Mute.

The app works perfectly, does what should be a built-in function of the operating system. However, it regularly pops up a request for you to rate the app. On that pop up is a check box saying not to ask again...but it does. So after putting up with that for a year, I'm writing a review hoping -that- will stop it from disrupting my phone use.

(Update to original 5 star review from last year) I've used it for a long time, but today the icon stopped changing from green to red and back when muting and unmuting the phone. The widget still works but having the color change is a big deal, otherwise it's basically impossible to tell at a glance if the phone's muted or not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, with the "do not disturb" permission turned on but it's still not changing color. Can this be fixed?

Works well - except doesn't display any colors to indicate whether it is on or off. It's fantastic that I can mute everything but alarms. I do wish that it had an obvious indicator as to whether it is on or off because sometimes I forget to turn it off which I am sure I could avoid more often if there were an indicator staring me in the face on my home screen..

Great little app, does what I wanted. One suggestion: I wish it could indicate on the app icon itself whether it's in Mute status or not. Maybe make the little "audio" marks disappear when it's muted? I do like the fact that you can just use the red/green icon to mute/unmute. That's really all I needed. Thanks for a great app!

Simple and effective. It would be useful if for example the widget would turn green when it is on and red when it is stopped. Also a suggested timer by others to turn it off would be great. THANKS for the reply. You are right about the widget. The minor problem is that the widget can't be moved to the app dock, to be accessible from all pages so I only use docked app icon which doesn't change the color. Changed rating to 5 stars.

I've got the permissions correct, and if I select any mute duration (10 mins etc) it does mute the phone, but it stays muted forever.... A pity, as it was something I really would have used a lot. EDIT: Bloody HyperOS battery saver got me again! Now working perfectly.

LOVE THIS APP! They couldn't have named it anything better! MUTE! It's a "Widget" only! You can't use it as an app! It's small, adjustable (resizing) and does exactly what it says it does. . . (Red) It mutes your sound, your notifications, etc, then just TAP the widget to turn back on (Green) and you're all set to go! Get one! No ads! All it takes is a tap to turn ON (Green) and OFF (Red). I think now, it's perfect as is!

So many apps sneak their way past the device's sound settings but Mute saves the day! Now I'm not waking my husband with startling ad noises from games that supposedly have sounds turned off! The only thing missing would be the ability to white-list other apps, like a music player or audible e-reader so that I could listen to something on a sleep timer while falling asleep.

I'm looking for a program I can use to mute the phone while I sleep, this only allows a timer up to 4 hours, I sleep longer than 4 hours. every morning I forget to unmute my phone, I used to use do not disturb premium but looks like they're out of business now and their app stopped working with the latest update to the Galaxy a 54. I didn't know whether to give it three or four stars because it does work but the limitation of 4 hours is too short, there should be more options

This app / widget is exactly what I was hoping for - a one click means of muting and unmuting streaming audio. I like to listen to various radio streams but have wanted the ability to mute the streams during commercial breaks. This app makes it very easy by letting you add a widget to the home screen to mute / unmute audio being streamed to bluetooth speakers. Thanks to the developer for making a very straightforward and useful app!

Wanted to like this app and gave it many chances. But it's buggy. Example: when set for 10 minutes, it finally unmuted at 17. Example: when manually unmuting, it puts the phone in vibrate with no sound, and no notification that it has done that. Example: unmuting manually AND ensuring the sound is ON and turned UP, a few minutes later the sound has magically been turned back down again. But it's an excellent idea for an app, and I hope to come back to it after the bugs have been worked out.

I changed my review to 3 starts after reading the developers response. Indeed, I installed the widget and it shows red when you mute and green when you unmute, which is very good -- i have not found another app that will show a volume indicator and I have searched/tried a lot. However, the app has limited functionality in that it can only mute for 10 min or 1 hour. And, if you unmute by another means during the muted period, the widget indicator still says mute.

Good app, except it minimizes YouTube into picture-in-pictute mode if enabled while watching in fullscreen mode. I'm unsure if this is because I open the app through the Bixby button, but either way, it does not function the way I want it to. The idea was to enable this app through Bixby in order for the Bixby button's single press to act as a mute button, since my Galaxy S10 doesn't have one. I tried turning off pop-ups for it in settings in an attempt to stop it from minimizing, to no avail.

It works great (after I figured out how to map it over my smartphone's Bixby button)! I use it to mute repetitive advertisements when streaming. The only annoyance is that, because my button remapper app launches an app (i.e., Mute), there's a 2-second delay between the button press and mute/unmute.

It's a pretty nice for remapping my Bixby button, IMPROVEMENTS; but I wish it becomes more like an alert slider ,meaning when i click it i want the phone to be able to switch to vibrate ,or switch to mute and obviously with the standard sound mode as well.(this could be just like a toggle in the settings of the app or maybe an extension I'd be happy to download)

I installed this the other day, and it is working great for me. It would be super useful if other apps (not just the alarm) could be exempt from being muted. In this instance, it is just one other app.

UPDATE: I REMOVED THE WIDGET AND PUT IT BACK IN AGAIN IT WORKS PERFECTLY. Updated to 5 stars for immediate response and function. ..... Very disappointed. I loaded from Playstore, put the widget on my homescreen, tapped and it muted. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell me whether or not it's in mute or unmute mode and I haven't found a way to get it in the unmute mode. Am I doing something wrong here? I'll change the review if I can get the thing to work.

This app is great. If they could add a timer that could be done via manual input for example: I want a timer for 3 min and 35 seconds. I could add that and save it to my timers. Hope this happens in future updates. If you want to charge money for that I'll pay.

Works reliably and without fuss. Mutes media as well as notifications, system sounds etc, so there are no surprises. I need my phone to be completely silent to be professional in my job, and this is the first muting app I trust to deliver that.

When first installed, it worked great...a 5-star app. Within the last week the app quit functioning. It used to display red sound waves when muted and green sound waves when not muted. Doesn't do this now. Uninstalled and re-installed, didn't fix issue. At this time app does not mute at all.
