😡I found the original app easy to use and effective... but so-called 'improvements' in upgrades made it more complicated. I don't mind ads... so I'm very disappointed that you went to subscription only. I'm retired & living on Social Security, so I have little discretionary income for app subscriptions. Plus, there are other Cleaner apps to choose from... and using one, though useful, really isn't that vital.

I'm using version 1.5.1.34. That version is a 5 star app. if you upgrade past that version the app wants permissions I find unacceptable. It will run every time you start the phone. On some Android platformers you cannot force it closed. I believe I will decide what apps run on my phone and when. The version I am using is perfect just the way it is. All of the versions will get the job done. I don't need another app clogging memory that I need for other apps.

Have been using it a few months on this phone. Does a great job cleaning residual and junk files. Doesn't always get all the cache and if you skip a day it does to revert back to "day 1" on your report card which I suppose doesn't effect the overall performance . I trust the brand and don't see any evidence of data mining nor does it have any ads or intrusive notifications. Easy and fast. It does its job and goes away like a well behaved helper.

Introducing a mandatory paywall without prior notice or an optional ad-based, free option is a cheap move. So many of us have trusted Norton for decades; this marks a new low for the Norton customer experience. They'll tell you there's now "4x the functionality", but we have no way to know unless we pay. What is the added functionality, exactly? In which points is it superior? I've seen nothing to support added value, and everything to support price-gouging. Uninstalling, unfortunately.

i upgraded and purchased the yearly subscription. Google play hit my bank account for the 8.99 plus tax cost. but, everytime I open the app, it wants me to buy the subscription again, but can't connect to the server and it sits there and spins. how can a company release a new and improved app that doesn't work! VERY UNHAPPY WITH BOTH NORTON.

Cleaner was working very well. within past 2 days Cleaner is not working. Keep getting 'failed' and 'unexplained error' messages. Tried all troubleshoot recommendations with no improvement. What does appear is a message for 'Free Update' costing $100.00. I have been a satisfied Norton user for many years, but with all the Free Update fees costing hundreds of dollars is quite disappointing. Please be more transparent with billing and cost of services to avoid losing long standing customers.

10/23/19. The app is not noticing the volume of junk as it should in comparison to another app. 6-18-18. Does not overheat device. Informs when you have excess junk. Does not have intrusive ads. Its free. Basic but works. As I have found other cleaners (that had more stuff), those ended up having intrusive ads, overheating devices, and some used their own fake ads to scare you saying you had a virus so they could get more customers. Pls place the cleaner in the main mobile security app.

Used to work fine. Then it started taking 3 times longer to scan for junk. Been this way for over a month or two. And now today it will find junk, it selected to be removed, but the removal button (orange) no longer appears. When the slowness and this bug gets fixed I'll consider potentially reinstalling. Very glad I didn't pay any money for this.

Junk. Don't waste your money. App doesn't work. Won't clean the hidden cache and freezes up phones & tablets for twenty minutes rendering it useless until "cleaning" is done. Paid for a year via Utilities Ultimate & this was included. No support. Norton should be investigated for fraud. Won't be renewing & time to analyze if I should be keeping my other Norton Products. I have been a customer for over 15 years. Slow waste of time for anyone who would dare to use this app. Read all reviews.

I am not happy with the "upgrade" being put behind an additional subscription fee. Norton is slowly no longer covering your devices without additional fees. I will need to find a new provider for my renewal because my laptop requires an additional fee for "enhanced performance" and now the simple cleanup app also required a "fee". What am I even paying for anymore?!?!?!

Got this to help free up space on my phone. It seemed to work for a while. Eventually I still kept getting storage full messages. When I looked into it, this app was using over 3.2Gb of precious internal, non-expandable storage. It also seemed to be using a fair amount of data. I don't know what this simple cleaning app was doing that required gigabytes of storage, or hundreds of megabytes of data, but I don't want it on my phone.

Blew my mind I'm not sure what happened, it was so fast. My Moto G5 Plus (Android 8.1) has been getting stickier and slower. For a month or so, internal storage has been creeping up on 90% full. I'm dubious of cleaning apps. The first one tried was as expected: didn't make much difference, wanted me to delete everything. Then came Norton Clean. In less than a minute, it ferreted out & wiped from existence enough "stuff" (??) that my storage is 62% full. EDIT: much less effective later on.

EDIT: I put this app on my new phone and no matter how many times I run it, there's still 3.4kb junk that isn't removed. I have checked to make sure all boxes are ticked. Never had THAT problem on my old phone. My only complaint is that it doesn't get rid of all the junk at once. If there's a way, I haven't found it. I usually have to run it 3 times before all is cleaned.

Doesn't let you see tha actual files it thinks are "junk" so you can verify that they aren't something you want to keep - like your Google Maps "Offline Maps" data downloads. Do-oh! The list of "Junk Files" needs to be expandable (by app) to show the actual files to be deleted. Then let us turn OFF deletion of individual files within a given app. Many other cleaning apps do this, you should, too.

This app shows the files it has listed as junk files and for whatever reason, decided to delete my Documents folder, which was not included in the visual list of junk files. Fortunately I have most of the documents it deleted backed up but the point is, it did not ask to delete this directory, it just decided to do so. This app is now gone and WILL NOT be downloaded again. Update...I now noticed all my ringtones are gone as well. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT install this app!!

The older version was way more transparent about what was being scanned and deleted, & I really miss the percentage feature that let you know what percentage of your storage was being used. I hate this update. It feels like it was rewritten to be more geared toward tech people instead of the average human. UPDATE: And now it's no longer free, so I'm out.

Easy to use; what you see is what you get. Thanks for making a great security app, Norton and for the 30 day Premium (free) trial! This app is packed with features without being so complex as to overwhelm the user. Very "user friendly" interface. A bit of advice: check the settings after installing for not all of the settings you may want to use are checked by default.

Unbelievably simple. Easy to use use, but it never seems to find any more than a few megabytes to clean up, and they'll often come back. I've jus started using the software, so I'm gonna gonna let some files build up and see how it does in a week or so. Love Norton's products overall, though. Great sweet of tools at one's disposal for security and maintenance. ✌️

This is a strange app. I'm not sure why a company as experienced as Norton can't design their mobile and desktop apps to work in the same way. The desktop utilities app is seamless and instant. The android version causes your phone to have a kind of epileptic attack and starts rapidly flashing through a bunch of screens. When finished, it says you still need to clean your device but you tap on what needs to be cleaned and nothing happens. I'm not even sure what was cleaned. Very unprofessional.
