Although the app is a convenient way to place online orders, the loyalty program often does not give you the correct points. On many occasions, if I have more than one item in an order, I'm only given credit for points on the cheapest item in the order and not on the total order. I'd hate to have to order each item in separate transactions to ensure I'm being credited with the correct number of award points, and I'm sure the restaurants wouldn't appreciate it either.
It's easy enough to order through Toast. But if you need to edit or cancel a pre-order, good luck. I was told by the restaurant that they have no ability to change orders made through Toast. I try to contact Toast and every option I choose refers me back to the restaurant. I finally found a way to open a ticket but still haven't heard back a day later. All I needed was to change the pickup time on an order, but apparently there's no way to do this even when requesting it 24 hours in advance.
The restaurant selection is great. The app gets worse with every update. Currently: 1. I can't add anything to my cart because I haven't selected required options... even on items where I've selected everything, nothing is required, or there are no options at all. 2. Pickup-only restaurants will show up in the delivery queue. 3. Delivery-enabled restaurants selected from the delivery queue will start set to pickup. 4. Sometimes the delivery queue just won't populate at all.
The filters for cuisine & order type don't work. For example, filtering for Chinese food gave me about 10 restaurants of different Asian cuisines & a Mexican place before I saw any Chinese food. Also, it once it placed a pickup order when I chose delivery. The AI customer service bot leaves a LOT to be desired. Most recently, I reached out because the driver marked my order as delivered and was unreachable (contact number didn't work). The last ticket I opened wasn't addressed for 3 days.
Good but buggy! The restaurant selection and ordering process are smooth and excellent. And no hidden fees! However, the app has significant technical issues. My location tracking frequently fails, showing irrelevant restaurants. More critically, the in-app loyalty program redemption is broken for some restaurants where the terms are misrepresented, and I must visit the physical store to use my points. Please fix the bugs!
The app randomly checks you out when you're not ready to check out while in the middle of placing an order, without me trying to check out. AND When trying to place a second order after calling the restaurant to ask them if I could combine orders if I finished my order by placing a 2nd order. They were willing but the Toast app randomly switched from delivery to Pick Up, and that has randomly happened to me a few times on this app. The driver was only willing to bring the 1st part order.
I like the fact that restaurants have the possibility to use a consolidated app/system for pick up/delivery/payments etc that helps keeping track of loyal customers and rewarding them. Rewards actually work well and I think they are what makes this different from other restaurant apps. Definitely needs some work in terms of UX. Cannot search for items within the same menu and sometimes browsing in general can be cumbersome based on how things are classified.
I've deleted & reinstalled the app multiple times now. It won't give me options on items to order, preventing me from choosing those items from my local coffee shop. For example, when I try to order an Americano from the coffee shop, it won't give me any options for flavoring or milk, only a quantity option. But if I attempt to add it to my order with out those options, it says "cannot add item. please make sure you've selected all required modifiers." How can I select them if they're not there?
HORRIBLE. Don't even bother with this app. It worked fine for about a weeks then nothing but problems. They tell you to do same 4 fixes every time. Close app, if that doesn't work reboot phone, if doesn't work, uninstall/reinstall app, if doesn't work make sure phone up to date. If that doesn't work, delete app. update phone, reboot phone, uninstall/reinstall app, if that doesn't work do it again and again. Waited twice over 20 minutes for Human Agent..then they shutdown if you can't...
Loyalty Details Won't Show. Main page shows Rewards amount. Click to learn more and get blank screen. Used to work. Now, I keep having others use my points and get alerts when others buy at restaurants I've never eaten at. I cant check credit cards to remove because Loyalty Details screen is blank. Already reinstalled app, cleared cache, and storage. Junk!
I try to make an order through a mobile browser but none of the buttons are working. I cant make selections or edits, it just flashes and stays the same. furthermore, the sizing and formatting is not optimized for mobile screens, and overflows beyond the borders of the window. I dont like using so many apps and would prefer to continue using a website. I cant find any way of sending this feedback.
Worst and very dangerous system! I used the system and received and email the next day to sign up, but wrong credit card account. I have no idea who was sent my information. I loaded the app to contact Local by Toast, the Contact Us screen was blank. There does not seem to be any accountability with the App provider. I had to go back to Google Play to find a phone number for the app provider. They are NOT being cautious with our credit card #s.
Terrible horrible awful app formatting/design- trying to go 'back' on my phone placed an order I wasn't ready to place. Ability to contact them about that order was limited to chat, and the "send" button on the chat is hidden under the android control bar and impossible to use. Apparently just as bad for restaurants - they claimed not to be able to cancel it for me, and I can't figure out how to get my money back. I won't be using this app ever again.
This app is a fantastic resource to support your local businesses! There is an unfortunate glitch that I keep experiencing though. I'll find a restaurant under the "delivery" tab, and when I clock the restaurant, it automatically switches to "pick up" and I sometimes don't notice before placing an order which causes some complications. I wish if you were already on the "delivery" tab, when you selected the restaurant, it'd be set for delivery, not pick up.
This is my favorite restaurant ordering app for pickup. It's so easy and quick to select and place an order. The best part is I can quickly reorder favorites with just two taps, seriously! It provides the estimated time for the order to be ready, and notifies you when it's done. So easy, so smooth. I just wish more of my favorite restaurants were using it, because everything else seems clunky.
It's a good app but it doesn't know when businesses are out of business. Ordered some food just to find out they were closed. This app sucks. Credit card isn't recognized across the board. Seems like you have to link your credit card at each individual restaurant. Can't even store a credit card on the app. Every single app out there lets you do that. Have lost so many points and rewards because of this. Couldn't redeem rewards today. No points earned on my check either.
Underdeveloped. There's no reason that using Toasttab in a browser should be a better experience than the app. At one restaurant, the option to make a sandwich a combo is just missing on the app, but it's there on the website. Plus there's no way to remove stuff from my cart, but once again, no problem on the site. I like Toast as a platform for ordering food but the app serves zero purpose, just use the website.
Everybody and their mother wants to get into the food delivery business, they just can't do it as well as the other apps. The app defaults to pickup without any sort of confirmation. It's nice that they have the "reorder" function, but if O got delivery last time it should default to pickup. It's also difficult to tell once the order has been placed whether or not the order is delivery or pickup. Irritating having to drive to restaurant when I was planning on staying in.
When attempting to place my first order, I got an error about "Missing Customer Information". Lack of mitigation instructions aside, I eventually figured out that my name and phone number had not been retrieved properly when I signed into the app (I have an account that I have successfully used in the browser interface before). However, attempting to input that information resulted in the error: "We were unable to access your profile right now". Eventually, I gave up. Seems like a major bug.
Not Functional. You must register to use the app. You enter your phone number, it texts you a four digit code. From there you get to the sign up page where you enter name, email, etc., but when you're done entering, there is no button to advance. I've tried multiple times downloading a fresh app each time. My conclusion is it's either bad design or the developers did not want Android users as customers.
