This app didn't work at all. It took way too long to get it to connect to the lights, a lot of plugging and unplugging and opening and closing of the app. When I did finally get them connected I thought it was good to go, but then I went to use it the next day and the lights were disconnected. not to mention without screwing the light strand into my wall they fall down constantly, even with extra strength sticky tabs added to them!!! Not worth the time, effort, or money.
Worthless after setup, constant crashing. The app stayed active long enough to connect a set of strip lights. After the first time attempting to control them, they began flashing, the app said they were offline, and it crashed. Now when I open it I get a request to send the crash data and it closes out. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and set up the lights a second time. The results were the exact same
I would have liked to believe that monster would be able to deliver on their product, but it is a big failure. Connection was virtually impossible even when creating a separate wifi in the 2.4 band, staying close to the router. etc. I would invest elsewhere. It's a case of great vision but poor execution. I have written this after trying for the past 3 days.
Literally does not freaking work. Straight up does not work. No way to find out why or ask questions, the website is completely unhelpful and it sounds like other people are also getting defective devices so... (update:) Still doesnt work. Lights dont work, app doesnt work, when it does work it stops working after a minute or two. Very unhappy with this very stupid light strip.
Well, the items itself was nice and cool, but after an issue with the Bluetooth, when I was attempting to reconnect the LED lights to my phone, one of the LED lights decided it was a good time to just explode on itself, no clue why, just did. The app itself is helpful, but the items itself sucks horribly, I recommend to return the items if possible. (No clue if the items I got were faulty, but for the fact they caught on fire, is a big no for me)
When I got them, they worked great. After I had bought a new router though and switched the wifi, they wouldn't connect despite me attempting to reset them every way possible. Not a single thing worked and they still haven't connected. Along with this (I don't mind it but it's just low quality) they're really short. I could probably buy something much higher quality with the same amount of money. Please don't buy these.
I have definitely dealt with some trash apps for lighting, but this one is really up there. No response from device on any method of trying to get it connected to WiFi. AP mode, EZ mode, auto-scan, add manually... None of it works. I purchased the Orb to integrate with the rest of my smart home. Alas, the app seems to be coded by four year-olds who don't understand that you don't need to search for a device when you are directly connected to it via AP. Returning this garbage. Never again.
I need Monster Smart to do me a favor and just delete this app and recall all your products. I've never had such a difficult time connecting simple LEDs to an app. Stop wasting everyone's time and money and just give everyone a full reimbursement and close your business for good. I'm only giving it one star, cause it couldn't let me give it no stars.

Procyon Nova (MofoMan2000)
Won't pair with my LED strip. Kind of ridiculous given THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO USE THESE STRIPS. Can't use it with your PC with USB like a sane product. You have to go through this ridiculous pairing process so it can connect to your Wi-Fi for some reason so you can use it through their app which depends on the app on your phone working. Why can't I just use the stupid strip through USB on my computer, since the thing is literally connected through a USB cable?
Borderline unusable. Almost impossible to get it to pair, and once it is paired, every single time u try to reconnect it is going to fail unless you delete the device and re-pair it. Every single time. UPDATE: Now the app will refuse to connect to any existing lights, and won't let you delete or connect new ones unless you are signed in and connected to the internet. I just want to change the goddam color of my LEDs There is absolutely no reason to require an account or an internet connection
This rating is based off my experience with other free led remote apps, I haven't tried any of the other "smart" devices on this app besides the lights. It's definitely my favorite. It's ad free, doesn't restrict you to a select number of color options, and has an option for your own rotating colors. It is difficult to get it connected at first, but that seems to be a common issue with almost all "smart remote" apps as far as I'm aware. Good app if you are patient.
Brought the indoor/outdoor lights. Worked at first but took more than 10 tries. Everything we lose power I have to add the device again. Dedicated a 2.4GHz line from my modem for this lights strip. Connected quickly. We lost power and I thought it'd be a breeze to reconnect now that I have the delicate line but it's been over a month of trying periodically. Will look for a new company that provides better tech.
Hi. I bought 5 packs of the smart led light strips that work with this app. I love the automation features, but I have a problem when using colors. If the lights are set to white, they will dim and brighten as the automation timers tells them to. The lights that are on a color setting won't obey the automation dimmer. If I switch them all to white lights, the automation works fine. Please fix this so the lights will brighten and dim with the automation even if I have a color selection.
Biggest joke on the market! Outdated product, nonfunctional app, waste of my time and money. Honestly just go buy a $10 RGB LED strip with a cheap remote. Way more efficient than this stupid product (not just talking about the app)! How're you gonna tell me it's okay to go out and spend $35 on a product that doesnt even function as advertised. It's also hilarious that yall want people to use a 2.4ghz wifi network when modern day wifi is 5ghz
I don't know about anyone else's experience but this app does not work. I followed the directions it gave me in the instructions and tried out a few things it didn't suggest and I was still unable to pair my device with the led light strips. The packet tells you to connect the light strips with the lighting wifi setting which I thought was strange so I tried that along with the led strip setting, and neither worked. I wasn't able to get past that. This app and these lights are useless.
It works, but it's buggy. Of all the options it has, i can only use maybe 6 (within 2 categories) if I use the others, the lights freeze in that mode then go offline. It's a real bugger to get working again. Usually involves removing the lights from the AP and setting them up again almost from scratch. I don't know if it's an app issue or lights (3 =6' monster light strings) either way guys, fix this and update. It's really annoying. Your product wasn't cheap...
Horrible. It rarely connects so whatever color/pattern you select stays that way until you unplug the light, I bought 2 neon strips from them and one of them won't reconnect no matter what I do. I tried customer service but they tell me the same thing the box says, "just unplug and plug in three times". Looks cool, and could be a great product but it seems I run into the same problems as other users.
This app isn't horrible but it could definitely be better. It always disconnects after like 4 days. And when I try to reconnect them, it says it can't connect. But when I do get them to work it is amazing. They are good lights but it would be better if they were connected to a controller and not a phone. Overall the lights aren't horrible but they definitely need work.
Bought the LED light strips. Terrible idea. They do not connect to my phone at all. I tried EZ mode and AP mode numerous times and followed the set up instructions exactly as I was supposed to. They don't connect in AP mode and the wifi disappears in EZ mode so it's impossible to connect them. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Monster light strips.
The worst paring system ever! It refuses to connect even when everything is just 1/2 inch away from the lights, routher, and phone. It NEEDS the mobile app just for it to be hardwired to the pc. I have tried using 2.4 wireless, 5.0 wireless, bluetooth, hardwire to pc. Nothing. Dont even try to use this app, if are a 1st time user, just return your lights back to the store you got them from and use that refund towards a better company.
