Please improve the battery consumption of this app. After recent updates it is consuming 3000 mAh per day, 75% of my total battery consumption! I love the product and the app has been working well for main use cases, although small bugs have always been present but nothing too important. However, the battery consumption issue is rendering this app useless.
Mysa has a lot of promise - when I was shopping for smart thermostats for my PNW HVAC setup, they had some of the most comprehensive features. However, the whole experience is very bug-ridden: schedules fail to send commands, the app crashes when I try to pair, temperatures fail to set or don't seem to be accurate (unit blowing hot air when temp already above setpoint), etc. I've already invested quite a bit in these things but it's hard to recommend to others when there are so many issues.
Overall works as expected, but has a few annoyances. Loading and setting a temperature can be a bit slow, but neither are a big deal. Just make sure the loading animation ends before leaving a screen. Creating schedules needs an improvement. You can schedule a chosen temperature and time to be set on specific days, but once created you have to edit each of those days individually to change it. Otherwise, I've not had any of the issues mentioned in other reviews. It's honestly very convenient!
I've been using Mysa for years, and now the app crashed, and I can't get it open. Technical support is useless as it's asking me to do basic things such as uninstall/ reinstall, change password, and things I've already done BEFORE asking for help and now they've dropped the ball completely leaving me to replace my thermostats. I would NOT recommend this app because, or devices because once you have an issue, it's too hard to figure out. You're left in the dark by technical support.
1. The app is very slow to login (10+ seconds!) when it's opened, because it doesn't properly cache the AWS/Cognito login credentials. I know this because I've studied most of the protocol that it uses (search for Mysotherm on Github). 2. Version 4.x is very disappointing. It appears they've just changed the UI in a whole bunch of cosmetic ways (why??? 🤷🏻♂️) without adding ANY new functionality. At the same time, the usage graphs have become significantly less usable and hard to read.
The mysa platform and baseboard heater controls truly are amazing and have not only given me greater control but also saved me money and helped me understand the usage. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that there is no way to manage the device from a computer. A simple page allowing me to change the temperature and see the historigram would be perfect. Also there is no way to force a code update
On the plus side, it does what it's supposed to. Paring to my line-voltage thermostat was pretty straightforward, and the app controls the thermostat as expected. I don't understand how "vacation" mode is supposed to work - the setting for it doesn't seem to do anything. I also wish the app had dark mode (or respected it from the OS) - the all-white background can really be blinding.
Awesome app/system! The touch control on the device itself used to be a big laggy, but since a recent update, now it's really smooth. I'm super happy about it overall! The only thing I would like to be able to customize, is to set a range of when the heater should turn on, and up to what temperature it should be on. My mysa is just above the heater (don't have the choice) and turns on/off too frequently, which is a bit annoying when watching tv.
I love the thermostat system , and the ability to change the temperature even when I'm away from home. However, with the most recent update, my zones are showing in celcius, even though all of my thermostats are set to individually display as farenheit (which they still do). I tried deleting, re-adding thermostats, and recreating the zones, but no luck. I have a Google Pixel 2.

The app & thermostats worked great for a year. Then I swapped out our router & I had to reconnect the thermostats to the app. They couldn't connect. Wasn't having any issues with other devices so I reinstalled the app. Now nothing works. App crashes constantly. Never was able to reconnect thermostats to app. Now the heaters constantly turn on/off every 10seconds. Limited to zero control purely through thermostats alone.
Great product and wonderful support. I had a few issues getting it up and running but support response was immediate and fixed the issue. My only suggestion would be to allow limited schedule changes through the unit (say turn on vacation mode) just in case you lose wifi connectivity as you are going out the door. Your only option at that point would be to turn the unit off or hope it re-connects later. Another way to address this is to offer BT connectivity as a backup.
Inconsistent. When changing wifi settings, you have to re-link each Mysa unit (baseboard). It seems you a notice that is not connected anymore and gives you the option to fix the connection. After putting the unit in pairing mode, the app just doesn't work correctly (0/2... that's 0% success rate or 100% fail rate. Not good. Not acceptable.). It goes in a loop. You have to completely delete it from the app then add as a new device and HOPE it works (1/2 so far... that's a 50% fail rate).
Update: After contacting support and port forwarding the ports Mysa requires, the device was able to update the firmware and is working properly. I have not needed to port forward for any other smart device though, so that's not very user friendly. The basics work like they should, but energy graphs are useless. It only shows the setpoint, so I have no idea what the ambient temperature or energy history are. So much for being "smart," it should just be called wifi since it doesn't track usage.
For 2 or 3 weeks now (Jan 2025) I wasn't able to use the app on my phone, I only see a rotating circle. I can't access my home, or my thermostat, or install a new home, reinstalling the app doesn't help. Prior to this, I used Mysa for 4 or so years w/o any issues, on multiple phones. It looks like other users started to experience the same bug recently, please address it. I also rebooted the controller itself, but because the app is unusable I can't really add the controller or control it.
I'll start off by saying mysa is awesome, I love the product. The app is reliable and pretty easy to use. The scheduler feels a little clunky though. There is no global setting option for F vs C so every time you change the schedule you need to set that again. It would be nice to be able to just select days, times, and temps for the scheduler instead of having the questions. I really like the data it gives. Having an option to set surge pricing instead of a flat rate would be a nice feature
Update: Mysa reached out and after troubleshooting I was able to reinstall the app and resolve my issue, so updating to 4 stars. 3 days into an extended stay away from home the app has completely stopped working. It just spins and spins and never loads. So, it looks like I'll be heating my house even when vacant as I can't get into the app to reprogram. Super frustrating!
The app is well built and easy to use. however, when i go to refresh my thermostats (by pulling down from the top) it freezes and spins to the point that i have to close rbw app and reopen it. Also, if i go out of the app, and back in i cannot get into any of the thermostats from rhe hole screen and i have to close the app and reopen it. please look into these issues.
This app worked great on every phone I've had until I got my new S22 Ultra. Crashes every time it tries to open. I need this to work on my S22 Ultra... Please fix ASAP! Update: as others have mentioned Mysa reached out to me and asked me to clear the app cache and data which I did and now the app works great again. Thank you for the quick response and the assistance!!!
my mysa changed itself to Celsius the other day, so I tried installing this app to change it back, only to find out AFTER setting up an account and connecting to the device via Bluetooth, that I couldn't actually finish setting it up or use the app without wifi. I have data I pay for, I'm not paying extra for wifi just to change the temp of my room on an obviously glitchy device, that just does things on it's own. it's a hazard.
Last month I installed three thermostats in three different rooms. Installation was easy, setup was easy, establishing connection and communication was easy. Ended up changing my router password right after the install. Reconnection for all three thermostats was easy. It would be nice if I could control the units from my PC like you can with an ecobee. And I am dying to see what the energy reporting is like. Still waiting for that.
