Auto sleep mode is still too noisy for falling asleep, so I end up manually turning the thing off at night and turning it back on in the morning (when I remember). Update 12/2024: We've had our Mila's for a couple of years now (purchased spring of 2022). Two of our three stopped connecting to the app and don't function at all. The third one connects to the app intermittently for manual control, but otherwise runs at minimum. I would have expected more longevity for the cost per unit.
Generally good, love the data visualization. Login is terrible. The text boxes do not have the correct attributes, so Android doesn't recognize it can be auto-filled. Furthermore, email field isn't currently typed, so manually typing your email address is a major pain. Also you have to do this way too often, as the login expires rather quickly. If you have to do it so often the form should make it easy, instead of unusually difficult.
Really like the app and purifiers. Sometimes I doubt the accuracy of certain readings because I don't believe the air in my home is that clean. The conversational updates from the app always make me smile. Only concern I have - and this is not relevant to the app developers - is the noise all 3 of my units make at low speeds. This was not present in any of them until the past few months. Now ~1.5 years in all 3 of them do this. Makes them almost unusable for me. I expected a longer life.
Setup is beyond frustrating. I've setup the Mila 3 times and after successfully connecting to wifi, a minute later it goes offline. I'm hoping the purifier is better than the app. As of right now, less than impressed. Update: Everything seems to be working now. The start was rough but am enjoying the Milas that we purchased, along with the app. Not sure if it was user error or if the user needed to be more patient. Probably the latter.
I *love* the air filter. I have asthma and have tried a lot of them. The app has aggravating connectivity issues - even though I login to an account, my "trends" history takes SO LONG to load- whenever it doesn't just say "error loading data" Commands from the app take quite a while to come through to the unit.
Just some minor tweaks would help. First, not that easy to find how to add another device. First you find the floor and then find the + sign. Not very apparent. Second, when connecting with wifi the 'go to settings ' option is a dead end. If I connect via that it won't being me back to the config screen automatically. I had to back out and then go back in the app. This resets the app and since I'm not connected to the wifi but the device itself, I can't login again.
Okay, I'm surprised to see so many people complaining here. I didn't have any trouble connecting to WiFi or experienced bugs mentioned in so many reviews here. You have to drop your phone from your home WiFi and connect to Mila's WiFi first to enter your home WiFi password on the Mila itself so it can connect to your WiFi on its own. I think that may be throwing people off. I can't tell if the bugs were quickly addressed or I'm missing something here. Giving some commands to the app do all the stuff on the Mila for me. I don't get what bugs people are talking about here. It's aesthetically pleasing and responsive. I have to say it can be improved and not the most intuitive but it's not as bad as to receive a 1 star rating (unless you have a bad batch and you have bad sensors). It has too many navigation options which could be simplified more. My Mila kicks in a couple minutes after cooking, runs at high speed for 20 min or so and all the smells go away afterward. We don't even need those scented candles any more.
The new version of the app is the absolute worst (1.16)! The app was working great before they introduced the new version. It's absolutely useless! Now they are going to launch another version! Let's see how that goes! In the meantime, I'm beyond frustrated with this situation. Given the amount of money that I paid for the units and the top of the line filters that I use, I expect better quality with the app!
The app does not work, nothing but a white screen. The whole point of mila is to utilize all the features. With the app not working, it's just overpriced, loud, and don't get me started with the customer service, terrible, to say the least. There is no way to get a hold of them. I have sent over a dozen emails and set an appointment they never called and missed.
You're really good machines at cleaning the air however the internal sensor showing the air quality index in the room is a little strange. I have two units that set less than 8 ft apart and they read differently. so I think this quality control side is a little bit iffy. as far as the unit itself they are excellent at doing their job.
The air purifier it's self is pretty good but the app is just awful. Huge holes in the data on graphs. I don't think I have a single day I can find in the app that has a complete data set. Connectivity is very dicey and varies from day to day which is very annoying. The layout makes zero sense. Why do I need to go multiple menus deep to check how the AQI is compared to outside? Considering the data collection is the standout feature of this very expensive purifier, I wouldn't buy this product.
There were some connection issues with the app initially but after re-connecting the unit with my wifi (pressing the middle circle button on the unit) it seems to be OK. Had issues with the shipping as well. Ordered the unit on October 31st, got the tracking number on 11/11 AFTER I messaged them on 11/9. Received the sock 11/14 (about 15 days after the initial purchase), received the unit 11/18. Not a huge complaint but if you want an air purifier right away, purchase something else
wow this app has tanked, settings don't work anymore, descriptions are wrong telling me things like one room is 65 and I shouldn't keep it that hot for air quality next room is 68 and that's the perfect temperature. sleep mode normal is dead off but the next setting quieter turns fans way up not down. did y'all replace your humans with AI coding? looks like it
I expected more from this, given the premium over the junky air purifiers you can find all over Amazon but it's really disappointing. I spend more time troubleshooting and restarting these Milas and their buggy app than they do cleaning the air.
I wish we had a feature to cap the fan speed without having to go in and set it to manual mode and then back to automatic after. It is so loud at maximum speed and the app doesn't remember login information so it's annoying to have to keep logging in each time. I've already replaced the unit in my kitchen due to noisy bearings once, and it sounds like they are worsening again. The app also sends unhelpful environmental notifications more often than it used to, even after turning them off in-app.
App worked flawlessly to initially set up. Then it crashed and will not open. Removed and reinstalled the app multiple times and when I click "Sign In" I get a "Failed to receive discovery document: Network error". E: updated review to 5 stars. The glitch disappeared the next day, app has been working well and is packed with lots of information!
The app is no longer reliable, connection issues seem to be every day now, the filter also seems to be lost without connection, and randomly turns the fan to high when nothing in the room has changed I was thinking of buying 2 more machines as I do like them, and want for them other areas. However, with this new problem, I might have to look elsewhere if the issue isn't fixed soon, Reliability is important
Always offline. I seem to be always reconnecting or trying to reconnect my mila because it is never online and I can never make changes. I like the machine and had considered buying a 2nd but this is so annoying. Changing the schedule I have to go through reconnecting everytime - and it usually doesn't work. There are times it was easier to shut it off then play with the schedule.
Works as intended. Only things I would change is adding a "pause" feature so it can stop Housekeeping mode when we are in the room, just watching a movie and not moving. And if it would tell you what setting is running when you bring up the room, telling me it's in Automatic Mode is not helpful when the dementors are being sucked out of the room and I want to know why.
I can no longer change the manual speed in the app or get any data for my device despite leaving beta program and uninstalling and re installing the app and reconnecting the device. all around I love the concept of this device and app however the end user experience is generally more frustrating than anything else. especially with the gradually increasing noise of the machine making night time use near impossible.
