Official E-ZPass NY

The app makes it really easy to check your E-ZPASS balance and recent activity. It's also easy to change vehicle / license plate info, which is great if you suddenly add vehicles due to an accident or other short term situation. Overall, it's a good app. My only complaint (not the app's fault) is that the over-reliance on acronyms for toll locations can make it hard to decipher where a toll was incurred. This can cause problems when expensing tolls. An acronym glossary would help.

The app is good when you're able to just start it up and it's already logged in. The problem is it logs you out every so often, so you have to log back in with username and password, which is inconvenient while traveling. No problem just use biometric login, right? Wrong, because even if you set it up it doesn't let you login with your fingerprint. You still need to use your username and password. What's the point of having a biometric setting in the app if it isn't used?

My pay per trip has not been working since they updated their system last April. I've called numerous times to get it resolved. Cases have been created and it's a new year and the problem still isn't resolved. The buggy system even keeps calling my checking account a credit card and rejecting payments. They have no technical support and the customer service has no idea what to do. Yet, they keep increasing tolls every year with so many issues not fixed.

this company should be sued class action. you make a payment, it says there is an error multiple times, and then they charge your credit card 4 or 5 times for the full amount. if you don't notice, they keep the money. then you have to call, wait forever on hold just to try to get your own money back, they don't do it automatically. also, they don't even apply your payment properly, and you end up paying the same bill twice! taking advantage of people to the max. this is a crime

Keeps crashing. Unacceptable! It says "An unexpected error occurred. Sorry for the inconvenience" This happens when I select the option to keep me logged in. Only if you have your passcode on your phone. Every time the app loses focus. You need to enter you userid and password into this app. To drive you nuts. Or force you to enter the password on the lock screen. I don't want to do either one.

I like the app. Works well and is convenient. A few ideas: Sort the transactions within a day by the time they occur. I don't think anyone cares about the posting time, when they went through the toll is what people need. Also, more clear names for toll plazas would help. Maybe a link to a map location as well? Also it would look cool if you could see the concentration of tolls you paid on a map.

Two stars because it's a joke. Unless you leave a permanent payment method on file, the app won't let you pay. Always thinks you're putting in more than 500 dollars and won't allow it. Even though I'm putting 100 on it. I REFUSE to let EZPass have access to my accounts because they take too much. At one point I had a 350 dollar balance and they STILL tried to take another 150. The next.month All for tolls weekly that add up to 37 bucks a week at most.

Not the easiest or clearest spp to use. Many things you need to do twice in order to correct. Adding and changing payment methods is frustrating and seem to be impossible. you cannot change how you are charged even though it says you did. trying to pay as you go doesn't work anymore. even though I have always paid that way suddenly you are charging in advance.

EZpass doesn't see you as a customer, just an obstacle between them and "Their" money. Never link your card with auto refill. They will come up with number they think is "right" with no warning. For me that number was almost $500. Decided to remove my card from their system, another $30 "fee". Their "low-balance" emails make it sound like you owe them $150+whatever your negative balance is and they won't let you pay anything less if you use their website. Perfectly fine to add 20 through the app

This is a very sneaky app. They should notify you BEFORE they charge your credit card for replenishment instead of after, so if you need to make arrangements you can do so. They charge your card and then let you know a day after. Replenishment is well before your balance reaches zero. They also increase the amount they think they should charge based on usage. All this leads to unpredictable and unanticipated payments. Very arrogant, "I'm more important than anything else you have to pay" policy

Really wanted to like this app, as I incur a lot of tolls in my daily travels and having quick access to those records would be awesome. It also allows for an alternate, actually logical auto-pay method, which is "charge my card for each toll as I incur them", rather than "charge a large, non-configurable amount when my balance gets low." This feature alone would have earned it 5 stars, but the app is completely broken at the moment, and hangs on a black screen upon every launch after the first.

Much worse than just accessing the website. Not sure why I bothered installing. Hard to sort and filter your tolls. Edit, in light of the below update, I tried it again. Literally no different. You cannot sort tolls, they show in a random order on the same day, and it's generally less useful than just logging into the website from your phone.

App is useless. I can't get past the verification part where it says it is sending me a code by text or email. Nothing shows up. I even logged on the website to make sure they had the correct number and email and they do. It just doesn't show up. Good thing I rarely have to get on there. I will just use the awful website. Not surprised a government app doesn't work!

I speak for everyone when I say this, E-Z Pass is a Monopoly, and one of the biggest modern scams of this generation! This app, though it's not perfect, is definitely a long time coming major improvement. To the heavy commuter; Pay-Per-Trip is my favorite only if you're on top of your tolls, but if not, please I beg you! Just use Manual Reload! The recommended refill and threshold amounts are algorithm based and will take your money when the time is right! Be done with those orange envelopes lol

Downloaded the app and when I tried to set up a temporary travel account all the optional information was actually required, and then it sent me 4(!) different verification codes, all with the same time stamp, none of which worked. Now I can't log in, or recreate the account, which it says already exists. I guess we'll find out if it actually registered after we hit the tollway.

Atrocious garbage. NY wants to make it difficult to pay tolls and force a 25 buck minimum EZ Pass purchase. Who remembers travel dates? The scan doesn't work. The website has no place to pay, it just brings up your bill. You have to mail it or call them. Not to mention signs on the highway say call **826 but that's not a valid number for cell or landlines. It's bizarre incompetence all around and the app is no different. Seriously, NY, get it together.

Horrible. Should've seen this one coming. This app is just as difficult as dealing with EZPass personnel and the website. Designed for you to keep forking up money. Tollsbymail? I received my letters after the payment due date resulting in me paying an extra late fee. Forcing me to sign up for ezpass just to save $13.50 on this invoice which I can't even access because of the horrible ethics of ezpass. Millions of cars come in and out of every tollbooth. Where's all this money going?

oh wow! they finally got with the times! my biggest issue using this app always was, that if I wanna save my card info to use to add funds with, I can only do that if I switch the account to auto pay mode. but if I wanna have it manually replenished, I have to put in my card info every time like it's the first time using it. now (April 2025!!!) they finally added a Gpay option, that I clicked and was charged in under 10 seconds, vs minutes every time before. so it's a big upgrade for me.

Horrible! I went to put money on my ez pass, and the app said a list of my payments could not be obtained, so I tied again and go the response again. I then get notified by my bank that I was charged twice, and then a 3rd time a complete different amount! So I was charged $105.00 total. That money was needed for something else and if the app can't even work right I doubt I'd get a refund. I don't use an ez pass enough to want to put $105 on it! So angry! App doesn't even work right still!!!!

Terrible app and terrible service in general. You receive a toll in the mail and it tells you to use the toll/violation number in the top right of the page to pay. There is no number listed in the top right anywhere and they give you no clue what the number should look like or how it should be entered. The mail will have a qr code to scan but it doesnt work. Wish i could rate it lower
