I definitely haven't become happier with the app as time has gone on. With the recent addition of pop up adds after every action, I can say my user experience has reached an all time low. I'm sorry the garage sale community isnt profitable OfferUp, but your not gonna make it better by driving customers away with popup adds. edit: 2 years later, I return, and my opinion has not improved. as soon as my viewing of an item is slowed down by an ad popping up, I don't wait, I close the app.

It's a good app to sell new and used items, but recently I have been getting people messaging me and not reading the description of my items and then want it cheaper or asks questions about the item that is already on the description. My items are way below pricing than any retailer. I'm beginning to think that the people in my state are total morons. Then the community acts like they want to buy your item then doesn't want to buy the item. I had to delete the app. It was not loading at all.

I have not been using this app for very long so maybe I missed something, but from what I gather, this marketplace app does not offer my potential customers free shipping, which is an attribute I like to offer my customers. In fact, looking into it, it seems that shipping is not only charged to the customer, but through my various tools, I can ship items far cheaper on my own. Maybe I missed something while making my listing. If so, help me out finding it, developing team department! Cheers!

They delisted my item without notice. I posted an item, had 10 photos taken that day, listed specs, model number, and all available info. I didn't get an email or message in the app about any sort of rules violation, just lost my listing when I went back to check on it. My post was full of detailed info and there was nothing about it less than credible. Also pet peeve, but you need the app to list an item, it wouldn't let me from the website. Just not a great experience overall.

Probably one of the worst apps for buying something. Out of all the people I've tried to contact only 1, and I mean 1, has contacted me back. It's also full of ads that look like the regular listings. You accidentally click on them and you have to restart your search. It's like you never even searched at all. On top of that 9.9/10 you have to relog into your account just to check messages or save items.

As if OfferUp doesn't make enough money off of sales, they force non-skippable video ads on you while you browse for stuff to buy. I just force close the app and go to eBay when that happens - it's insane. I can't imagine a company taking a cut from every sale through the app would need to sell out to low-quality mobile advertisers yet here they are, doing just that.

Used for about 3 months . My experience with messages about items was like this: 1)people would seem interested in an item then when I respond they never write back. 2)people would offer $20-45 less on an already fairly priced item (item for $70). One person offered to pay the $70, then when I asked when can they pick it up they asked can they have it for $50. 3)some messengers seemed scammy. New account, changing where they live, fake sounding name, etc. Very few messages in 3 months as well.

The Uber of Classifieds. Was a great alternative to craigslist that modernized it a bit. But they seem to have introduced full page ads you need to close out of. Like it's a free app you download off the Play store and not an actual company. Failed to monetize this properly and the company isn't doing well is what that tells me. Amazingly, Facebook is now the best place to buy and sell things. Impressive ineptitude from the competition to make that happen.

This app can be so hard to sell anything besides furniture on. And when buying people think that they have a coffee table made of gold. I understand there is a lot of low balling and haggling down on here but that is discouraging. Another thing is I believe it to be a big mistake getting rid of the shipping option. Honestly that was the main way I was able to sell anything on this app without constantly having to relist. I wish you would reconsider this decision & I doubt I'm alone in that.

The most frustrating thing about this app is that when listing something if you choose "Firm on Price" it will keep that setting on all the proceeding listings. This is a resale app. Firm price is the exception so the default should always be negotiable on price. I list a lot and it's easy to miss the button that is set to Firm on Price. I have probably lost lots of sales because a potential buyer sees the price is not negotiable when it is. Also, they no longer offer shipping.

I've been kinda skeptical with buying/selling as I've had this app for a long time mainly cause I've heard good things from it. Lo and behold, I finally post something for sale only for me to get super scammed :| I'm hoping it gets resolved in time, because selling something for 40$ only to be charged 1,200 when I wasn't even buying anything is insane. and it even got sent through the OfferUp email

*Update - Pay me for my input if you would appreciate it, Offer Up.* Using Chrome is easier when searching. just like Walmarts app, when you view items on a sorted and filtered list, your preferences disappear after viewing an item and going back. at least when using Chrome you can long press an items title and have it opened in a new tab so you don't lose your list. you can't even do that with either app.

please have a filter for cars and trucks where you can only see private party. it's a mess when most cars are dealerships, that makes it hard to find a car. Its a good app. It just has those annoying pop up ads. Also on android the photos that I upload are so bad quality, compared to how they actually look on my phone. Once the post is up they get all blurry and lower res.

Pro: I can buy things from my neighbors. I like that the offer button is straight forward. I like the sorting, especially that I can do it by distance. There are less repeated posts. Cons: it sometimes says I don't have Internet when I do. The notifications are obnoxious. So I think a lot of people don't keep them on. But then responses when you want to buy are slow or not at all. So because it's not a social media app, I think people are on it less.

Offerup used to be a decent way to sell locally (the only time I shipped something, the money was stuck in my account and I was unable to link my bank account and get the money, they couldn't help me and it eventually disappeared.) I used to get tons of views on my listings but don't anymore, probably because they want me to pay for it to be seen. the app says I have messages, but when I open my inbox it's empty. the ads also clog up the feed, making it difficult to use and shop listings.

This app is exhausting. It has the potential to be the best, but for some reason they chose to now show the prices until you click on an item. So all you see is the photo and have to look at the results one by one. For example: if you are looking for a camera and there are 500 results, you have to look at each one individually to see the prices. Like I said, EXHAUSTING! I had Offer Up first but have to use Facebook Marketplace instead... And I despise Facebook.

The ads are the worst! There are ads that look just like a listing so you are baited into clicking on them. Then there are pop up ads that freeze up and are difficult to get out of without closing the app. I've sold some but items are listed forever. The ads make browsing a nightmare, so I can understand why. Your listings have to stay on top because shoppers cannot scroll very long.

They just did an app update that makes it 100x worse. =WAY more clicks to post your item =rejects items more often "doesn't have sell 2x faster" button which is your only clue the item was rejected and isn't live for anyone to buy =Still defaults to USED item over new. Won't remember your setting if editing. =have to click view gallery, then gallery keeps breaking on scroll =If you try to see your item it complains about continue editing, discard, like facebook marketplace now =more issues

I used to love it... not anymore 😔 ads, ads, ads... Aliexpress and other super annoying ads that force themselves to open... total spam There's nothing for me to reach out to you separately! Just get rid of the b. s. ads that violate the protocol of forcing themselves to open while you are swiping the pages up or down!!!! Greedy advertising is not going to keep your app. popular!!!

I used to come to OU first when looking for something, now it is my last choice. Between the ads, the constant switching your area, your shipping preference to make you need to ship, the ads being in a language other than ours and the limited ads, I could continue but I won't. All these things make it so annoying, it has become a last resort. Offerup, what the heck? You are losing customers for changes that don't even make sense. A great idea has been ruined.
