Accurate for loadshedding. Ads are NOISY and intrusive. When you open a tweet notification and then click back it closes the app (and plays a noisy ad) instead of showing you the loadshedding times page. Even if I paid for it, I would still want to go from a notification to the tweets to the schedule, not out of the app once I press back from the tweets. I don't buy apps where coders deliberately try to annoy me with noisy ads. Entice me don't annoy me. ***UPDATE*** The ads are silent now! 🙏🏼
Works fairly well once it's set up properly, but a recent update asked me for a rating and then kept prompting and not closing the app each time I tried to exit. The app is a bit liberal with notifications. On initial setup I keep thinking I've disabled tweet notifications, and then they're still somehow on. It would also be nice if the app supported a themed Material You icon, as supported on modern Android versions.
I first used the other, most popular app dealing with loadshedding. But somehow they gotten greedy and started pestering one with ads. So I switched over to LSN, and it's surprisingly good. Better than 'that' one now. Plus, it takes up less space on my phone's storage, and extremely light on data usage too. The push notifications from the app saved me several times from losing data on my computer. Despite Eskom jumping up and down through stages, this app makes dealing with that easy.
It helps to know when the power is going te be off. The notification part of the app just doesn't work. And when eskom announces that load shedding will begin at a certain time the app keeps saying 'no load shedding ' untill it starts. So you might not see that the power wil be out until it's off. However then you can still check whether it is in fact load shedding or not. I LIKE THIS APP.. It makes navigating this power crisis possible.
It was good in the beginning but as of last week we've been having random loadshedding occurrences and there was no warning, due to this many of my electronic devices including PCs have been damaged due to the sudden power outages. This app helps alot, but if this issue is not fixed I wouldn't recommend this app anymore due to it's faulty nature and failure to notify sudden changes in the schedule.
This is a great tool to schedure your around load shedding, but the added problem is, when you are dealing with people with other load shedding schedules. But the app also caters for these. One drawback is that the stored schedules cannot be rearranged to put them nextbto each other. Also when swiping from one area to the next, it looses sync with the other area. This would have to be fixed to work like the columns in a sprradsheet, then it even more user friendly!!
I am most grateful to the developer for providing this free ad supported app. It is great knowing what is planned in terms of loadshedding and the system seems to have very accurate information. I would give this app 5 stars if you could just stop sending so many notifications for "Not loadshedding". Once is enough when load shedding is cancelled, but not again until loadshedding is again scheduled, and especially not in the middle of the night or early hours of the morning. Please do this!

The app often does report in advance of load shedding, and as of now took over and hour to notify of the current LS already in progress. So, do not consider it help or the supplier on the ball if they are expecting a subscription payment, No! Twitter is more on the ball, and that is free. The notifications work fine, and you missed the point. This app seldom tells me that LS is back in advance. Often taking up to an hour to get back on track with the notifications. That is the problem.
It's nice app, it's accurate and it alert you about loadshedding an hour before. It doesn't have an annoying ads that hide screen. The only thing you need to look at is the repetition of notifications, especially that one of outlook and the one that shows Twitter symbol, they're annoying and made me disable all notifications from this app due to they're frequent notifications of the same thing over and over again and i don't know how to switch them off without switching off all notifications.
Not sure what we would have done without this app. Thank you for creating it! Fellow South Africans please buy at least, the version without advertising. Can you imagine the chaos without this app. As a fellow app developer I know the actual cost of development, maintenance and push fees. Advertising does not even cover a fraction of the real cost. I fear for the day, they decide it is just not worth the effort. I have absolutely no connection to the developers nor do I know them at all.
The app doesn't always make sense and the user interface isn't friendly. I would recommend a manual be added to the app detailing explanations as to what you're looking at and what certain things mean. The times regarding loadshedding wasn't always accurate, but to be fair I'll give it a 3 star rating until such time that the app improves!! 😁👍🇿🇦
I have found the app to be very accurate (once I figured out the correct location). Not sure if you have a pin drop location detector for this app but if not, it would be a plus... for example for adding my work address. Would also be great to add my route I take to work so I can plan my journey to avoid traffic jams from robots out during Loadshedding. I could then take back roads or alternative routes.
Used to be the only app I used, it was extremely effective; it was accurate without a fault; it worked sensibly and logically; it was customizable; it was nice and compact; it absolutely never let me down. But a lot has changed, that's being neglected and done half, the standards has dropped too low. I wish I could see it thrive though, but I unfortunately have to let this app go. Accuracy and predictability in its functionality, is incredibly important. With a heavy heart, I uninstalled..
The service provided by this Developer is exceptional. Towards the end of last year I was not receiving advices of loadshedding. I emailed the Developer, they investigated, identified an issue, and within 3 weeks rectified the problem. Amazingly they emailed me to advise the issue had been rectified! Exceptional service - thanks peeps!!
It was always very accurate and I could rely on it, until we hit stage six few weeks back. Now you can't even be sure like last night (5/8/2022). It showed that my area wasn't being loafshedded and then bam 20:00 the lights went out. But I do find it very appreciative that the two main areas I drive through aren't loafshedded at exactly the same time anymore. I also agree with the pin location suggestion. Would be a great help when traveling so you don't have to download each area.
Excellent app, accurate, reliable and updated frequently. Congratulations to the developers, wish you were at Eskom!! Revision of my review, sadly the app is irrelevant in 2025, not once have the scheduled shedding periods matched with the actual outages. This may not be the developers fault but it results in there being no point in having the app so will be uninstalling. This also applies to the other load shedding app so am sure it's Eskom not being transparent. Nice try though.
The previous versions never use to be accurate and I never got push notifications even though they were turned on, but after the last couple of updates it seems to work good now. Now the schedule is accurate and I get notifications and alerts in advance. Very useful for someone like me working from home on a computer using internet to prepare for power outages. Thank you!
This app would be more helpful if it could notify you a bit more than a few minutes before the power goes out. Peopel need to put stuff of to prevent damage but how is that possible if they don't always get notified early enough, and what good is a notification if the loadsheding starts earlier than scheduled
Notifications have stopped coming through automatically even though all I've checked all notification boxes. I have to open the app to refresh and only then do I find out that loadshedding is what caused the power to go off. I have no forewarning with this app. What's the point of that?!
Accurate, lets us know when exactly in the day we will be in the dark and without power.. yeeeey. Love the little pop up notifications when the power is about to cut. I extremely enjoy this app. and going through the settings adding and deleting areas is the best yet I must say. I absolutely love this app and it is the ultimate fave of all I have on my phone... 🥰🥰🥰 I have never been this happy and excited about an app. before.
