Enjoying this more than expected! Jumping back into French yrs of barely speaking any after French immersion @ school. Expected it'd be boring at first but that wasn't at all my experience & yet it wasn't too hard either! Starting with a short clip is engaging, the Q&A both being in French & the very short lesson length make this a surprisingly fun way to refresh & improve my skills! Protip: read all the Q&A aloud to hone pronunciation 🤓

Cool in theory but for some reason the app has all of the beginner French lessons listed as "completed" right after I have freshly downloaded it. As such, I am forced to manually navigate the earlier lessons with no way to actually track my progress. There appears to be no way to reset my progress so I am stuck. This combined with the little vibration which plays every time I tap my screen has created a very unintuitive experience when navigating the app. Unless this is fixed I cannot continue

It's great. I'm trying to improve my French and it offers good little lessons, lots of media to connect to, and when there was a bug that i reported they fixed it right away. And it's free. Thumbs up.

Awesome app with so much potential. It would be great to have a "teacher feature", so lessons and activities could be assigned to students and progress tracked by the teacher. This way your app could be used in Canadian classrooms to promote authentic French learning.

I love the idea behind the app, and would love to use it more, but every single time I open the app, complete a lesson, and sometimes randomly it takes me to the "lost your way?" page. it also sometimes just crashes after a lesson or while selecting an option.

The content and functionality of the app is fantastic, when it is responsive. Unfortunately the latest update I received has made it very buggy and it now hangs on me regularly, causing me to quit and reopen the application.

Thank you CBC! I tried Duolingo, but was always unsure how the pronunciation and language was different than Canadian French. I just started, but am very excited to learn CANADIAN French. Merci!

I love this app but it crashes too often. Please, fix it. Thank you for making an accessible French course.

I really like it, thanks for making this app to help me learn some French. It reminds me of Rosetta Stone language learning a bit, which is a paid service but this is free. I find this is entertaining and not boring. I learned French from core French classes JK to Gr 12 but still struggle with the language. I feel like this app is helping me overcome my fear of French 🙂

Great app, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE introduce a black mode. This murky gray "dark mode" is hard to see :(

app crashes consistently after the final matching pairs question in activities. sometimes progress is retained and you can progress to the next activity. sometimes it isn't and you have to just redo the activity (with it crashing every time) until it unlocks the next one. // super useful app otherwise. I'm gonna keep using it. I appreciate it as a resource but this crash is really frustrating. // encountered at: -Beginner 1, Episode 1, Activity 21 -Beginner 1, Episode 2, Activity 12

Thank you for providing the first couple of episodes of Les Bogues de la vie for watching and understanding. I want to see the whole series thanks to this app. Good showcase for good french shows.

This seems like a cool idea, but it's such a learning curve. Despite choosing my level as "beginner", it immediately put me into fast-spoken French. And there's no "I don't know" answer on the test, so you can get false positives. You should make the subtitles easier to find. I also said that my preferred language for navigating the app is English, but all of the questions were in French with no translations. I made it all the way to unit 5 of 10 in French Duolingo, and I found this hard.

It requires some knowledge of French even at the beginner level, so it's good for people like me who aren't looking for a crash course again on basic words. I also feel like this would make a great companion app if you're taking other French courses. I like their use of video clips the most though. I think they help train your ears and you can also observe manners of speech and social cues which you don't normally get with other language training apps and courses.

Has potential but you need to be quiet competent in French to even be a beginner, likely already having intermediate French. I've been studying for a year and a half but they talk so fast in the videos I just can't follow along almost at all. I've been able to speak slowly with people in real life but this is crazy. May come back in a year or so but slower content would help us ease into it.

This app is not for beginners. It's just not. At best, it's for people who have taken english or french in school and want to become significantly more fluent. There are no baby steps, and no obvious instructions to slow down the video clips. I took french to grade 12 a couple decades ago, and am honestly struggling to understand the voices and speed in beginner level 1. Again, this app is for people who already have some fluency, but want to become better at canadian english or french.
