I agree with everyone else The pay option is too easily activated and no matter what the developer says about not tracking my tracking app showed 31 different track attempts including GPS coordinates, local IP address, postal code, email address, first name, last name, gender and that's only 7 of the 31 attempts my tracker blocked. There are better options that don't track you. Don't bother replying I wouldn't believe anything you say.

The free version is unbelievable in what all and how accurate it seems. Now everywhere I go I have a light meter. I work as a traveling inspector, and the number of tools I sometimes need is an unbelievable number of different tools to have on me. Proper lighting is the most important thing to get right in my field. Now,I always have one handy at the ready.

Opens right to the tool without a ton of ads in the way to waste time when you really need it! Just a simple "but me a coffee" button at the bottom, and I certainly will! (Full disclosure: I didn't need it at the time of install, so I opened the app and pressed all of the buttons before reporting no ads. Time will tell if this is standard)

This app seems to work great, very simple intuitive interface. I say "seems" because it's very responsive to small changes in light level and the numbers seem reasonable. I can't be sure the numbers are perfectly accurate because I don't have a proper calibrated light meter to compare it to. But for tasks like figuring out houseplant locations, measuring lighting levels for interior design, etc, it works great.

Very easy to use, and fun to walk around with. The differences in light are often surprising. This tool has been quite illuminating (pun intended). I use it for determining where to place plants and getting enough morning light for circadian rhythm health. Also to see where light is best in different indoor locations . It's amazing how much light is lost through glass. Ads are unobtrusively placed.

Works great, my only change would be to mention clearly on app start that it doesn't use phone cameras, and that it uses the phone's hardware light sensor. That's I'm the readme, which is easily accessible, but there's no prompt to read it :) I used this to get an average of the brightness in my home office. This let me set the screen brightness to match, which is helping me reduce eye strain.

The developers are lying about what data collect from you. In the 10 minutes that I have had this installed, there were 171 tracking attempts! They say that they only track your location, but this is not true at all. 71 tracking items, not just location. They are selling your info to google, facebook and others. They get a hard pass from me this app. There is absolutely no reason to "aggregate stastics," as the company attempt to deflect. Collecting your info does nothing to improve this app.

Does what is supposed to do in the measurement of light intensity, got another meter, both are very similar in measurement! Reason for 4 stars, might be doing something wrong, but under light source, numbers in constant flux, in other words constantly show too many and very fast light variables , so can be confusing in any particular amounts. If you want a generalization it a great app!!

If not accurate at least consistent. I don't have a lux gauge obviously. However, the results are consistent enough that I feel it could be accurate or at least good enough to compare to itself as a measurement tool. It would also depend on your phone and it's sensor. The app hasnt glitched out or crashed so 5 stars does what it says on the tin.

Idk how accurate it is but it seems like it tracks light appropriately and consistently. If it is correct, then this app confirms my suspicion that the overhead light in my living room is too bright lol. I should get a tall decorative houseplant or small tree and just put it on my table. Hahaha. Good for comparing light levels at least. I'll check it against the sun tomorrow. If my outdoor readings track I'll change my rating to a 5. Update It is higher by the window in daylight. It works.

Very simple app and that's a good thing. I have a light meter gadget and this app was within 5% of that, which is really good for something that should be used as a rudimentary tool to give you a general idea of the lighting intensity of a particular space/light source. The only improvement I would suggest is to make it clear that it isn't using the phone's camera and to try to move the phone around for to determine where your light sensor is.

And that is the another reason I will always prefer Android over iPhone. I couldn't find a decent free app which I continued keep using after a week on my iPhone. Most of the simple stuff is either not available or behind the paywall at Apple store. Definitely worth recommending, no ads, no extra stuff just to the point and useful.

Does exactly what it says. Could be nicer with a graph that let you know moving averages & max/min values over selected ranges within the graph, and maybe even a temperature graph overlay to make it easy to troubleshoot growing conditions for sensitive plants like orchids. However as a basic tool, this app is very straightforward & useful. Thanks for writing it!

Cool app, but I expected around $3.49 one-time when I tapped on Remove Ads. Even with frequent use & ability to measure lumens & color temperature, I'd consider paying a little more. I don't like Subscription based apps and $19 a year was shocking. Though I appreciate all app features available for "free", I usually pay to remove ads & support development or move on. Unfortunately, this falls out of my price range.

I found it useful, but as it uses the phone light sensor, which is somewhat directional, the will reading will change significantly with even small movements of the phone. Good light meters usually have a multi-directional diffuser that helps get more accurate reading. Nevertheless, if you keep it in mind, it is very useful for example to compare lighting with two different light bulbs in the same fixture. Just don't move the sensor (phone).

Simple to use and does exactly what it says. Doesn't use the camera but the light sensor on the front. Shocking to see how little light comes in through the windows and to my desk; I'm basically sitting in a cave all day, which could explain my circadian rhythm :) If you wanna measure the light coming from your monitor you can use the reset button before you point the phone towards the monitor, the value will be stored as the max value (works best in dim locations).

As other users have cautioned, the "buy me a coffee" button is way too close to the other functions to not accidentally activate. Very sneaky. It is the full length of the other buttons combined, as if the developer intended to make sure you hit it. Uninstalled immediately. Move the button and I would have given it a far better review. Edit: see developers' arrogant response. That's how you win over and deal with customers!

This app improved my life immediately. I’ve used seasonal depression lights for years, but after switching to night shifts, I wasn't feeling the benefits. I assumed my lamp was 10k lux, but this app showed it was only 5k from where I sat. As I moved closer, I watched the lux rise. I was stunned to realize that being just inches too far away cut the benefit in half! Now I know exactly where to sit to get the full 10k. A total game-changer for light therapy accuracy.

I'm sure the paid version actually works but.....the free version does not. I put it in the area I was testing. Took a reading. Took the meter out. Put it back in (yes the exact same spot) and got a completely different reading. Three times three different readings. I wasn't expecting much from a free app but if you want me to buy the full version at least make it function

Accurate and flexible. Great for setting solar panels. Note that mobile light sensor measures direct incident light, whereas panels are not directional. Tested with a candle at 1 m. Exactly 1 lux power. LED tube at 1 m measured at 300 lux. Nice to be able to save measurements and have additional functions. Large display easier to read outdoors. This is the best light meter app i have found.
