Issues with this app. takes forever to start my vehicle and lately is won't read fuel levels accurately. I can fill the tank and it will show the gas level at 5% and 57 miles left. Refreshing or reinstalling the app does not fix the problem. only thing I like is that if I use the app to start the car it turn on the heated seats, which is really nice during the winter.
For 13 months I've cursed the MyChevrolet app. Slow, unreliable, countless errors, etc. Last week I stood beside my car and used the app to unlock it. The process easily took 3 to 4 minutes. With all my vehicle software updated this week, unlocking took just under one minute tonight. On Android, the MyGMC app is a newer version than MyChevrolet. With that app installed, unlocking the car took less than 10 seconds. MyGMC is version 7.6.0 in the Play Store. I've switched apps!
app has the option to give you a diagnostic, but it doesn't apply to my vehicle apparently. works for basic needs as far as locking/unlocking, starting up, miles, gas percentage, and that's pretty much it. Need improvement on what's actually wrong with the car so it could save me trips to the "wrong mechanics" it's like everyone taking educated guesses like money grows on trees.
At least it will turn on the car climate most of the time, but so does a remote. App is horrible at updating the charge level (or fuel level for others) it will go days being defective and other times it can update after two or more refreshes. Deleting cache and data doesn't work. Don't know why it can connect to the car for climate but not the charge reliably. This is a widespread issue that isn't addressed in updates to the app. Needs to be worked on.
Edit: after several months, an update has finally resolved the below issue. I've updated my score from one to three stars. Original Text: The app absolutely will not let me remain signed in. Once or twice a week, when I try to check my charging status, it asks me to sign in again due to a "temporary error." Doesn't seem so temporary. This is why APIs for these vehicles should be open-source. A neighborhood coder could probably make a much more functional app.
The app works okay for remote control of my vehicle, but steer clear of trying to schedule service through the app. I tried to and it made me wait for weeks for an appointment at an express service counter for my dealer. The thing is, that express service counter doesn't even accept appointments and they can't service my vehicle there. This wasted a bunch of my time and I had to make a separate appointment in person. Beyond that, it constantly pointlessly signs me out for no reason.
So, this app is pretty much useless without OnStar. I wanted the app for remote start, vehicle location, and lock/unlock capability. None of these work without OnStar. As OnStar is a rip off and mostly useless, I will not be getting a subscription to use the built in features my car already has. What a boldfaced money grab. The Ford app for my other car lets me do all this and more with no subscription. This is likely the last time I buy a Chevy. I expected more from Chevy. So disappointed.
Really useful app - just wish it would work a little more consistently, and it would be cool if you could adjust other things, such as temperature, heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc remotely. There are times that I'd like to set the temperature to something other than the last temperature I had it set to. It would also be nice if you could drive the vehicle just with the app or a card, kind of like Tesla does; the key fob for my truck is extremely clunky, especially for a 2023.
After almost a year using the app with no issues, now I'm being told to login when opening the app. However, clicking login from the app directs you to an all white page. I was able to resolve this issue myself using a few steps to get the sign in page to open in an Incognito page, where I was able to complete the request for a passcode and enter it. I am back up and running perfectly now!
No Auto Option. There is not an option in the app to turn the fan in auto mode. If you get out of the vehicle and do not remember to turn the fan on auto mode, the vehicle will not warm or cool until you get in and push the start button. I have a 26 Equinox RS, and this is frustrating. No matter what I left the setting on in my last vehicle, it would cool or heat upon remote start based on the outside temp.
It's been a great experience up until the last month or so! now II have no accurate information about my vehicle and it's just the same as it was 2 fill ups or 800ish miles ago and I have no access to any safety features that I should have through the app and I can't change the wifi settings or even get passed the manage wifi screen! And the help section is completely useless and gives you the things you don't need and not at all helpful and time consuming unhelpful waste of time. needs fixed
As usuall app doesn't work. More down time than up. when I bought the truck I could control the climate through the app, now it's gone with no explanation why. was contacted by app developer and told to uninstall and reinstall, emailed them back explaining that didn't work and any help would be great. Haven't heard anything back, guessing I won't. but the good news is I can test my trailer lights from the app for a trailer I only pull a handful of times. fix the problem man.
The app provides limited control of the vehicle without paying a lot to OnStar for more access. I do pay OnStar a monthly fee, but I am unable to change the charge settings for my Bolt from the app. When we first bought the EV, and had an introductory OnStar account which would have cost a lot more than what I'm currently paying, we had the ability to program charging from the app. I dislike that the usefulness of a Chevy app is tied to fees to OnStar.

The app is very slow to open, and often refuses to open entirely, requiring me to uninstall and reinstall. An app that doesn't work at all approximately 25% of the time is not worth using, and eliminates a good portion of my car's remote capabilities. Chevrolet has a long way to go to make even this basic app reliable.
Haven't been able to remote start my car with the app in nearly a week now, and during one of the coldest January months in recent history. constantly saying it failed to connect. Logging in and out didn't help. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and now it still fails to do anything it just doesn't tell me it failed to connect to my car. I might as well cancel Onstar because this app is the only thing I pay for it to use.
This app never works - I go to start my car and it fails to start I go to unlock my car and it fails to unlock and all it constantly does is tell me to use my key. If I wanted to use my key what the hell is the point of having the app. I've used other apps in the past for other brands of cars and they all have the quirks but to not work at all is a hell of a thing to be wrong with an app for multi-billion dollar company maybe learn to properly design and code your systems so the basic works.
The worst app I've ever used. I regularly have to log back into my account to start my vehicle which is fine however it requires a code to be emailed to me, and it never works after the code is sent. It takes anywhere from three to ten attempts, causing my app to lock up. It is crazy how such a large company could have such a poorly designed app. *** Update *** I should mention that this is not an issue isolated to one day, for the entire time I've been using it. 7 attempts today. Still bad!
Sending remote start command continues to be in my notifications with the scrolling progress bar for hours on end and does not go away until I swipe it to go away. Before it would go away when my car would auto start and tell me my car is started. It does not tell me my car is starting anymore. For the most part the app is decent. It does not send me the correct tire pressure it's way higher than what my car says.
This app is still downright terrible (2023-2026). There are still desirable features missing. Also the remote controls that are in the app are poorly coded so it takes forever to send commands or receive information from the car. Almost every time I start my car with it, it either doesnt start or turns off well before the app says it will.
Using the app since 9/2025. Love the car but the App response with car is extremely slow... painfully slow, which is inexcusable in modem times. Frequently go to use climate controls only to get a message that it can't connect to the car and to use the remote. keep hoping for an update that will make at least some improvement.
