This app used to be good. When I started playing about a year ago, I would get short ads on occasion. These changed to ads on every win and loss. Then the ads got longer and longer, sometimes over a minute and requiring 6 or 7 clicks to get back to the game. Today I started getting 2 ads back to back. I love the game, but just too many ads. I'm uninstalling and finding something new.

I love this game, my only issue I have with it is the flag placement tends to be kinda finicky. Ive lost multiple games now due to it registering my input on the wrong square and not flagging a square at all even when it makes the sound like it registered (which sometimes registers as miss input). Though zooming in helps a bit. ADs aren't invasive at all, I only get them at the end of the round, overall would highly recommend!

This game has very little power usage, there are no forced ads in the couple of hours I've played so far, and it's just Minesweeper with no nonsense added on. Excellent game overall. Edit: after posting this review, I've gotten forced ads every time I've lost so it seems like some bait and switch garbage. It's still a good game and I get they want to make money but that's a dirty way to make it. Dropped my rating from 5 stars to 3. You can pay to remove ads but I'm not going to waste money. :(

It's fine, I suppose. But there's consistant issues with starting a game and immediately losing to a bomb on your first click. Flag placement is finicky. And I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do any kind of level other than easy, everything I try just doesn't get me off of easy mode, it's extremely frustrating. It's a very rough app, UI and gamplay.

the only thing that would greatly improve UX is not having an ad open immediately upon failing. It's impossible to review/learn from mistakes (or actually check if the error was embedded, like detonating a mine despite putting down flags). And super annoying that said ads can't be closed after they've run their course, the game has to be completely closed and you run the risk of clicking it and opening it in browser. I do like that it's easy to switch from 'flag mode' to 'mine mode'.

Been playing minesweeper since 1993. This version is very inaccurate, constantly marking squares I'm not marking, and detonating mines I knew were there. I have very small fingers too, so it's not that. It also doesn't keep accurate records. I only play on expert level, but it still records I've played on medium, even when I verify each game level. The ads come up so fast, you can't see what went wrong, and the only way to exit an ad is to close the whole app. This one needs SO much work.

the ads got worse than before. on top of that, there's a big that infuriates me every time it happens. if you manage to flag the right square, you can hold the number, and it'll reveal other free squares. but sometimes the game will pop the mine anyway when my fat finger clearly didn't touch the mine. you have to hold onto the square in order to sweep the other squares, so it isn't possible to tap on the already unlocked square and then die.

Used to be really good, but now (August 2024) the app glitches and it will end your game every single time, you don't even need to have clicked a square. Even before this, it switched from having different difficulties which were larger or smaller gameboards, to now having one sized gameboard with relatively large tiles, and the difficulty is just increasing or decreasing the number of flags.

The game is good. It's Minesweeper. So if you like Minesweeper, you'll like it. But sometimes I have trouble placing a flag (a common issue for me with these apps), which gives me anxiety everytime I need to place one. I wish there was also an option to toggle between flipping numbers and placing flags. I still enjoy the game, though, by playing without placing down any flags. It's harder but it's fun. I really, really LOVE Detonation. It should be it's own game.

Just like the one that first came out on Windows 286 (still have copy). 2nd review, using old version as newest version has waay too many ads. Could even break speed records if dev would cut down time to press to mark mines, have to keep pressing until it vibrates & mine is marked takes about 3-4 seconds. Just wanted an easy playing game without so much "bells & whistles". Using an older version of game. B^)

I don't know how accurate this is to the original minesweeper, but it's a great puzzle game. The ads aren't annoying, and you can just ignore the hints where the ads are (which is why they are not annoying). I wish I could change the numbers to look classic, not just the flags. Perty simple game, so the miner flaws remove a full star, but you can't be too picky. This is free.

The actual game is fine, and generally i accept that free games come with ads, but these ads are super obnoxious. No obvious way to close them, each one has a different unobvious way to close it, and the required viewing times are way too long. Also, no obvious way to look at your stats unless you win a game. I'm probably going to uninstall and find a different version.

Great game, needs a flag placement option, other than the long hold. Aggressive long ads, that require multiple clicks to exit, and only a subscription option to get rid of them. I played it sometimes on airplane mode, because the ads have rendered it unplayable, and I'm not about to start another subscription service for an app game.

Simple Minesweeper, right? Very smooth gameplay--and is straight to the point. No obnoxious ads. A bug I came across is when you start a Minesweeper field and accidentally place a flag. This causes the game to load all the mines without opening up space. It's hard for me to explain, but it's easy to come across with a miss click. I am having a blast quickly rummaging through the levels--I wonder if there are harder difficulties, however.

I can decently play the game without too frequent ad breaks. Minus 1 star is for the hint button actually being a "display all bomb locations for a split second." I wanted a hint; like look at this number, and with logic, we can isolate a bomb to this square or deduce it isn't a bomb. I felt like I wasted my time watching an ad for the hint when I was stuck. I enjoy the process of thinking it out and sometimes I need a nudge in the right direction, not the answer key

I've never fully completed a Minesweeper before. They have a difficulty setting, and I beat it on easy! First official minesweeper win! I know higher difficulty probably means more mines, but it's very engaging! Keeps your attention... heavily! They have a hint button (Is what I believe it is. I've never used it, but it's a light bulb! What else could it be?! Okay, I... may have tried to use it once! I got a little annoyed! There's ads if you try it, obviously. Though the ads are, pretty tame!)

One of my favorite games ever! I am glad to see it available for my phone!!! The flag/clear switch function has been changed and it is now less easy to blow up a mine you are trying to flag. A tutorial to explain the settings and the flag/clear switch would be nice. I would like to be able to set the bomb number myself, instead of it being automatic with the difficulty setting.

Used to work, but now I can't play it without internet. No, I'm not paying to play this classic game without ads; all I used to need was an ad blocker. I guess I could still play on easy mode and hope that I choose correctly on any random spots, but I like the hard mode. That's virtually impossible without pausing to see where the mines are, several times over. If I have to watch several ads per game now, it's not fun anymore.

Basically the same game that Microsoft has for teaching mouse control. However there is no mouse, so no left and right button. No instructions on controls so you have to learn using trial and error. Unfortunately the game often mistakes an attempt to mark as a clear (just the length of the press). Any slight movement of the finger sets the bomb off, instead of marking. Adds in game are obnoxious and over the top. There are better minesweepers, keep looking.

It's the good old classic. It's as fun as ever. My only gripe is that it is easy to forget if I am in clear or flag mode. So most of my games end in an accidental mine activation that I meant to flag. I would recommend an easier to reach and bigger more obvious button for switching modes, so I can more easily be reminded which mode I am in and switch more easily. Otherwise, it is a faithful recreation of a classic time killer.
