MySOS

App installed fine. I enter the information to register, and I get a screen that looks like a Check-In for Quarantine. I cannot get to any screen that allows me to enter my passport photo or proof of vaccination. I've uninstalled this twice, updated the app, and nothing works. I'm all for preregistration to shorten my entry into Japan, but I've been working on installing this app, but with 2 hours total spent trying, it sort of defeats the purpose.

If I had an option, I would give this app zero rating. No phone ring sound so unless you are staring the phone 24/7, there is no way you can pick up the phone call from MySOS. I have all notifications turned on with sound all the way up but no sounds go off. Also even if you were able to pickup the call, app freezes and no options to call right back. I would preferred to use other means for communications such as whatsup, Skype, LINE, etc.

No explanation. This apps should clearly tell us that we MUST set up country "Japan" first. Otherwise you'll stuck in the other page which you can't submit any of documents. Then if you're stuck in it, you'll be in trouble when you check in because your My SOS is red color. Who the hell told me the background will be blue once all the documents are accepted, not even a picture on apps explanation. I lost last minute good bye to my friend because of this.

The app doesn't seem to have a sound or vibration alert even though you have already enable ringer/vibration feature (device). Just an alert message - you basically have to keep your eyes on the phone at all times. I missed two alerts yesterday without even knowing it. I kept my phone next to my computer while working all day - didn't even know about the two alerts that I missed.

The worst app I have ever used! During my first attempts to input data it decided that I was flight crew - even though I had not selected that. There was no way to remove this so I had to delete everything. Not the only thing that went wrong by any means. Unhelpful elp messages. When you try to upload a pdf why doesn't it just say what types of files it does accept? Why does a seat number have to be entered in two parts? Why does a trailing blank seem to cause problems? Wrong quarantine dates...

This is the most appalling app that I have encountered. I have tried to get verified for three weeks or so with dozens of attempts. I repeatedly get a message saying 'an unexpected error has occurred. . . Try again in a few minutes.' Perhaps what annoys me most is 'How can the error be unexpected when it has happened a few dozen times?' I flying tomorrow and despairing

This is by far the worst experience I have had with an app. No matter what I do, what permission I give it, it still does not give me any calls or notifications. I gave the app access to everything and I keep it running in the background but nothing helps. Sometimes after I shut it down and open it several time I get a notification that says a call would be made shortly HOURS later. Seriosuly the worst. People can be labeled criminals and face deportation just because of this apps malfunction.

Video call is unreliable. You'll get a notification that there will be a call soon but often the actual call does not come. Other problem is when you report you location, using "I'm here" button. First time when you click the button, app often fails to get high precision location and blames the user that they have broke quarantine protocol. This is probably combination of software bug and poor message translation.

Not too sure if there were already app updates from previous version or not since my location and checking in experience were fine. It randomly calls me once or twice a day. Asks me to report my daily condition and location check-in once a day. It does NOT ring, only vibrates. None of those silent or low battery or airplane mode were on. I know it's a show piece to prove to the locals that the JP gov is actually doing something, at least make it work properly. I counted three missed calls alrdy.

Failing to upload passport. Tried 20+ times, different formats and sizes, always clear picture. Unistalled twice, changed language to Japanese. Still not working. Terrible app which does not even fulfill its basic purpose. So many reviews from others having same issues, reporting this throughout months. Not fixed though. 0 stars.

Check the app's notification settings! Initial notification settings were not set correctly and notifications for "Phone Call" were set to silent (won't ring even if device is set to ring). Also, there are multiple "Phone Call" notification entries, and the difference between them are unknown. I had to activate sound, vibrate, and override DND for all. Development of this app was obviously rushed and is not maintained. I expect better when my tax money is being used. Please revisit development.

The app says enter name on the app, then links external website that says enter middle name. No consistency. The app also links to external websites, what's the point of the app?? May as well provide the facility to do fast track stuff online rather than struggling on the phone. I uninstalled the app to start again but now it keeps starting off at the main menu. Why isn't fast track option available on the main menu???. This app is terribly designed.

Literally everytime I am called I miss it because I'm hardly on my phone and this app has no notification sounds. There is zero way to call back thus you can get in trouble for missing calls. I usually just hit the check in button however if I miss it. I read online that people will come to your house to check in on you themselves if you go a certain # of days without answering a phone call so now my eyes are glued to my phone to make sure I can answer and not be deported. App is trash Japan.

It works I suppose but the UI can be vague or misleading. It asked for your required country, and offers a whole list, but the only usable answer is Japan, and why would you even have this app if you weren't going to Japan? Error messages are vague too. I kept getting an email address error when it seemed the issue was I'd uploaded the wrong document.

Horrible app. It doesn't ring, doesn't give any notifications even though I set the permissions and ringtones properly. There's no way you can answer their calls, unless your eyes glued to the phone 24/7. We have the risk of being deported for unable to answer calls that caused by the uselessness of this app, even though we obey the quarantine rules. Honestly, this app doesn't deserve to get any star at all.

It's funny... They say it's important you don't miss the calls, but this app notification only vibrate and have NO SOUND. How is it possible that after months of people asking for a notification sound you still can't add it... ridiculous. EDIT : I DO receive notification, but they have NO SOUND and just vibrate even with FULL SOUND ON.

It doesn't ring sometimes and error occurs pretty frequently. It gave me the notification about a video call incoming but it didn't happen at all. The people at the customer centre don't know what is going on and blamed me when I asked about an error. They don't even share the information. I'm so embarrassed and sorry that everyone entered Japan should use this scam app. If there was a choice I'd pick -500 stars for this garbage. Awful. Shame on whoever made this app obligatory.

Horrible. Tried multiple times to upload passport shots but to no avail. Wouldn't accept it. Questionnaire was worse. After completion and back to the home screen - still asks me to complete. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times plus cache cleared but no change. I've given up on this piece of rubbish and will gladly stand in line for hours at quarantine rather than deal with this.

This app is disfunctioning. When they screening. They never finish. Reson why frozing screen process in main program in Japan has frozing screen. Then they knew issue but they don't tell you uninstall entire app from your telephone. Instead skip it. That's wrong. Does not work. I made more than 10 time attempts. But did not work. Finally travel agency personal told me. Then , I did uninstalled MYSOS. Then reinstall MYSOS. it's work. Shame on Japanese Gov.

Simple app that does what it's supposed to do. Haven't had any bugs so far. I wish there were more options regarding the notification sounds though. I use an app called "I can't wake up" and it has options to increase the volume above 100% which is useful for heavy sleepers like myself. Also, if there was a schedule of ranges for contact/check-in times, that would be useful as well.
