The app no longer works properly. It keeps crashing or you have to input your password multiple times in order for it to finally open. I have been trying to use this app for the past 3 days and nothing. Whatever "updates" or "improvements" that were supposed to be made suck....and NO! I will not call an 800 # or try to "troubleshoot" anything. YOU FIX IT!

App will no longer open.... opens for a split second then closes immediately. After a couple attempts my phone notifies, that there is an app that is repeatedly crashing and asks if I want to close or wait. I've tried uninstalling it then re-installing, clearing cache, I even double checked to make sure I had current version of the app.... nothing seems to help. May be forced to switch all my activity to a different account with a local credit union, much more reliable in terms of convenience

A recent flurry of updates has broken this app beyond the ability to use it. I have resorted to using the browser version because the app no longer allows me to log in. You used to be able to log in directly through the app, recently its been redirecting me to the browser to enter my password. I enter it and it takes me to the app. Then, right back to the browser to log in. It then makes me do that perpetually. Biometric security does not work either. Prompts to enable then never does.

Last update completely ruined this app and I'm honestly thinking about taking my business elsewhere after ~10 years. I can hardly ever log in to my account now, and the biometrics doesn't work at all. I enter my login info manually and it just takes me back to the log in screen in an endless loop. Congratulations on breaking an app that didn't need fixing or improved. Learn to leave things alone.

I deleted my review from a few days ago about the changes to the app login. I'm having the same problems listed by many other users here. I will be deleting this app. The reason now for the new login method, regardless of what the support is saying, has to do with collecting our personal data to give to Peter Theil and Palantir to further spy on us. It's not just how we use this app, but everything on our devices that we use. Contacts, browsing history, location data, etc.

Beyond sick of having to receive a code every log-in & lacks capabilities. My fingerprint proves it's me. There is zero logic to two-step verification for the app. If someone has my fingerprint, then they also have access to my phone/email (it's either me or they've dismembered me...). Also, you can't view any monthly statements in the app. Huh? And, you can't schedule recurring credit card payments in the app (or online). Only in person. The app does NOT aide in convenience or time savings.

The app is awesome if it works. I've always had to clear everything before it has ever let me sign in. Now last few weeks every time I try to sign in it flashes my accounts then logs me out. It takes logging in a minimum of 3 times, sometimes even more. It's such an inconvenience. That doesn't include all the time it's down for maintenence. If I wanted to call them I would have just done that instead of downloading their app. I've been a long time customer, but maybe not for much longer.

M&T took over People's United that's why I'm with them. When the switch happened there were issues but I gave it time and it seemed to be sorted. But now again for months now, the app rarely lets me even just sign in. If it does, the loading wheel usually just spins. I'm forced to restart the phone, and that doesn't always work. The main way I check balances or deposit checks is mobile so it's frustrating. I've talked to the bank, cleared cache on my phone, etc. It seems just not to work well

The app is terrible. For the past month, I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app in order to sign in. It kept telling me that mobile banking was unavailable. I initially thought that their entire system was down. Nope, just the app. Now, it won't even let me make a mobile deposit, even after reinstalling it, restarting the phone, and making sure that the software is updated. It worked fine for years prior. What happened all of a sudden?

The app was great, but now it crashes all the time. Every log-on is an issue since the UI 6.1 update. Every time I attempt to log on now, the app says, "You have been logged off due to no activity for 5 minutes,, please log on again." Or something similar. I do so and often get the same message again. Additionally, I now also get a messase saying that the app constantly crashes and needs to be closed. Please fix ASAP. I don't know what you did, but for me, this is a reason to change banks.

Please fix your app. It is constantly crashing, not signing in properly when signed out automatically and say that "mobile banking is temporarily unavailable" and I have to force close the app and then reopen it. I know the developer sees these frustrations. Why haven't these fixes been made? The app hasn't been updated in nearly 5 months and the problems get worse. It gives me the feeling that the app may not longer be secure to use.

Bank is terrible. App is worse. I am forced EVERY time I enter the app to have a code emailed to me, even though I literally just scanned my fingerprint. And then I have to scan my fingerprint AGAIN after the code is entered. Theres no way to set up auto bill pay for my loan online (web or app). I was told to mail in a form. The process of getting my RV loan was also a lot of run around and chasing information. People I talked to were nice, but not enough to make up for the difficulties.

I was a customer of theirs for over 5 years. During that time, I could never get this app to allow me to login. I'd reset my password, sometimes requiring me to call their customer service (an experience as equally frustrating and problematic), yet still could never reliably count on this app to do the basics. Never been happier to uninstall an app.

Only reason Im not giving it one star is because when it works, it's a great app. Unfortunately, that's only about 10% of the time. The rest is failed attempts to login due to mobile banking being unavailable. If this was only once or twice it'd be fine, but it happens literally every week. Very unprofessional and a poor way to interact with customers. Quit playing around and program an app that works!

Update: my apps are set to automatically update overnight. Having the latest version shouldn't be an issue. This app required locations services to be active every single time simply to log in. It also requires several other things beyond any other bank or credit card app. Not only did this app get deleted, closing my accounts with m&t is my top priority. They are far too invasive.

Have not had a worse banking app. Refuses to open. I have all of the updates too. Have to reset the app multiple times to get it to work. My in laws have been having issues logging in to the website too. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this issue. They are losing it as a bank in the technology and customer service aspect. We are looking into switching banks l due to how bad the app is.

App crashes and is very buggy, even on a new Galaxy phone. When you first log in, it immediately tells you that you've been logged in for a while and forces you to log out. When you log in again, a notice comes up that the app stopped working and forces you to close. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix it. This has been happening for weeks now but no real fix yet???

Recent update completely prevents me from depositing checks. Camera will open and close immediately with no picture. This could cause missed payments. This bug has existed for far too long for far too many people. EDIT: I'm glad the team is aware of the issue and I'll update my rating when this is fixed. My workaround was to use my Samsung tablet instead of my Pixel 6 phone. For anyone else with this issue, try another device if you can.

I'd give this app a 3.5 if I could. It regularly will not open, and has occasionally cleared my saved login information without permission. But once you're through the login phase it works great. Never had any issues after that. The banking itself is good, M&T is a good bank to work with. They helped my brother out when he experienced some fraud recently.

95% of the time, you can't log into your accounts. It just sits and churns for days at a time. It makes it really hard to transfer money from checking to pay my M&T credit card. I don't have time to run to the bank to actually go in and move the money. I have a personal and business account, I am considering changing banks because this is so frustrating for such a long time already. I have an account with PSECU never is there an issue with their mobile app. Maybe consider looking into their app?
