The map is incorrect for a boat launch which I use all the time. It shows a launch that closed last year and not the one that has been open for over 20 years. What good is an app that has a map but the map is wrong? Even if it is just one thing, how do you trust the rest of the map? There is no way in the app to provide feedback on the incorrect map. I was also expecting to see hunting/fishing reports in the app. No such luck. The DNR is missing a huge opportunity to crowdsource harvest info.
Since the update it takes forever to load. Just spins around and around for almost 5 minutes before it will load. when it finally does it will lag on other pages. Please fix what I.T. has messed up. Also e harvest tags suck.
since this new update it will not load or let me log in the screen just keeps loading. please fix soon. and yes I have double checked and triple checked to make sure I have the latest version downloaded.
Update: I emailed the contact requested with problem details. As of 8/28/22, no reply and still not fixed. Original: Right off the bat I sign in and it asks me to confirm the personal data they show...BUT, there is no button to confirm and it doesnt scroll down or up or anything. Tried different internet browser, still same thing. And Im on a newer android phone. So.... hopefully this can be resolved as Im not sure logging in on laptop will have any impact resolving confirmation issue in app.
App has good options and features but it is always running in the background. There is no log out option, restart the phone and you are still logged in, go into settings and force stop and you are still logged in. Play store doesn't offer an uninstall like any other app, had to actually go into settings to uninstall. All sounds a little fishy to me.
Useful, but clunky. Guides as downloaded .pdf (not really incorporated in app) are barely easier than downloading from web site and searching a 79+ .pdf (Hunting Guide) on a cell phone is cumbersome. Quick links to hunting hours & deer harvest reporting would be helpful. (Probably other interestes need quick links too.)
Found a license, Spring Turkey, didn't show in availabe until searched. Clicked to add to cart and there is literally no cart button anywhere. I clicked into my account, back to licenses, looked everywhere in the app but have no way to check out. Terrible experience.
It is not ,really, anything new. The app has a lot of potential but until they make the reporting a harvested deer easier to find and smoother to pin point and open map. Well you are going to have problems. I'd make sure you have a good wifi network before reporting and/or cell signal first before using the map option.
The Michigan DNR Hunting app was easy to use. I appreciated not having to drive anywhere to report my successful hunt. It was a little awkward to set up additional users. It would be better if there were quick access buttons instead of having to search each time for something I only need to use a few times a year.
The DNR has made knowing what is legal to fish for a guess and an easy ticket payday for a DNR "officer". You have to find and read multiple PDFs comparing them all to see what makes more sense for where you are, what day it is, what you wanna fish for, what kind of lure/bait you wanna use, and how old you are. Good luck. and the app sucks, it's just links to the website. Add a filter to the map that tells you what fish are able to be harvested in a selected area.
I log in and it takes me to a conformation screen that seems frozen... no button to confirm, screen won't scroll... nothing... really need this fixed bought my fishing license online and need this to show it when needed...I scrolled and found I needed to drop my font size and was able to confirm. all good here.
experience is very poor I wanted this app for the convenience of being able to purchase a license it worked once to purchase my all species fishing license but now that I want to hunt they told me I'm at my limit for the year...i haven't bought a hunting license this year how can I be at my limit?.....looks like I'm going back to doing it in person
Michigan DNR, I have been hunting in Michigan for over 10 years and I like the MI DNR app for buying licenses but I wish MI would have digital tags in the app. I'm from Wisconsin and on the WI DNR app, hunters can get our tags digitally and register deer digitally, it's easy and convenient. No wait time no mail. I was able to tag and register my deer at the same time via the WI app. Took 30 seconds and I didn't need to worry about a physical tag. Would love this feature for Michigan.
Great to have a digital pic with you phone is usually handy over wallet. But if you want to find hunting or fishing places there is a lot lacking maps. Needs to integrate hap lands with logging ECT open to hunting and local lakes and parks for boat ramps and fishing

Rusted TinMan (Mike Hedgecock)
Difficult to use. Forces multiple downloads without confirmation that I need the documents downloaded. Map feature could work better if it was not constantly trying to find my location. (On/Off)
I definitely would recommend this application to anyone who hunts, fishes. It is extremely easy to pull up licenses & information when necessary. Living in Pure Michigan, it's a must-have for me. It's super easy for tagging kills.
Up untill last month, the app worked great. Now when I try to update the tallies for a certain season in the deer harvest part. I get an error message and it doesnt update.
bought license online, never received. told that sense its been 30 days cant get a refund. Just go to store dont bother with app. waste of time and money.
Signed in through the web site but can't sign in through the app. It keeps saying user name/password is incorrect. Very aggravating. Had to miss out on this opening morning hunt to figure out how to sign in😤
I down loaded the app on my phone, when I go to sign up. I to the place to put my state in and it won't let put in, there is words covering it up. some one needs to fix it, i'll come back to check on if you fix it.
