I've rewritten a review many times. This is my final thoughts after having Gabb phones for 2 years. Customer service is SO GOOD - very helpful/responsive. However, they aren't capable of improving the failures. Main complaint: GPS location. It works most of the time on 1 of our kids phones, works about 10% of the time on the other. Refreshing the location does nothing most of the time, the automatic update is only every 10min. If location is important, I'd recommend going with a Bark Phone.
It worked ok, and then so many glitches and problems. GPS alerts were great and now they're delayed by 5 or ten minutes. Being able to text back and forth was great and now it doesn't receive our messages. And when I try to do the web chat for help, it takes forever. Call for support? Good luck - it takes forever. We are strongly considering canceling the watch and going a different route. edit: they want feedback through the app. we tried. it "failed to send feedback", so much for that!
Every time the app or watch receives an update, my watch unpairs, loses the ability to be recognized, or straight up disappears from the app. Today, it happened again with the latest app update and refresh. Sometimes I can fix it, other times it just won't work and takes over a week to be fixed. Most of the time, I just have to try again once a day until it finally works. I will not renew after my contract is up.
Update: Gabb reached out and sent me a new watch. After a few hiccups. the apps are now functioning well. Terrible Experience. GPS is delayed. now the watch 3se is only on black screen and i cannot even turn it back on, i tried to remove and repair the device. We hardly used it, had for 1 year. Would not recommend getting stuck in a contract for a service that cannot be used.
Watch just randomly unpairs from the app, rendering it completely pointless. The watch won't pair again after using all of the troubleshoot steps. I wouldn't recommend trusting your child's safety with gabb. UPDATE: Added a star because cancellation was easy and hassle-free. They, of course, offered to fix the problem and give discounts, but didn't pressure.
After the update I am no longer able to add new contacts to my child's contact list. I see an error message in red that says "please select child first". I only have one child account. Update: Customer service was very helpful. I was able to resolve the issue after resetting the watch. Nothing was lost on the watch so that was nice. Customer service definitely went above and beyond.
Buggy and burdensome. So many false location alerts! I'm glad at least the calls and texts work, but the basic apps are dysfunctional. The calculator, the alarms and timers... junk! I am constantly getting false GPS alerts saying the watch is miles away, even at 3 in the morning! I have contacted support but the steps to fix it are ridiculous and don't work anyway. I dread system updates since they always cause problem. It's the cheapest service for what it does but you get what you pay for...
Same as most everyone else with the inaccurate gps location. Ex..when my daughter is at school, sometimes it will show her miles away. It is useless. I requested Life360 so the entire family is on one app (and I know it's accurate) but it was denied. It's not convenient to have one child on a separate app. Not all texts that should be flagged, actually are. I have given feedback and reached out to customer service but nothing has changed. As soon as our contract is up, we will be switching.
Location tracking is a dismal. The tracking was great at first, but after having the app and phone for over a year, the location tracking is useless and totally unreliable. I set up the "safe zones" to get notifications of leavings and goings and sometimes I'd get notifications that my son left the house hours after he left and had returned. This is the main reason for getting the Gabb Phone so it is very disappointing. Consider other options if location tracking is a priority for you.
The latest version of the phone watch and the app have a connection issue. It doesn't update GPS info for a day sometimes even if we turn it off and on and factory reset it. Update in January 2026: After giving them feedback about GPS not working and acting up. They tried to communicate with me via text. I didn't need help though because the phone watch was updated and the GPS feature started working better. The refreshing button works better as well. Thank you very much for fixing it.
This has got to be the most unintuitive, unhelpful, frustrating user experience I've ever had. We bought these watches because of the constant marketing, but clearly they didn't hire competent engineers. Nothing works. The watches don't track properly, their battery life is only a couple hours, the website support doesn't work, and they lock you in a contract but don't warranty their watches for the duration. It's maddening!
GPS tracking rarely and inconsistently working - as delay between 15mins to 1day... Very frustrating. Customer Service has always been excellent (as I probably spent total of 40 hours in the past 4 years) but at the end of the day, if one of the main feature for this phone/app isnt working, it is not meeting my expectations. update: my first review I was not satisfied with GPS, but everything else about the phone was great! This is a safe phone and I'm grateful for those features. Customer service reached out to me Re: GPS issues we were having, and they were great. We worked on it for hours, It would seem to be fixed and then not work. This went on for a while, we ran out of options and they provided us with a new replacement phone. CS is great check in, still checking in! Best customer service!
Great customer service! I was having issues with the location not updating. After posting about it, they reached out to me in less than 24 hrs and helped me resolve the issue and credited one free month. We love having a watch for my son that allows us to check his location as well as being able to contact each other without giving him access to the internet. The location isn't real time but you can easily click refresh to see the current location. It's not perfect but it checks all our boxes.
1/7/26 Watch update does not show location. Not getting texts. 8/26/25 Still does not show location in real time. EDIT: Did factory reset per tech support. Still having issues! Since the update, nothing but problems. Overheats w/out doing anything. Turns off & on for no reason. GPS slow to track accurately. When it restarts, everything is gone. I've unpaired/re-paired and done hard reset. Very disappointed. Ridiculous. Should have gone with Bark.
I purchased the Gabb watch for my pre-teen for Christmas. Everything was working great for about a week and then the watch stopped being responsive to the app. Tasks, GPS, Focus Modes, and Contacts do not sync from the app to the device. I read a lot of positive reviews on the watch, but wish I would have read the reviews here on the app. Had I known about these problems I would have purchased a different device.
The app is simplistic. Not a lot of features but being able to tag safe locations is nice. But there is often a delay of 10 mins or more. Refreshing the location does not get an accurate update either. Now that they launched an update in early January I get no notifications at all. Says her watch is off when I know it is on and she is wearing it. Been down for a week now. Checked my app and phone and all is up to date and notifications are on but locations do not work.
after working with customer service, they could not fix the issue with phone, and sent a replacement phone that is working now. thanks for working with us to solve the issue. daughters phone service is terrible. consistently can not sent or receive text and calls. phone is in our house right now, but app has her 2 miles away. very unreliable.
Has some connectivity issues that can be challenging and frustrating at times, but once you get things linked correctly it works well and lets you communicate with the device effectively. We've had a few issues where contacts randomly can't get calls/messages through, but a factory reset has been able to resolve the issue. Customer support has been helpful and courteous, even with the more difficult fixes.
Location/Tracking/GPS on the Gabb 4 Pro literally hasn't worked properly for over a year now. App updates aren't fixing it, restarting the device doesn't fix it, nothing! I ultimately ended up having to get an smart tag/air tag to track where my child is. Also, the messenger is only showing me flagged messages every once in a while. I have to manually check for them because the app notifications are inconsistent. We've had this company for years for my child but now I'm starting to reconsider.
