News4JAX - WJXT Channel 4

I don't see the 300% faster speed, and sometimes the system crashes and won't load at all. The weather map is awful, 70% of the time, the radar won't load. I can see and hear rain outside and the radar shows clear. (*I do like the layers and was shocked at the number of recorded earthquakes in the lower 48, that one never hears about.) I do use the Hurricane app and choose local radar and the correct weather shows, with street level detail over the entire world!

So far this app is really stinking for me. It freezes up or stops working altogether after about 3 minutes on the app and it is very aggravating. I would not have taken my time to rate this if it wasn't so unfortunetly. I will be downloading a different news channel and pray that I do not have the same issues. Good luck everyone. This app is STILL having horrible issues!! It's very frustrating. I would say you are better off with Action News. I was truly hoping that they would fix this app😢

The app used to be fine. Not the most up-to-date coverage and an odd layout with often poorly-written articles, but good enough. The September 2024 update has added a lack of privacy to its users, forcing us to agree to tracking cookies and added pop up video ads. To me, it is no longer a decent option for news coverage. I've deleted the app and will not be using it again.

What is wrong with your app developers!? I uninstalled a couple months ago and decided to give you one more try...waste of time. Now it locks my phone up and I have to do a hard restart just to use the phone again. So sad considering its the best local news has to offer. Guess I will skip local news indefinitely. FIX THE BUGS THAT LOCK IT UP PLEASE.!!

So many notifications, I had breaking news and traffic set up as the only notifications I wanted. Apparently sports and news from Georgia are breaking news. Also I have yet to see anything traffic come through. I get around 30 notifications a day with only 2 of the options selected. I can't imagine picking all of them, my phone would probably explode.

i love the layout & information on this app...BUT...it shuts itself down at least once, sometimes more, nearly every time I open it. I have reported it numerous times & even took it off my phone & reloaded it about a week ago but it still keeps shutting down & according to the bars on my phone it's not an internet connection issue. Please fix this issue!!! I will gladly change the rating to a 5 once this is fixed 🙂

Ok the app was doing great but last few days all I am getting is a repeat of the weekend news sometimes and other times I am getting a black screen with a rotating circle like it's buffering. I don't have tv or cable so I rely on this app on my phone for local news and weather but the live portion seems to have stopped working. Please fix!!

Why do they play the same commercial over and over again?Very buggy. Did you use monkeys to code this clunky piece. The volume for commercials is so loud. The volume has caused issues with my neighbor. I'm sure this is intentional, but it's to extremely loud for commercial breaks. So I am trying other apps. Imagine how many other users are doing the same?

Love this app hands done. As it alerts me what is going on in my city in real time. The weather conditions are always informs what kind of day it will be. My boyfriend even uses the app when he goes fishing as it provides him with the time there is high or low tide, the current conditions of the sea. But I wish the ads did not play when you are trying to watch the live news on the app but it is a good app to have. The meterologist always provide hourly updates on current weather conditions.

why is your streaming not working? I click on anything to watch that had been previously played and all it does is continuously load. It might show 30 seconds then goes back to loading. I like channel 4 but I guess I will start watching another channel. I have checked the update and removed app and reloaded. Still the same

Do not install. Read all of the data that this app is telling you they will collect. For a news app, why do they need to collect geolocation, name, birthday, contact info, and other info too lengthy to type here? And they may or may not sell your info to 3rd party even if you opt out? It's a news app!

I am not sure of the quality control on fixes but bugs are worse. Good notification pushes but notifications do not take you to story / article. App flashed "loading" for 30 - 60 seconds and never loaded. App still wants to direct you to current video rather than related article. Yet again, disabling notifications from this app and using other local and national services.

As of 12/10/19 - the app remains stuck on news from November. I've reinstalled several times and I'm still seeing the boy who who had his birthday saved by firefighters. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!! App is terrible since the last update. Keep telling me the content is unavailable. Deleted and reinstalled app and now I can see only old news information. Please fix ASAP!!!

Buffering, buffering and more buffering. The text of the articles takes forever to load, even though the rest of the page and all of the ads have loaded. You just sit there staring at this spinning circle. When it does finally load, the local news coverage is good but the political coverage is extremely left wing.

I like to watch the live news feed on the app in the morning. The reason for 4 stars is every time they go to commercial break I get kicked off and have to go back in and click on the link all over again to watch. I end up having to do that over and over during the approx 45 minutes I watch each morning

I had to delete the app several times and reinstall it. every time I play the video for live TV it logs me out and says error then it wants me to leave a feedback. I have other news stations here in Jacksonville that I don't have a problem with only this one. This is the one I usually watch so it kind of stinks that I have to go somewhere else to find my local news.

Great coverage of local and national news stories. Likeable news and weather personalities. My only concern is that the app stops working from time to time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app a few times hoping that would help. Otherwise, no complaints from me.

Recently I have had my phone taken over by ads that go full screen and I have to hunt and search for the x to get rid of it with blasting audio as I'm trying to read your News article. if this is going to be the case I'm uninstalling. GOOD BYE!

Decent app. I love being able to keep up with local and global news anywhere I go. My only complaints are the few glitches that frequently occur (e.g. every link will lead to the same article on occasion regardless of which article is clicked, notification links fail, etc.).

Recently downgraded the recommendation to two stars because the app won't stay open. If they fix that, I'll move it back to three stars.. I should have updated this many months ago, app is operating awesome now. thank you. Continues to work well. there are occasional delays, but I'm sure their server is working overtime.
