the app no longer received my readings. Although I still check my bp regularly, I have to record the readings in another app. And I know it's a problem with the device since the app records my glucose readings with no problem. So I think the app would be more helpful if there were a way to record readings manually.
I'm a new user. For the most part, the app seems very easy to use, but the food diary is a major struggle! I've been using the MyNetDiary app for several months in an effort to lose weight and it's been very helpful. The food logging there is very easy, can scan barcodes, and has had nearly every item I've ever looked up. Its ease of use has made it an asset at the grocery store. I desperately wish this app had the same features, or was linkable so I could continue using the easier food log.
Note, my rating is only based on weight monitoring, weight loss program, lifestyle etc. I do not use it for glucose monitoring and wasn't even aware of this feature until decided to check others ratings. Completely useless program. Their scales are exactly 2 pounds off (may be that's on purpose?) Not a big deal if you care about progress rather than absolute values. Other than weight monitoring it does not do anything. Food log is a joke, you may as well write you food diary in notepad. I was surprised to see they billed my insurance for $200, not sure if this is one time charge (scales price?) or going to be recurring. There are plenty of free apps/programs that are more convenient and useful.
Like the app. Wish you could edit the time when you log your meals. Sometimes I don't have time to log meals (at work) or have my phone on yet (at breakfast). If the time I logged a meal is different than when I ate it I can't accurately see how the meal affected my blood sugar. It would be nice if meal logs and blood sugar readings synced with Samsung Health like steps taken. Good app with lots of potential.
Just started this app 3 days ago. Not very impressed so far. I checked my BP earlier than my reminder. Still got the reminder to check it. Logging food is very cumbersome. Unless I'm missing something, I can log one food item, and I have to go back in for each additional item. Logs steps, but no other exercise?! Update 9/23/2023: still not impressed. Signed up for high blood pressure, not pre-diabetes. I now only use for weight and BP. Measurements do not consistently go to the app.
The app is fine. The program, for me, was a bait and switch. I was offered free use of Livongo by my insurance to manage my hypertension. The blood pressure monitor works great, and I'm glad I can track that. But 99% of the app is just diet culture bs that pushes the same ineffective weight loss methods (most of which are disordered eating) that make up every failed diet. I didn't ask for or want a weight loss program.
This app is at best disappointing. The worst thing is the food log. The way it makes you enter every food item by first going back thru every choice about when you ate it. So redundant and time wasting. Why can't you give my health profile a menu button somewhere? I had to open the site map to find it!!! Trying to get an appt with some councilor is a waste too. They never respond. Good luck.
I would like it if the app had a way to record what's in a meal and have a break down of carbs, sugars, fats, etc. Similar to the my fitness pal app. That would be useful so that we can better understand what causes glucose level increases throughout the day. The app is simple to use and pretty user friendly. Would be nice to also keep track of weight fluctuations.
The calorie nor nutritional information is not available. What's the point of entering the foods you eat if you can not count calories or get nutrition information. So if someone is using the app for blood pressure- wouldn't it make sense to be able to track sodium? Entering foods is annoying as well. Also, the app didn't update for three days, so I lost all that information. It wasn't stored.
I used the scale and app every day, trending my progress for weight loss and steps. Employer policy changed, and I was given no notice or ability to extract the data for my use. All app said is "oops there was an error". Very frustrating and annoying. I recommend not using it to track or trend - pull the data out and store elsewhere. If your employer plan changes, you can pay $59.99 per month to continue... I consider this to be in very poor customer service.
When I started using app I was super excited. Love that there are weekly challenges and health coaching. But the app lacks many features I like in a fitness app, like logging my food (says option coming soon) and exercise. Challenges sound great, but if you miss a day you can't say so as the only answer is "yes". That could be improved. Until then, the only benefit from the app for me is the weight tracking from scale to app.
I'm not sure how I signed up for this program (insurance?) but I love it! Livongo makes it easier to keep up with my diabetes testing. The included blood sugar monitor, weight scale and blood pressure cuff all download to the app on my phone automatically. Plus, a "coach" sometimes sends a text message checking up on me with encouragement. The three devices are easy to use, the blood sugar device tracks my supplies, reminds me and makes it easy to order new supplies when needed. I love it.!
This app doesn't allow you to delete data points. I live with four other people, two of which like to take their blood pressure with my unit. Their data points mix with mine. the graphing doesn't allow you to change anything. I want to modify, the period/dates of measurements, adding heart rate, giving trend lines. The user interface is poorly laid out and some area labels are misleading in what they can do. It will not sync with Garmin for steps.
It would be wonderful if all the food I entered previously was still there and I didn't have to re-enter it. If there was a way to enter multiple foods at one time without going back and forth on the app. Also, not everyone has or wants fit bits ect. I just do exercise without counting steps. I hope to see these changes soon. Thank you.
Food logging is not friendly, no scan capability. Scale will weigh 5 different weights in five minutes. Options for measuring food are one size fits all. If you want to weigh everything you eat, this is the app for you. If you are more concerned with options like intermittent fasting, or eating more protein, you don't have a lot of choices.
A great app for lessons provided but the down side it only tracks steps and doesn't allow for other activities like swimming etc. Plus I have an off brand fitness tracker that does not sync with this app. So unless I carry my phone with me from morning till night the steps total is off. I put in more than 150 minutes of exercise a week but no where in the app to claim those other activities. Would be great to track food in a better way.
