Pretty great, helps me scan cards to build up my collection. One frustration is the inability to browse for cards and their value - you first have to scan a card, then you have to "edit" the results to override with a search. As far as I have found, you can't search for cards to create a wish list. This means there are also no features to help you track prices for cards you're looking to buy. Adding these capabilities would bring this rating to five stars for me.
it's ok. the edit option sucks. and while I don't expect them to have every card when it's not even close (year, player, brand) its not great. plus, it doesn't have all parallels to choose from. editing this dropped it to 1 star. the scanning sucks you might get the correct card. You might get the totally wrong sport. you go to edit it, and it will recognize it maybe 50% of the time. right now, if I were you, I'd find a different app to try.
The idea behind it is great however the database is pretty terrible so far. It doesn't recognize a lot of signature cards and if it does recognize it, it has wrong information wrong parallels with wrong numbers. I understand the app is just getting going the database needs to be updated quite a bit. When it gives you the option to search for the card that it doesn't register it still doesn't register it when you type it in. there should be an option to edit card details.
glad they offer 7 day free trial cause so far this app is complete garbage. wanted this solely to scan in my collection so I have it organized digitally and have tried scanning two different Topps brand baseball card sets and the system has not successfully identified a single card yet. I went ahead and manually entered 80 cards from stadium club thinking it's a lesser known set but it doesn't even identify Allen and Ginter Cards. The system is clearly made for identifying cards that have sold.
App is absolute garbage. It doesn't recognize anything other than base cards and even then, it has trouble. Then if you manually search for the card. You may or may not find it. The ebay listing assist is a joke. It takes an off center cropped picture of the front of your card and doesn't even offer a reverse for the back. App seems like an info grab scam, more than anything. Don't waste your time or money. If zero stars was an option this would get it.
The scanner is decent. Not the best but not the worst either. My main issue is that it's the only way to add to your collection. Would be nice if I could go into a set and just check off the cards I have manually instead of having to scan and approve each and every one. Also it only pulls prices from ebay which is not accurate at all. I'll keep using it for now but I won't be subscribing after the free trial ends.
I got this app to scan my cards. It only gets prices from eBay and the most recent one at that. I have a 100 dollar card that they say is 5 dollars because it sold on eBay in terrible condition. Very inaccurate scanner and won't tell you the actual price. Does not recognize fakes and you have to pay to get some good features, but there is very good customer service.. Then you have to delete them to add them. I would love for this to become more than just an eBay card scan.
After scanning about 2000 baseball cards, only 1 was not in the database. The app scans most cards quickly and accurately with maybe 5% giving the wrong information. The reason for only 4 stars, and the reason I'm no longer going to use the app, is because it occasionally doesn't add cards to my collection after saying that it was added. Guess I will try again in a few years to catalog my collection, hopefully when these apps have less errors.
Out of 13 cards, it got one kinda right. The parallel choice was missing. How can it get a value with no accurate serial. None of the cards found a value. I easily found a value (130point). Jeanty Crunch Time. Should have been easy. The card numbers were wrong. After a manual search, it would tell me a card was 5, when it was all letters. The few scanner returns showed wrong players. Jeanty and will Howard look alike? Won't let you add any card numbers. Couldn't fix any of the wrong info.
You can look and see that I never leave reviews, but I love this app. Best app to keep track of your cards digitally whenever needed. Also gives you an estimation of what your cards are worth. Most are spot on, some here and there may be a little over or undervalued, but overall this is truly the best one to use. Also let's you make unlimited custom folders. Worth the $10 a month if you're a big collector, plus automatically will publish eBay listings of cards you want to sell. 5⭐
Ran into trouble with my subscription payment not processing on their app and contacted customer service to try and get it resolved. This issue persisted for over 4 months and they still weren't able to resolve the issue. I decided to switch to a competitors app since their customer support is absolutely atrocious. don't pay for this app. They don't not care about their customers enough to actually resolve the issue. Even when you're trying to pay them for their services.
Scanned a ton then they dissappeared on me. This review is for dev purposes. Not sure what happened, downloaded the app scanned a few cards without signing up for free trial. Realized there was a cap on the "concept" demo. Committed to the lite version for the 1week free trial, the app did good in retaining my initial 60 card scan. Spent 2hrs scanning a bunch of cards. Woke up the next day to continue and all scans were gone like I have never scanned before. Even logged out. then back in, nadda.
I really really wanted to like this app as eBay integration is a rare feature, and the app itself seems quite slick. Unfortunately I am a Pokemon collector and it's really common for there to be 3 different (Holofoil, reverse Holofoil, non Holofoil) versions of the same card. I was unable to find any way to easily switch an incorrectly scanned card to the right version as sometimes it's not possible for any app to always detect between these multiple versions 100% of the time.
New collector, I have scanned in about 500 cards so far and have another 1500 to do. Scans work most of the time, there have been a few it didn't recognize. Would love to see a way to put a cost on the card without taking away current pricing. Currently there is no way of doing that. Also seeing prices inflated from high priced cards being sold. I like being able to put the cards in folders, makes seeing total cards for each brand or group quick.
Ludex has come a long way since I first joined them. The app is very simple and easy to navigate through. Able to withstand several portfolios, if needed or wanted. Clear and visible scans. It could use more cards in the database,or system so to speak. But as far as I understand, with every card scanned, Ludex is definitely finding ways to feature that card upon being scanned, if not you can enter it manually, and try that. Definitely recommend. Highly preferred.
there is some really good potential here. I've tried a lot of these apps and they barely scan in correctly but here it's almost every time! 2 major gripes though. the over-cropping/lack of photo editing and the lack of editing any info on the card period besides price. they offer a free 7 day trial...if you've been looking for a good collection app this one has the potential to be it if they listen and fix some minor issues. Great work!
I'll start with the positives. The pricing is pretty accurate. I love how it separates each category. If it wasn't for these 2 positive I'd have given this a single star. Now the negatives. The scanner works maybe half the time. I have 100,000 plus cards for each category but they only allow 60 to be saved before your required to pay. Then, the costs are so ridiculous. I suggest you don't waste your time with this app.
The app itself is easy to use and I didn't have to much trouble scanning my mtg cards, even in binder sleeves. The rating is brought done by the fact that, with this being a subscription service, you would think they would be more up to date. Warhammer set doesn't have values yet and the lotr set doesn't even scan. Also took to long for response on the issue. Expect better from a paid subscription. There are cheaper and better options.
It's a great app. I enjoy it very much however, they give you 200 free scans on cards then only allow you to put 60 of those into your portfolio. The only way to increase this is to pay monthly or yearly. If there were any option for me to simply upgrade the portfolio or scans with a one time payment then I'd probably do it, but there isn't and I'm not going to make a payment every month or year for something I could just keep track of myself.
Amazing app for scanning old cards of various varieties. While most cards aren't worth much, this app is still fun to use. The only things holding back are: takes a little while to recognize a card, and sometimes it takes multiple attempts for it to recognize it. Another thing is that you can only save 60 cards to your collection, which means you have to rescan multiple cards to add them back to your collection after they have been sold. The last one is that a few cards have not been identified
