Many 'store' credit cards are held and serviced by Synchrony. The app is okay; nothing special to note. The problem with Synchrony is that they will change your credit limit based on your carried balance (many stores offer '6 mo. same as cash' or 24 mo. with no interest'). This triggers the bank to lower your available credit because you carry a balance. Also, if you go several months to a year without using the account, Synchrony will CLOSE it without notice! I've had this happen more than once
Edit: I haven't been able to get into this app now for a week. It keeps saying it can't process my login request. App works half the time. Can't seem to sign frequently enough that it gets annoying trying to manage anything. Unrelated to the app, their customer service is clueless. I had to call three times to add my spouse to my account. They kept telling me he was on there, yet he never got a card for over a month.
It was easy to access my Synchrony credit card through the original Synchrony app before. Now I've been forced to switch to this app which clearly wasn't properly developed before discontinuing access in the original app. I've had to set up my account three different times now because the developers can't decide how they want the app to work. The validation and verification only works about half of the time, so even when it is functioning it takes a while just to access my account.
I never leave reviews but this deserves it. The app is absolute trash. Since they swapped to the new app I haven't been able to login. Keeps stating there's a problem with my account or that my account cannot be found. Yet using the same login I can get to it on my computer. I've even called Synchrony to see what's wrong with my account and they say nothing is wrong with it.
I uninstalled the app. Actually, this was the second go around and nothing was any better. Tried setting it up online with my laptop. Same result. won't connect and tells me to try again later. Fortunately, it's linked with my Amazon account so I can gain access through the "back door". I can only find out what the current balance is and payment due date. Doesn't list pending charges. But I can figure that out by checking my order history. Mobile app, however, is unuseable.
personal experience has not been good including use of the app. they're very quick to kick any store cards and discontinue your account, even if you have never missed a payment and have remained in good standing they'll just cancel it for no reason in my experience. I would highly recommend just use a different service, it will save you a lot of frustration. If company responds to my review do not waste your hot air, I don't feel like reading the BS. My payments have increased from $80 to $95, and now they’re $115 with no clear explanation. When I tried to get help, I found out there’s no real customer support. The Help Center only lets you browse articles there’s no option to actually contact a person. If you have an issue, you’re stuck submitting feedback and hoping someone eventually responds. The app also won’t allow you to add a debit or credit card. You’re forced to link a bank account instead, which isn’t convenient for everyone. On
SOOOOOO USELESS😡😡😡😡😡 when you add a new credit card you have to reset username, and password everytime and it always gives you errors when doing so. then when you call customer service they ask you for credit card number, there is no option in app to see full number just last 4. waste of time because the rep has to look it up. and if you open statements account number is *** and 4 numbers that don't even match the credit card number. so much to improve on efficiency to customers
The app won't let me sign in. My username and password both work when in a browser, but the app just tells me something to the effect of, "Your username and password don't match our records. Please try again." I am still able to pay my card through a browser, but it is quite annoying knowing my credentials work, just not in the app. What is weird is it worked previously, but I am unsure what caused it to stop. The app itself is fine. About what you'd expect from a credit card app.
This app is not user friendly, in fact it's the opposite. My banking information was accurate but when I made the payment it would be rejected 2 days later after showing me a zero balance. Easy way for Synchrony to collect late fees and interest. Then Synchrony closed my account due to "too many errors with attempted payments" I have a credit score in the high 800s, but I will NEVER use Synchrony in the future. AVOID AT ALL COST
trying to pay my bill and wont let me log in keeps telling me( We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to access your account. Please try again later.) bet its just a scam so they can charge late payments and or interest and yes i have tryd logging in on multiple devices and browsers. I would not bother with them if you can help it
New login is pointless in the app: It keeps asking if it should remember the device, but never does. Moreover, it uses two-factor authentication on a mobile app which means if someone else had my phone and tried to login, they would receive the link to access my account on the device they have in their possession and therefore still be able to access the account. Just a waste of time for the real user to have to jump through extra security hoops.
It was an ok app for managing payments in one spot. However with the current failure of even being able to login to the app is just ridiculous. It's been several weeks of not being able to get in. with the amount of complaints on the matter, it seems like enough time to sort the issue. I've had to pay my cards through each vendor. a nuisance but do-able. I'll likely delete this app since it's broken anyhow.
It works but not without being annoying first. Requires turning off your VPN (for a financial app? really?) Makes you login twice for "new login experience" but then doesn't show all accounts. Support is unhelpful and will stick automated bots in your way, lie about app support, and groan until you get off the phone. But you can fix it yourself by logging in via account number (per account), instead of by username/password. Avoid Synchrony if you can.
One of the worst apps. Not user friendly, have had to call to get back into to my account (because the system doesn't recognize me). Kicks me out of the app after not using within 20 days, I make one payment a month, every 28 to 30 days, but kicks me out to where I have to resign in and again (doesn't recognize me). Then have had to call to get it fixed. Wastes my time. Make the app better. It's always been terrible. Fix it.
Basically unusable. Each time I have to login through my web browser instead of the app handling the security info -- basically means your info is going to 2 places on the internet, making it easier for your info to get stolen. I also had severe difficulty just making a simple payment of $27 when I used a non synchrony bank account electronically. The only reason you ever use this app is because you are forced to do so.
It works to an extent, definitely no frills. It's easy enough to make payments. However.... There is no way to search transactions. That's one of the most basic, minor features for a financial institution-but nope, no search function to be found. Highly, highly irritating.
The app was working fine until recently. I use biometric login to access my two synchrony accounts, Sam's Club and America's Tire. Now it says "We're sorry can't locate your account right now" and goes back to sign in. It continues this till I press cancel and then brings up a manual sign in. Once I put my username and password then it opens the app to manage the cards. Hope they are working on a fix because it appears I'm not the only one this is happening to!
Works OK... When it works!! This app crashes way too often. For over a week it says it cannot complete my request at this time, try again later! But later never comes! It's hard enough to access my two credit cards through synchrony, I cannot even access them on their website. Fix it!!
No customer service available from any of my attempts. Ive called the service number many times to no avail, even the automated service is completley flawed; glitches in automated messages & hanging up after asking for the card #.... Let alone this is after ive been using the app for a few months, making payments through the 'HOME' branch of "synchrony bank". The app went through an update that logged my account out. Since this update I have attempted over 50 times to log back into my account.
