I've been a Morgan Stanley customer for years and the app has consistently been the worst part of working with them. while the app has not been good throughout my time with them in the last 6 months I have consistently only been able to use the app if I uninstall and reinstall it. I can use it for that one usage and every use. after that the app claims to have loaded but I see nothing but a light gray screen. I seen the same issue on both my Google pixel phone and my Google pixel tablet.
Feb 27 update. Still doesn't work, even after your recent app update. I uninstalled and reinstalled also, no joy. I can access my acct in my phone's browser, but the app doesn't function. Last few days, the app won't let me login. Fill in user name and password, but when you try to press login nothing happens. The login box is not exactly grayed out but it clearly doesn't become active after input. My account is fine and my ipad app works fine so clearly this android app needs to be repaired.
Android login difficulty solution: I was having the same issue logging in as many other Android users. The solution was really easy and made me feel a little silly, but you cannot have any spaces before or after your username. My phone kept auto filling my username and it had a space at the end, thus the login button stayed grayed out. I took out the space and the login worked! Try this if you have had problems
As others have noted, biometric login no longer pops up when the app is opened. I have ensured that biometric login is enabled . This only started with the latest version of the app, which for me is v2. 11.41. I called Morgan Stanley to get support, and I was told I would be contacted within three business days to follow up. They did not call me back, and it has now been four business days. Other than this, the app works has it did before, but logging in is now laborious.
This app is terrible....etrade's app is superior. It takes too many clicks just to get to your holdings. And then when you do you can scroll left or right to see the columns. The underlying module they use for the asset grid isn't mobile friendly (or at least Android friendly.) The grid doesn't move when you try and scroll right or left.
I've been waiting for a fix since the update in late July for the current daily Dow, S&P 500, and NASDQ gains/losses that went missing to return. Why is it gone and will you fix this. It's the main reason I use the app and now I find myself having to go to the website itself to get this information. Very disappointing.
Damn app. 1) takes exactly 3 tries every time to log in as it reports a bogus network connection issue on first 2 tries. Same issue as reported by others 2) went to use digital vault and it wants me to grant Storage permissions, well this isn't possible on Android if the app doesn't request them in the first place!
The app has been mostly pretty solid on android for years but their latest update just outright crashes when I try to initiate a mobile deposit. That's like half the reason to do mobile banking. It's been broken like this for weeks without a hotfix.
The app is great when you're in it, but as soon as you exit out, having to verify your identity everytime is unacceptable, even after I changed my settings to bypass the two way verification. May leave over this annoyance. My FA left Schwab to go here, and I want to stay with him, but this apps security settings are flaming hot garbage. Please fix this! Does it for my samsung phones in the app and on an internet browser and I tried it on a new IPhone.
After an uninstall and reinstall from the Google Playstation, the app does not show up on the homescreen. And the app itself got corrupted requiring the uninstall/reinstall operation. I wound up calling Morgan Stanley on this and the agent said something about their having trouble with Android phones. previously had trouble with mobile deposits but that's improved.
Asks for a verification code sent to your phone every time you log in, even though the device was already added to the trusted devices list. This cannot be the intended behavior as people likely need to log in multiple times a day. Reached out the dev team and was told that this is working as intended, even though this is not the case for web access. Why would I want to do password and text code verification every time I log in? Please fix this!
The guys at the office are great. The app has been having trouble for months. Can log on one day and then not again until I call and get help. Fix this app. Using an Android worked perfectly till about 4 months ago been having issues ever since.
I have to revise my initial negative review of last week.I could not find any way to use fingerprint logon in greatly updated app. I complained to Customer Support, and was astonished to get an acknowledgement of the problem that same day and a promise to correct it very shortly. After installing the version now available (a/o Monday, August 1) I did have to re-register my account, but that went very smoothly. Highest compliments to MS tech support for their response.
Its a nice looking app, but its frustrating to verify my device and it still has me complete 2 step verification. Even more frustrating is when I completely turn off 2 step verification within the settings, and it STILL has me complete the 2 step verification. When adjustments to the settings don't work, I can't give a 5 star like I would like to.
Step up your game Morgan Stanley. Scroll functionality within a mobile app is paramount, and yours is broken and unusable - has been for days. I've gone the polite route of submitting an error report and gotten no response. Embarrassing... Update: Recieved response from Dev, claimed stability issue was tethered to a chrome app update. Weird dependency, but its working now after updating chrome.
App doesn't update in a timely manner, if at all for certain accounts. Plus some can't even sync for a manual update... connection not available. I question whether this app was validated prior to being added on the play store.
Poor experience. The app does not load. Just get a blank whire screen or spinning blue circle. Need to fix as this has been going on for at least a month. Reinstalling does not work. Rebooting does not work. No it is not my phone as this is the only app that does not work
Flacky, sometimes I can upload a photo other times it starts over. It will not allow me to upload a file from my phone. Thank God the fingerprint reader works. I can't imagine using a password as often as this app would require.
I have used the app for a couple of years on my Samsung phone. Now te app has stopped working. When selected the screen that has a "wheel/gear" just spins and say: "Loading...", but never loads. Eventually it jumps to a blank screen.
Whenever I select the 'remember my username' on the sign in screen it never works. This has been a problem for over a year now. I assumed it would be fixed so haven't said anything until now but this is horrible. Also when will you support face ID for Pixel 4?
