SUPER charming! Incredibly simple pick-up-and-play deck-building card game with easy-to-learn rules. Leveling cards increases your player level for new cards/resources. Levelling lots of cards of the same type also levels up the associated Pro, granting new abilities. Occasionally, it feels like NPCs have the perfect card/hand for countering your best plays, which can make it feel unfair. Great game to kill small amounts of time with matches that usually wrap up quickly. Sleeper hit for sure.
Game style, strategy, and unique concept make it stand out at first but the combat soon becomes frustrating. The rules are relatively easy to pick up after a few games, and there are a myriad of play styles, but far too much of the combat relys on luck. You cannot consistently win without strategy, but games can be devastatingly lost if drawing the short end of the stick. Alough there is some strategy built into the percentage system, all it takes is for the game to roll a low number to lose.
Very fun, original game. There's lots of ways to build a deck, the board makes placement and thinking ahead important, and there's enough randomness to force you to adapt... without being too random to be strategic. Also, there's absolutely nothing whatsoever exploitative with their cash model... it's pretty much just skins. You advance by playing, period, as it should be... but depressingly rarely is in mobile gaming.
Fun game with a unique battle mechanic. Easy to play, but requires thought and strategy to build a good deck and use it well. Not pay to win: I'm steadily unlocking new cards for free. You can even get free skins if you save up the challenge rewards. There aren't even any ads, which is very unusual for a free game of this quality! My only complaint is slow load times and a laggy deck editor, but that might just be my phone. The developers seem to be active, so I'm excited to see what comes next!
I'm in love with this game right now! I usually suck at deck building games because I find them overwhelming but this games unique style makes buding and playing decks so much easier and more fun! And the fact that there's no pay to win??? I've been playing it non stop for the past few days and have one major complaint: the rate at which you accumulate nova juice is way too slow! I can't keep up with the cards I'm unlocking! I'm stuck with decks that aren't letting me progress and it's !!!
The game has simple mechanics with fun art and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the progression system means I can't recommend it. It looked promising but the system does have P2W mechanics. Winning at PvP is the only way to get the currency to unlock new cards, meaning if you get to a point where you're losing a lot, you also aren't getting what you need to unlock better abilities and get funneled into the cash shop. There also aren't rewards for alternate game modes, hope you like PvP...
This game is great and extremely underrated. The art is cute. It's a very innovative card system thats not similar to any other games on the market as far as I'm aware. The music is AMAZING which I don't say often. Every pro character has their own theme that plays during matches and all of them are a bop. The progression is a little weird but it's not too complicated. Just be ready for a little grind and you're alright. Zero ads once so ever. Only monetization is skins and progress boosts.
Really great game with character designs and concept. However, the tutorial doesn't teach you anything about anything other than mezza and lobby and not the other two. It also doesn't teach you at all how turns work. Sometimes I'm confused to see the opponent has a million turns while I only have one. It's not easy for everyone. A lot of battles are RNG based because you don't get enough hands. Also, Camilla is broken. Her RNG upgrading is straight up unfair and fundamentally flawed.
the core gameplay is fun, but you spend more time watching animations and getting bounced between menus than actual gameplay. I don't like games that automatically switch the menu I'm in and this one does it constantly. Half the powerups result in a 5 second pop-up on screen that you can't skip, even though you've seen it fifty times. Without the nonstop distractions it'd be a fun game
The polish on this game is incredible, it looks absolutely great and that alone is a rarity on the mobile game scene. However the game itself is bogged down by its horrible rng. It's possible to simply never get any energy. I had a game where I have 7 minions on the top layer of the board and didnt get energy for 4 turns making a come back impossible. The win condition is entirely random which is the problem.
The game play is lovely and unique, my only criticisms are that it takes too long to get cards and that some of the puzzles feel very luck based
Nova Island is a very fun Marvel Snap-like. You collect cards that fall into different categories and have synergies within those categories. There are no ads, and the microtransactions are limited to cosmetics. The grind is about the same as Marvel Snap, with you getting research points every time you level up a card, which then progresses you through the research tree unlocking new cards with every level. There's plenty of solo content too, if you prefer playing alone. Definitely recommend!
Fun game! No ads, beautiful art, simple to learn but hard to master strategy. Almost perfect. My biggest problem is the game staggers after a few minutes of gameplay. It also heats up my phone. Also matching time takes a bit longer the higher you climb the rank ladder. Probably because less player on top? Also it would be fun to get more ways to earn nova pts to unlock more stuff a bit faster, or maybe at least increase the rewards for higher rank, hehe. Once i hit hi rank, it becomes a crawl.
Its really unenjoyable to play. For those who didn't play yet, you can unlock cards by encountering new cards when fighting enemy. Yes, that means that in the lower ranks, you will be facing a lot of unknown cards in the middle of the battle and you barely have time to understand each of them. So most of the time you would not even bother to read them one by one, then proceed to get bashed by the enemy's continuous new cards.
The premise is fun I have no doubt about that, but I'm not willing to put in 30+ hours to stop playing against just bots. The variety when you start out is lacking, I'd love to choose one of three characters/ decks instead of being shoehorned into a progression track and one deck. The loop isn't smooth either in my opinion. Playing matches and getting almost nothing from it is unfulfilling. So overall, to me, it's not worth the early game bot grind to see if it's even decent late game.
Hmmmmm, where to begin? Well, first off, the gameplay is pretty fun. However, getting new cards a new deck is so hard and tedious that it takes so long to get something new, which makes the game stale. Additionally, the amount of bots is boring, and when you do fight against someone, they obviously paid money to get all the good cards, which you can never get, really, so that's not even fun.
This game has been, in my opinion, unfairly maligned. Please read this before skipping it. Yes, there is a lot of RNG and it is fundamental to the game. This is a feature, not a bug. The matches are quick for a reason. It's about managing odds and planning for potential failure. Nova Island has no ads, only cosmetic microtransactions, a great aesthetic, super unique mechanics, and perhaps most surprisingly the single player is actually engaging! Give it a try; what do you have to lose?
VERY interesting deckbuilder, almost completely unique mechanics which is really refreshing! No paid cards either which is a real bold choice. Cute bunny boys too. Makes my phone run *really* hot, that and player and enemy units are a bit hard to tell apart occasionally; The shades blues could do with being more different. Really interested to see where this goes, def gonna be keeping up with this.
Unique deck building game that's quick to play but a lot to explore and customize. You unlock more hero and cards through the currency you earn based after each game. If you can earn 50 energies (points) in a game then you get 50 energies to spend. Most of the cards are cheap to buy and you unlock more cards through playing them. Love it. The art style is delightful and each family designs stand out. Each card has nice animation both when played, attacked, and idle. Recommend to try it out.
The game is good i guess?? I am still playing the game and i have no idea about anything, the tutorial was super useless to me, u guys dont even tell us the meaning of all classes of heroes, the tutorial was just like "enter a match, use ur cards get, get ur points to 20 before ur opponent" and thats just it! And it consumes battery vey fast. 4 would have been the review but i just hate the tutorial
