Terrible app, many pages do not have a "back" button so you are continually logged out. When logging in you usually get a "something went wrong" message. Also no longer able to use a PIN to log in so 2FA every time. Previously you could log in with ease if you turned off wifi (so using O2 network), but that no longer works. it used to work so well.
I don't know what's happening to this o2, whether it's the app or the join to virgin media orsomething else,but iv been trying to sign in to my account for last couple of days and I still can't get in. keeps repeating the same thing ,wants my email then sends me a verification email that I have to click on to confirm its me but then nothing ! I end up back to same page asking me to enter my email but repeats the same action ,I can't get into my account at all now ,ridiculous ! used to be easy.
absolutely useless. Now they've updated it with the vorgin media branding. Im now totally locked out of the app and have to pay my bill on the automated line. cant verify through the link, even though its the same email I've used for the last 7 plus years. Not good at all. this needs sorted before customers star leaving. if it was possible to have a half star review I would, 1 was generous.
Terrible app now! Worked fine before but going round in circles trying to login! Keeps asking for an email address which I enter, then verify the link in my emails but won't let me login. Asks for email address again. Please sort this out as I can't check my O2 account. 30/1/26: working fine now after contacting O2 customer services. Don't know what the problem was but they got it working for me, and it does what I want it to.
it's very informative when it works. But for me, it's always malfunctioning. Constantly goes down or doesn't load for me, and sometimes even signs me out. Not reliable for me at all. The old design was more reliable. This new design is totally unreliable. 2/5, only because it does show a lot of information on screen all in one place. No ads, which is good.
Just updated the app to the latest release. Click on the upgrade handset link... 403 Forbidden error. Cant believe after 2 years there are still problems with this app, and you have made no attempt to fix this. No connection. Something went wrong. PLEASE fix these occurring issues. I will be contacting the ombudsman, and switching to another provider.
It use to work well now can't log in. Changed password but still app doesn't recognise. I suspect that as usual the merger with Virgin Media is the problem. Virgin media's inability to do anything correctly is demonstrated in their negative capabilities of merging 02 accounts (that worked perfectly before with 02) and now isn't compatible with their system. Totally unacceptable. Bafoons...
I rarely leave reviews, but O2's PAYG changes have me fuming. They scrapped the easy *#10# balance check, forcing calls to their top-up line or using the awful app. I set it up on family phones with 4-digit PINs, but updates demand full logins every time to then set up a pin AGAIN! It glitches, hides balances, and wastes hours navigating. Since Virgin Media's takeover, service has tanked—this app's the last straw. I think they are trying to run O2 into the ground, well you are succeeding.
This new 02 app is unusable. Where's the simple make payment option?? Why do I have to go all the way around the app to make a payment then manage to find it and when it needs bank confirmation, I confirm only for the app to force close and restart. I got back in to make the payment again and it doe's not allow me.. This app needs a major update asap..
This app WAS great. It did everything I needed it to. Now it's updated i cant check how much Internet I have left, I cant pay my bill with 1 click like I could before, I cant check if there are any masts down in my area. There's no help on the help page at all it's just blank and the account tab at the bottom has completely disappeared.

trying to buy products from this app is awful, takes you all the way to checkout, you pay deposit or full amount and then crashes. leaving the funds removed from your account, but didn't actually proceed with the full purchase due to the app crash. tried multiple times, each time, deposit taken from bank, app crashes back to home screen with no evidence that the purchase went fully through. been sat on hold now trying to get this sorted for 2 days in a row. 02 can't return funds for 5 days
How to make a terrible app worse... merge with Virgin media! I still can't easily view my balance without freeze ups and buffering. It just took 5 attempts, every option was just a white buffering screen. I've made sure my phone is topped up for 6 months so I don't need to use it for a while.
I always used this app for topping up, now it doesn't work anymore, it opens in the browser asking to link with virgin media. Does anyone know how to top up cause I have no idea anymore how to do it. It used to be simple. I guess I'll have to move my number to a different operator.
used to be fine before but now after the virgin media gubbins it's absolutely awful. no longer a standalone app and just a web portal that constantly crashes and pages will show you different info depending on how it feels at the time... bring back the old app that actually worked and is actually useful
this app barley works. ui design is horrible and its full of errors. wanted to upgrade my device took hours to manage to try to make order .... you took my money then only errors. now i have no order showing up .. trying to get in touch with a human is imposible ... this is absurd ... not only you lost a sale today ...im going straight to a shop and canceling my contrract with you.
Had the app for years and worked fine. I changed my phone to a Samsung S24 and when I try and log in it says the app is not available to me yet! Update 28/01/24 called O2 for help as I can't see my bills raised a complaint and hope to have me working 3 to 5 day's. 06/02/24 I'm still waiting! Update 13/02/24 Contacted them again on the 8th of February and told I would be back on line in 3 to five day's. Update 10/02/2025 still no access! Now Feb 2026 and it's happened again. O2 sort it properly
it was alright before but now its an awful app i cant do the monthly roll over i want as always a problem. as well as that within the last 3 weeks i have had to buy two monthly roll overs as apparently my data has been used in them so quick apparently but before it would last the month
Cookies, marketing, ads, tracking, spam etc etc. No. I already pay you for a service, you've broken my ability to get my balance any other way, so a decent app would provide a straightforward service that is user oriented, not this spammy trickery.
Used to work fine with no issues. Can't even login now. Keep getting asked to verify email and reset my password, then add backup email address etc, and yet I still can't get in to my account. So poor.
completely unusable and I'm not sure what the pont is if you can't manage the phone plan. The window refreshes when verifying email so you're looped out unless you use a second device, and then you need a virgin media account to access the O2 account at all. edit: months later, same issue. stuck in a log in screen loop. do not download this just use the website.
