Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets

App has lots of bugs. Data randomly disappears, & I cant find a reason behind it. at least once a month, the app says I don't have permission to make edits. The only fix is to uninstall & reinstall the app, which is not efficient. Every few days, all of my spreadsheets are locked out on my phone, & I have to log in again, although it shows I am logged in. Everything else Office365 and One drive still work, but excel locks up. This happens also happens when its in use. File just vanishes.

Pros: no ads, it syncs with my spreadsheets on my computer, and it's fairly intuitive if you know how to use Excel desktop. Cons: it is SO SLOW! Plus, there's a glitch on one particular spreadsheet where every time I try to switch between sheets, it crashes the app. I just created that spreadsheet this morning and it worked just fine, but now it's got this bug. Please fix!

i have been using MS for a long time and paid for premium, and one day suddenly they cancelled my premium because of some payment problem, i tried making payments for many times and for some reason the payment cannot go through, funny thing is i could make payment for other apps. So now all most of my excel files are gone, and i have no idea how to retrieve them. it's so frustrating!

This app always logs me out, even while I'm still logged into other MS apps, and I can't edit anything. The error says "There's a problem with your account or device. Let's fix it." The continue button does not work for me. I am logged into three accounts; they all do this. I have to clear app data to fix. When everything works, it will only show me one sheet, even if I opened in on my PC minutes before. The app works great other than this, when I can actually open and edit my spreadsheets.

Useless unless you uninstall and reinstall it for each file. It spins endlessly saying, "configuring files", and never actually opens the files. The only way to be able to open files for me is to delete the app and reinstall it. Even then, it only works to open 1 file and the next time you try to open a file, it goes back into the endless, hopeless loop.

PROS: There are NO ADS! It does everything a spreadsheet is supposed to do. There is a little learning curve, but it is easy to learn. The spreadsheet that I work on often can be pinned, added to the home screen, and it will automatically open and then just exit, and it will save automatically. CON: Poor color selection for fonts/highlights. They are different from the standard like blue looks like sky blue. I have to copy and paste the right color from another app to get it right. RECOMMENDED

It does a good job as a mini excel, but somehow the developers decided to make it incredibly difficult to access files on an external sd card. You can't edit any file on an sd card. Internal storage is limited so external should be accessible. To make matters worse, now I'm constantly being signed out and I have to sign in every couple of days. To the developers: your logic is backward. Cell phones are personal, quit signing users out.

Crashes a lot. Before the crashes, it was a good app, integrating well with Dropbox, but then it started crashing for no reason. Another "great" app from microSOFT. And where did conditional formatting go? I tried to do a "smart lookup" on it to get some "help" but it does absolutely nothing and returns me to my sheet. I guess I found a hole... Overall, missing a few great features from the desktop app, slow, buggy, and not at all efficient. The only thing it does well is reminding me of the real deal on a computer, and then I shudder at that.

Excel for Android has come a long way since it's inception. I've always used it on Windows as Mac, but the app on my phone has always been missing something to make it a keeper for daily use. The current version of Excel is very easy to use and has several features that make the creation of spreadsheets on my Samsung S9+ easy. I believe a bit more thought should be given to formatting cells and so forth, since this is still a bit counterintuitive, but it is possible with a bit of practice.

I have had no issues with this app after many years of using it until the most recent update. My files keep going into a state that they cannot be opened and I have to open it on my computer and restore it(which does not remove my last changes), save it, and then I can open them. Once I reopen them and change anything, it will do the same exact thing. So frustrating. Please fix it!

I can work around the limited app functions. I can work around the incredibly small screen. What I can't work with is the inability to use the app across all devices. The app will only open old spreadsheets. So if Im on the go I can't just open my work since I made adjustments/corrections using a computer yesterday. My solution was to resave the computer spreadsheet with a different name, each time, and use the app to open that new spreadsheet. Defeats the purpose of the app.

Has an Extremely serious bug that results in data loss! Excel fails to stage file saves, so when exiting and edited file, it tries to save .... but occasionally the app is prevented by the Android OS or other unknown reason. So BAMM!!! The entire file is corrupted and shows 0 bytes. All data lost. Full data loss occurred multiple times! HORRIBLE APP!!!

I've liked Excel pretty much back to its inception. Right now I'm having an issue trying to allow access to my SD card. When I try and load an Excel sheet from the SD card, the software has a problem. It doesn't take me back to the SD card it takes me to the download folder, with no other options. This particular file is constantly updated by myself and saved with a new name each time. This is the most important Excel document I have, and I have constant issues with it. I wish you would fix it.

Terrible loading times. It tries to re-download the workbook every time, which takes minutes even for the smallest files. I don't know why they don't let you immediately work from cache and sync in the background. This is a consumer product, not some Enterprise 360 business project. Google docs and OneNote are more seemless. I enable airplane mode to speed up loading. Sometimes it doesn't sync if you switch tasks. This app is also very lot lite on Excel features.

I enjoyed using Excel on my PC and Laptop for many years. So why not continue to use Excel to manage spreadsheets on my Android devices! It works very well and I'm familiar with many of the application features. Excel is the 'Gold Standard' when it comes to spreadsheet applications. Rich with so many features and very powerful for organizing, sorting, retrieving, charting, and presenting both numeric as well as alphabetic data.

I switched from using Sheets to Excel because I like Excel's desktop functionality and I thought the app would be great for on the go use. However, I've had problem after problem. I get kicked out of my profile. I get told there's no account associated with my email. The desktop data doesn't always transfer to the app/web version. Whole spreadsheets will go missing from the app and are only available on desktop even though I used the app before. I may go back to using Sheets.

"This version of Excel doesn't support running or interacting with form controls.". I was excited. My work requires me to fill out pre-made excel templates, and I finally didn't have to lug my laptop around with me. But they use a bubble checkmark system which appearantly the mobile version doesnt support for some reason. Works fine on desktop. 1 star. Fix it.

It's awesome that we can edit excel sheets on our phones, but the mobile app is not very intuitive. Some things are a pain to figure out how to do, for example simply inserting cells, and some thing are clunky, like selecting a cell to edit. It makes sense that the mobile app wouldn't be microsoft's focus, but I think the idea to try and get the ability to do everything on mobile, instead of doing a few things well, was misguided.

This app is very helpful for a person who does not have a laptop, and is working while also in school. Being able to creat a spreadsheet without having to carry extra luggage is great. The only problem I have from time to time is the loading of my files. When using a cloud storage some of the files will not show up sometimes. Not a big problem when around a computer, but definitely a nuisance, whether around a computer or not.

I love this app. It has been great to be able to work on a file and then if I'm or I can quickly access it on my phone and update it BUT as of the last couple of weeks when I open any files on my phone or said "read only"and won't allow me to access it except for when I'm at home on my laptop. It's very inconvenient. If there is a fix up change my rating back to a 5.
