Microsoft Sudoku

The Sudoku gameplay is great, with a few interesting variations and daily challenges in addition to different levels of the standard game. But the ads are loud, long, and frequent, making it practically unplayable. On the plus side, the ads are so annoying that you're not likely to lose all day playing a game. Tolerate one ad, play a game, and when the second ad starts close the app and put the phone down because nobody wants to put up with that twice.

Frustrating... l enjoy the game & concept; however, I'm about ready to uninstall due to frustration from having to keep starting challenges over & over. Can't always do them in one sitting; but even if I don't exit the game, if I need to take a call, or go to another app, when I go back to it; I'm forced to start over.

Paid for the subscription, but regularly it shows me ads anyway and doesn't give me the XP multiplier promised. Shoddy work, and makes no sense for this to be a subscription app... Just let me buy it and be done. Also the touch UI is so buggy. If you touch anything (or sometimes even if you don't) it'll turn off the notes mode as a surprise and cause you to get a mistake when you weren't trying to fill in the box, just mark a number as a note. OMG. Fix this.

Favorite sudoku out there, I just wish I could get a lifetime subscription. Until then I'll just put up with the ads. My only complaint is that when I accidentally miss the little ">>" or "x" it takes me to the Play store, and even though I try to get back to the Sudoku app, it resets everything and reloads it like I just opened it. 😞 Otherwise, super fun app with new challenges each day!

I have liked this game until now. It has become completely unplayable; I choose my game, maybe even watch an ad, but the game will not load, even after several minutes. Another issue is that if I minimize the game to address something else, it doesn't bring me back to my partially-finished game, it completely reloads the game so that I have to start over with a blank game.

Decent, but ad loading can be problematic. The game works well in the US when connected to the internet. The app is completely unplayable while traveling in the EU even while connected to the internet. It appears to have trouble loading ads. If it can't load the ad, it won't allow a game to load to be played. I've tried from multiple locations and have the same result. Ads can't load, so the game can't be played. It's pretty frustrating. I want to trust Microsoft.

The game is great. Issue is customer service. Issue with staying connected and loading games. Started going through online helps, articles, etc. Current version is 2.9.5xxx. My version is 2.9.3xxx. I have been unable to update my app. Opened ticket online. Response was condescending. It gave me suggestions to get update. Didn't work. Second response had additional suggestions. Didn't work. Third response was just a rehash of the first two. Nothing new. I suggested they link an upgr

Switching to another app or even glancing at notifications makes the game "out of sync" and requires a restart. Wait for it to reload and you get served two ads, even though you have a paid subscription to remove them. One of the ads opens the Play Store, which again makes the game out of sync. The added insult is that the notification that started it all was a spam email from Microsoft.

Gameplay wise this game is unmatched when it comes to actually playing Sudoku and it's variants. The reason for the low score is the absolutely abysmal ads they have in game. Ads on every screen which isn't too intrusive but you have to watch an ad after playing a couple levels. It initially wasn't too terrible but now they're just abusive. I would pay for a premium version to not have to deal with them but the premium version they offer is a yearly subscription to not watch ads. What a joke!

Don't pay for a subscription. I like the app, so I bought the year ad free subscription. I got about 10 days ad free, and now they've returned. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've tried to restore my purchase, and I've emailed Microsoft support, but I still have ads and am not getting double xp. I like the game, but I don't like that they took my money and did not provide the service I purchased.

Make the x on ads bigger, it can take 5 to 9 times for me to find the pixel or two that actually register instead of opening the play store for whatever game is in the ad. If I get it on the first try I celebrate more than solving one of the puzzles. I like the daily challenges. It's an ok sudoku app. Another problem is having both selection modes enabled at the same time, this causes all of my errors. You can either select a number and the select a cell or vice versa, make this an option.

Used to play this a bunch on the PC a year ago when I was actually able to, but I had to abandon it after it wouldn't load past the loading screen on startup. Saw that it was on the play store here and decided to try it, same issue after I logged into my account, which means my cloud save is corrupted or something. Not going to play it if I can't continue with the same achievements and stats. Support wasn't very helpful when I tried contacting them, and they ghosted me after the second email.

There are lots of variations and you get Xbox achievements. But there is one very frustrating element. I keep my input method set to"notes," but when you switch from evaluating numbers to evaluating cells, the game automatically switches back to "answers." This means that when I click on the next cell I want to evaluate, it is filled with whatever number I was most recently considering. You can't turn this option off in the challenge section, so the game recording mistakes I didn't make.

Yesterday I played the challenges for May 1st and 2nd, and today, the 3rd I go into the game and the first 2 days don't show as being played. I was signed in to xbox. I really like this sudoku app, in fact I paid for the subscription. But it sometimes doesn't save the progress in the daily challenges. It's intermittent. It's driving me crazy. I don't want to repeat challenges twice! Solitaire and mahjong don't have this issue.

People have complaining forever about the way this game freezes won't load and nothing has been done about it. I used to love this game but my previous review is the same.... I would like to say 5 I like the games and different themes. However, the challenges are frustrating. You can't go back to previous months and half the time I can't get them to load when I select it. Decent game, but lately the ads are getting more and more complicated. Not only do you wait until the the first page is done, you MUST tap an arrow to progress. Then you MUST tap the word done. Each time there is a countdown. Finally, you can X out. But ...do it just right or it's to the play store. It's just annoying. I'm done with it. Uninstalling now.

I looove microsoft sudoku but lately it hasn't been working. Everytime I click a game to play, it gets stuck on the loading screen. I close the app and restart it and it still does the same thing for both daily challenges and casual play. I was a daily player til a few weeks ago, I have to give up unfortunately since it is no longer playable for me.

The app works fairly good until you log into Xbox live. Then the app hangs on the startup screen. It also locks up on a Windows 10 PC. It worked fine until a few days ago, I had finished all the puzzles up to about the 25th or 26th, then it told me June was last month and erased all my July results. Now it won't even start. Delete the app and reload? It works until you sign in again. As an aside, it's really easy to accidently enter a wrong guess due to the interface.

Good game diminished by very frequent ads. You get ads at the bottom of the screen while playing and get full screen ads every ~3 games. The game sometimes hang while loading new game, could be trying to load ads, but freezes. Would also be nice to have forward re-do and long press of undo to clear all fields. Even though ads, I would still recommend playing free, don't pay annual or recurring fee, makes no sense.

The game itself is great, the challenges are fun. I'd give it 5 stars if the ads weren't so badly deceiving. The advertisement platform is down right EVIL the X does not clise ads, the back doesn't work. It purposely attempts to get you into the play store to see games or apps you do not want. This is really nasty code. Will quit because of this terribly frustrating behavior.
