NOAA Weather Unofficial

More accurate than most, Radar data seems updated often enough. I've used it to drive between two converging severe storms on more than one occasion. Update 2-26-2026 NOAA continues to be my go to App for weather since my initial review in 2019. Snow and adverse weather is even more accurate as global climate continues to change. The look of the App is continues to keep up to date with other apps as well. Keep up the great work!

Data Graphs are great! Radar good and improved. Still great after several years. I like being able to call up forecasts and current conditions for specific locations. That feature is great for long and medium distance travel planning. I hope the Government doesn't torpedo the NOAA. There's nothing else out there like this presentation for detailed data.

Fantastic app. easy to use and extremely detailed information. I just wish they didn't have to share my data for advertising, they already have ads in the app but I'm not sure if the contracts required data sharing. if so that's messed up. other than that though, I love this app. blows the native Android weather apps out of the water

While this app has been mostly a positive experience, it has suddenly gotten into the habit of reporting the temperature as being 0 degrees, and nothing seems to change it. If this is a problem on the part of my closest weather station, it should have at least some method of mitigation on the app's part; if not, then it is a fatal flaw in the app.

NOAA has all the bells and whistles I need. I need 24 to 48 hours can have realistic accuracy, but paying a ton of money elsewhere for ridiculous 10 day forecasts...... I'll be polite... there will never be "accurate" 10 day forecasts, so paying extra for that is a waste. ......paying more for better graphics or notifications. That's up to the buyer. All in all, I really like NOAA. 👍

This seemed awesome with great information at first. However, the hourly forecast and radar never load anymore. So I get a general forecast, but I can no longer get the more detailed information to know how to prepare for a day out hiking, cycling, or other outdoor activities. The free version only allows 3 different locations, but there doesn't seem to be a way to delete previously viewed locations to change which 3 locations can be viewed at a given time, which sucks if you travel a lot.

I'm really happy to be able to choose the weather station myself. The one that other apps chose for my home location are at a substantially lower altitude. It makes a HUGE difference! This app also has the readings that I like to have. Wind speed, direction, pressure, etc. are easy to access. Thanks to the developers! The one major drawback is that the data is US only. I flighttrack aircraft worldwide so local info isn't what I'm always looking for.

Good app. Shows lots of details in a simple, easy to read way. Configurable graphs to show as much/little info about the weather on an hour to hour basis. The radar map is very helpful. Definitely the most consistent, easy to interpret one I've used. Wish it showed dawn/sunrise sunset/dusk times for the day, and I dislike that you can't look at the weather for another location without saving it as one and the app only allows you to save three unless you pay for premium. Otherwise great.

I love that I can choose which elements on the graph I see. It is visually simple. Nothing to study or decipher. One glance at the graph in the hourly report is usually all I need. Sunrise and sunset times are there with a click on "current weather" at the top of the extended report. The radar map shows if there is a clearing in the storm I can use for a quick outside chore or errand. It's just all there. I have tried other more highly ranked sites, but lasted less than a minute, too cluttered.

I've had a couple of glitches. If I can get those straight and find the picture maps, I'll rate it 5 stars Follow-up, 5 yrs later. I've really enjoyed this particular weather app. I managed to figure out some of the features and have found it easy to check my wx for the day, hour, week, etc. .... until the past few wks. For some reason it says it can't download now, but still doesn't function later, either. Working at the moment, hope that continues.

The accuracy is awesome, it simply cannot be matched by any other source. I use the line graph all the time for hourly forecasts, but it could be improved with more detail like precip amounts, and wind direction flags like the desktop app. The radar is lacking and could be improved a lot. App stopped working about a week ago. Cannot download forecast. This would happen occasionally in the past, but has been consistent now for the past week. I used to like the app as the ads were less obtrusive than other weather apps, but if it no longer works, I guess the only option is to delete it. Working normally again now. Can't seem to manage my updates anymore with Android. Every time something updates automatically, something stops working until it gets fixed with the next update.

Reluctantly dropped it from 5 to 3 stars. It's shortcomings have little to do with the developer as far as I can tell. I love the layout, and there's an enormous amount of info available. The app itself is great. Everything you need, easy to use snd fairly reliable. NOAA seems to have cancelled all the weather stations near my area, though, and that unfortunately impacts practical usability when I can't see conditions closer to home than 30 miles away.

Still the best weather app I have used in regards to information I need at a quick look. Does seem to be glitchy at times especially when I need it the most, when weather is the worst! During this time it comes up with error messages when I try to get the weather to download so I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. And it's not my reception because the other weather apps come through just fine, but they are not as thorough or as accurate.

Always seems to be accurate, I live at 9200 in the eastern slope of the Colorado Rockies, so having accurate weather info is critical. Even a short drive somewhere (like 20 miles) the weather can change drastically, so having the ability to change to multiple locations, I can stay on top of what to expect. I also like selecting what data I see, like temp, precipitation and wind speed I don't get caught off guard. Thanks for a great free app

I have used it for years for scheduling workmen outdoors. It has excellent graphic representations that project % of humidity , temperature, rainfall in inches per hour, snow in inches per hour, and a bunch of other weather variables that you can easily configure and see as much or little as you want on one graph for about a ten day period. The graphic presentation is superior to any other weather forecast I have ever seen. And it is very reliable! You can also use it for different locations

One of the best weather apps I've found, two improvements would make it perfect. 1) some weather conditions don't show an icon, such as light snow, mist, or haze... I've noticed a couple others that don't show but can't remember what they are. 2) widgets don't automatically load after restarting my phone, I have to tap the refresh button on a widget then tap on the widget. Once the forecast loads I can close the app and all of the widgets will update correctly.

Been using for years, my go to app for weather info. Graphic display is easy to follow, summarizes well. It's well designed and flexible. It is a shell for the NOAA weather forecasts which I find pretty accurate and easy access to the weather discussion lets me get a feel for the nuances of the forecast in a way that isn't available with any other weather tool. Very nice app, well done!

Best Weather app if you can read graphs. Official NOAA data updated 4 times a day. Daily icons list or.. Full week forecast hourly division graph showing wind speed, temperature, and precipitation chance. Very low data usage (mostly the small ad banner). No logins, no permissions or location mandated. Safe. Great! Edit: I use a separate app to call current radar images. Don't want that (wasted) data loading when I want a forecast! Two different things to me! Thanks.

Easy to use, ads are not intrusive, quick and as accurate as any.. other forecasters get all their info from NOAA anyway. It's also easy to check weather in other locations. There are obvious hazardous weather alerts at the top when needed. I do wish there was a guide to the colors on the map. But overall, it's the best. I'm a loyal user of this app for at least 5 years.
