There's no customer service or support number to call and get issues resolved. That alone is worth a 1 star review. The website and app look great. Users are offered numerous financial management tips, insights, and suggestions. Those are useful if you want help, but they're annoying if you don't. Transfers take a long time. Novo may be useful to someone who is just getting started, but it's more likely to cause frustration due to lack of support and transfers/deposits taking a long time.
Good feature set and integrations with external card processing. Pretty intuitive and the automated reserves system for allocating money is great. Main issue is that whenever I try to classify an expense with a category, the app crashes. The classification saves, but then it becomes a pattern of "classify one transaction, app crashes, repeat". If this gets fixed the app will be much better.
The app itself works fine. Pretty straight forward. The banking services however are the worst. Check deposits take forever to clear regardless of the amount or account standing. They claim it's 3 business days, it's more like 5 business days (so be ready for at least a 7 day wait). They have absolutely NO customer support- you have a question? 1-2 business day wait for any replies. I would steer clear of them if you need anything more than a deposit account without easy/fast access to funds.
When things go wrong, there's no phone number to contact them. You can message them and hope for them to message you back in 2-3 business days. A situation can be easily resolved with a call and within minutes. Instead, it takes weeks. Also, they failed to reach out to me about certain matters and did things without confirming with me or at least notifying me.
Good luck getting anywhere if your account is compromised. Had 2 fraudulent transaction in another country. I tried disputing but you stuck in an infinite loop of submitting a request, following up with info, just to be told to submit another request. They have a generic support line which ends up telling you to call the bank directly, even though I called the number on their app. I cancelled the card 4 months ago and still havent received a replacement. I'd highly recommend going elsewhere.
Terrible bank. Terrible app. It glitched and got stuck on the enable notifications screen. Then I tried to close the app and reopen. It told me my password was incorrect and locked me out. The only reason I am downloading the app at all is so I can close my account. The app is required to speak to customer service. There is no phone number or desktop option...
Terrible banking institution, do not download this app and do not trust them with your money. They do not operate like most banking institutions. Depositing checks takes an obscene amount of time, always 7 to 9 days. Using your debit card is next to impossible. Every single transaction is declined initially until you authorize it through the app. It is quite frustrating having your card declined wherever you're trying to use it. I was told that nothing can be done and I have to live with it
Good experience, provided you know what you're in for at the beginning. Do not expect your transactions to move quickly. You cannot 'call' anyone. You cannot use mobile deposit right away- only once you've had the account for a while and done a certain number of transactions that total a certain amount of $. They refund ATM fees up to a certain amount. You can send money from Cash App to a business account.
Don't do it!!! I opened an account with them recently and regret it! I checked my printify account yesterday morning and noticed that an order was declined even though I had just linked Novo and I knew I had the money there. My account was frozen for no reason and no explanation! I have reached out to customer service and they keep spouting the same BS that my account is under review and they can't try me why. I wish I had uncovered the Novo Platform iBBB page beforehand.
App won't let me log in. Constantly says there's an error or that my request timed out. Worked just fine last night so it's not a username or password error on my end. Just started using the bank itself so I can't really give any details on that, deposited a check last night. Went to see if it's been processed and now I can't even log in but I did receive an email telling me that my check is pending. Can't really do much with banking if I can't sign in right?
Seeing that it is online banking, I rely a lot on being able to deposit my checks electronically. However, it's almost impossible to do so when I keep getting am error message talking about wanting the perfect angle or whatever. It's a photo that's taken automatically when the check is on the right spot. Please fix this as it's annoying and time consuming trying to deposit one check.
Really good business account and app is decent. I only wish you could open an additional savings account like some business accounts offer. They offer a reserve option but it is basically useless because you can spend all the money in reserves just by using your card to make purchases from the main checking account. Another annoying problem is transactions with the card are very delayed to show in your account but the card will be declined for insufficient funds.
The app is great and support has been quick to respond. I give only three stars because the app doesn't allow the user to activate and deactivate the debit card from the app. This is a pretty standard feature these days (Azlo had it, as do my other banks). I prefer to keep my cards locked unless I'm making a purchase, so this is enough to make me a customer, but not a loyal one.
I enjoy most of the features and as long as I don't need to contact support, everything's fine. However, when I do need to contact support... Wow. Is it usually a terrible experience. Not only are the response times multiple days (I've had inquiries close while I was waiting for a response), but also, I've had to deal with very generic responses in the hope that I eventually get connected with a real person. If you are going to have a chat line, don't hamstring it with horrible response times.
Novo is a good option for business banking. I really appreciate the invoice feature and the detailed historic graphs. However, certain transactions are slower than expected. Depositing my 1st check to the account took almost 10 days to post...that needs to be better! Hopefully it will be faster if I ever need to use a check again in the future. Overall, I feel this is a really good business account option.
I usually don't leave reviews but... This thing is terrible. I do instant transfers all the time some days it works, most days it does not. This is terrible as a business owner as I have things to do with the funds. If you still have bugs to work out call it beta... I don't even want to to use this thing again. I have to wait 3 days for instant transfers. Then I contact them they say oh wait 3 days like it's no big deal. Like um.... I paid extra extra fees to have it instantly and have to wait.
What a turd. Take your banking business elsewhere. Can't login no matter what. Seven MFA text codes entered. Seven email confirmations clicked. Nope. At least a modicum of testing before you release your POS app. Unfortunately there are things you can't seem to do with their web interface because clearly.... THEIR SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE DOING. Availability is the third goal of security. If I can't access my account your security has failed, it is creating its own DOS.
Overall I have been very happy with Novo for my business needs. However, the latest app update seems to have a bit of a bug related to logging in via fingerprint. I'll log back in using fingerprint and I receive a message "you have been logged out" which then prompts me to use my username and password again, which can be time consuming. Please fix this bug!
Terrible bank, terrible customer service. No phone number to call and resolve issues. I have had an issue drag on for month now, no resolution. They are a digital bank, so at the very least with no brick and mortar locations they should have a phone number to call 24/7 to resolve issues. Instead, they force customers to message in the app or email. Their response time is abysmal. Would have left 0 stars if I could. NOVO IS A NO
This "bank" is an absolute POS! We had a fraud alert placed on the account because of a uhaul transaction. When we called to clear the alert and activate the card again we were told it will be up to 2 days to process. If you are running a business it is unacceptable to have your money essentially locked up for days. The rep told us we could still process payments through cash app, what a joke! Don't let NOVO sink your small business, go with a real bank.
